I loved that Chad used a personal example and admitted to the children that he was afraid too. It is okay to admit it, then turning to the Lord
Yes! Love tht! I dnt ever want to be too big or too good to admit my failures or human-ness to my children. I have to say sorry more often then the next person and it's ok for my children to see tht momma isnt perfect and tht i need Jesus' help.
This sweet video could not have come at a better time. Right now with all that is happening regarding Russia and Ukraine, God wants us to be asking Him for His help! Please continue to pray as a family and God will hear your prayers.

I've learned to never discount a child's prayer. When my now 28 year old son was 5 we were in the process of moving from CA to TX - his father was working in TX and I was at home with he and his 2 year old sister. One night as I was tucking the kids in for the night my son prayed that he would see his daddy tomorrow. There was no planned flight, and I was just thinking this poor kid is going to be disappointed by an unanswered prayer. Not even an hour later the phone rang and his daddy wanted to warn me he'd be driving up our driveway in 30 minutes and not be alarmed. Yep, that 5 year old trusted in the Lord, and the Lord answered his sweet prayer. And... the Lord answered that exact prayer TWICE before we moved. Nothing is impossible for the Lord!!

God bless you all for airing this video!! Family devotions are so important in our home. It's such a wonderful time to give our children a chance to talk about things tht are bothering them, and to teach them that Jesus cares about every little thing about us. ♡♡ Idk what we would do without HIM!!!♡ what you said about them getting to see their prayers answered is so so true. My kids are just 4 and 2 but have already seen Jesus answer their prayers (a home when we didnt have one, a new car, even food at one point) and they already KNOW that Jesus can trully do anything!! ♡♡
Every night before my 3 year old goes to sleep we ask her what she would like to thank God for. It helps her with prayer and to be grateful.

I am in tears at how the hand of God is glorified through your and Erins obedience. I have a young man; young (new)family who I was praying how to show leading the family i.e. children…you all answered the prayer!!
This was so special. It always encourages me to see you all and remember there are people that love the Lord and are doing all they can to teach their children about God and to live for Him.
I would greatly appreciate your prayers for my niece and our family. Her home burnt the 17th and they lost everything. Far worse her 16 year old son didnt make it out. We are so devastated. He accepted the Lord as his Savior and we rejoice in that. Learning to live without him will be so hard. We know God has strengthened us to get through the funeral. Please pray for my niece and the family.

The bible is the God inspired Word of God given to the Apostles through the Holy Spirit. If you haven't received Christ as your Savior you can't know or understand the truth because the Holy Spirit is the One who helps you understand the truth. I’ve got a 4-year old and a 1-year old! My husband reads the Goodnight Bible every night with them. It has a story, questions, a prayer, and a word to remember like “pray,” “helper,” or “heart”- whatever word was focused on in the story. My 4-year-old LOVES it! We read it with them before bed. Thanks for sharing how y’all do it! Praying the Lord blesses y’all for it!
First time watching one of their videos. More dads like that are needed to plant those seeds in their children’s lives who’ll come to appreciate and know how important family devotions are. I remember my dad letting us have turns with some readings.
When my kids were little, we did a memory verse for a couple of weeks or so (as long as it took for each of them to put it in their heart). We would usually try to tie in an actinity to reinforce the verse one night a week. For us, Friday nights worked. We had coloring pages or a hunt for objects or made bracelets. I really felt like each one had a learning style. Visual, auditory, etc. By reinforcing through the week and the projects, we prayerfully touched on each style. Some wonderful memories and keepsakes were made as well. Thank you for sharing and God bless your family.

Every evening after dinner growing up my family had a devotional together. We would eat dinner, where we were expected to show our good manners like napkins in laps, elbows off the table, eating not talking, etc. Then as dinner started to wind down, my dad would tell a dumb joke or a funny story and we would all laugh and talk at once about our day, then one of the kids who could read would read the designated scripture and my parents would engage us in conversation like you all did in this video. All this around the dinner table. Our dinner hour was a literal hour. These are among the sweetest memories I have of my childhood so many decades ago. Your children will cherish these times.
I remember as a child having family devotions & those were some of my fondest memories.
Completely adorable ! I wanna start doing this with my little one. Sometimes you get so busy running and doing that you don’t prioritize setting that important time aside to do these things and I want to implement this into our routine ♥️
May that happen for your family. Consistency, short time, and keeping them involved. They gave a good blueprint.

