One good idea for free boxes is to go to grocery stores in the produce section. They know to keep back great boxes that are strong for people to take. When you pack, you never have enough! 🙏

Make sure to check into the agriculture laws for crossing state lines with farm animals. We had a friend move from FL to TN and it was a problem to cross state lines. They had tonturn around and take animals back.

We moved out of our home if 10 years December 4 of last year with our 3 kids so I know how you’re feeling. Excited but a pit in your stomach :( It’ll be worth it! Excited to see people still following the Lords will even when it’s hard! ❤
Our kids are in their 30’s now but when they were 3, 5 & 7, God called us from south Florida to Oklahoma City. We packed up a small U Haul trailer and headed here with no place to live, a maybe on a job and having never set foot in this state. God opened all the doors in miracle after miracle! We look back almost 30 years and are still in awe. You we feel the same when you see all He will do in your lives as you step out in faith. Merry Christmas!
Moving is such a chore, but the end result will be well worth it. I hope you love Florida. The lifestyle is very laid back. I love living on Florida and I was a northerner most of my life ( except for a few years in Florida as a child). I feel blessed to live here in the milder weather ( although this is supposed to be a very cold Christmas). Merry Christmas and enjoy your time with family. Just concentrate on mKing new memories in your new home.

I was supposed to close 10/31 and they ended up needing an extension which meant I moved right after Christmas! My husband does have some family down here here but I had spent my whole life living in the same town or the town next to it so it was a big adjustment. I understand how you feel. It does still get hard sometimes, but in our experience, this has been such a great move for