It is so encouraging to see that you are making this a daily routine. The earlier children build their own personal relationship with Jesus that better, its precious and our biggest responsibility as parents/grandparents. They'll see we aren't perfect, don't expect them to be but God loves them and He is always with them.

Chad and Erin, I remember way back at the beginning of Bringing Up Bates, when you two weren't feeling very cheerful, but Erin put her best foot forward in helping bless Whitney and Zach with a lovely baby shower. "...for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap(Galatians 6:7)." I realized back then that you were sowing into baby showers! And there they are in the picture with you, lined up on the couch doing Bible study. I'm thankful for the opportunity to share this with you. May God richly and continually bless you and yours. ❤️🙏

Love this so much. Mine are grown, sweet to see. I was blessed ttoday to be speaking with someone. I am Catholic, speaking about the rosary. I pulled one out of my pocket and said they were blessed by the pope. He asked if he could touch them, I said, please keep them.

1st I would like to thank you guys for sharing a part of your daily devotions with us. Your children are so blessed to have parents who teach about things that are about every day life situations.. Chad you done an outstanding job. I know as a child my daddy would teach me and my brother about the Lord, and he would do a scripture like you guys do and he would do examples from when he was a little boy. He went all in and my Mother would pray with us. My children we had a daily devotional book and done that and then as they were learning to read, I would let them read scriptures from the Bible and we tried reading the entire Bible by the time school was out.. Some days were harder than others but you as a parent have to keep encouraging them just do their best, God knows your heart...
I do have a prayer request if you all don’t mind me asking you to remember a cousin of mine. Her marriage isn’t what it was, her husband after 20yrs wants to end the marriage. She knows that God can put it back together but her husband don’t want to here anything pertaining to God! She thinks he’s running from God too. Please pray that God can put her marriage back together she’s a mess but she knows we serve a powerful God and He’s still on the Throne! Thank you in advance!🙏🏻

I really love they way chad talks to them and you as well I wish I had a Christian dad that prayed with us or took us to church , I’m 62 now and still heartbroken I never had that, I envy you having a husband that makes god number one although I have a Christian husband now and my dad has been gone for 20 yrs about , keep up the good lord work

We use the book Little Visits with God. It has a verse to memorize, a story to read, and questions. Our 4 year old loves helping answer the questions. Our older 2 look the verses up in the Bible and read them to us.

It is so powerful to see Gods work in your family. I pray for continued growth in this process for you as God guides you as a family. I am new to your channel but I just wanted to possibly suggest something. There is a fantastic children’s Action Bible that I highly recommend. With your son being a little older I think it would be great to maybe have a little bit of extra time with him and introducing it to him. I am sure he is probably able to understand a little more because of his age. My minister gifted my son his action Bible at about 4 years of age. We started with reading a couple pages a night but also having a discussion about what Gods word meant or what he is teaching us. My son is almost 12 now and reads my Bible with me. I recently had the honor of sitting in on "Family Bible Time" with a family that I stayed with for the weekend. It was such a sweet thing to be a part of and I was so happy to see this family discipling their children in God's Word. Wonderful job, Chad and Erin!

I am not religious at all but I’m trying to be more connected to God. After my two year old passed in 12/2019 it’s been very hard but watching y’all I really admire the relationship y’all have w God. I do hope one day to have a better connection w him and for my kids too. Love watching y’all!

Love your family and everything y'all do with them. I know the Lord will bless you both to continue this until they get of age and then when they grow up, they will continue doing this with their own children. One thing I would like to point out is that we should teach our kids to say the name of Jesus and tell them about the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Because the Bible says in Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Because in these evil days, there are billions and trillions of gods. We serve the true God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. But we do everything and pray in the name of His son, Jesus! Teach the babies this so that when they grow up they will know who Jesus is, who God the Father is and Holy Spirit. Many speak about "God" but never mention who the True God is. Then when our kids grow up just knowing God, the entire world will say they know about and also worship god. Which could lead to our kids being deceived and confused. The gods of the "world" is not the same God we worship. Our God is Jesus Christ and He does go by many names but the Bible lists them all. Our schools are teaching there are many gods and many roads that all lead us to heaven. The Bible says otherwise. One name and one way to God Our Father. Through His Son, Jesus Christ. I pray this makes sense to everyone. The Bible says we are to be separate from the world's way of knowing gods. Love y'all so much and May God continue His Blessings on all of you. Amen 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️😊
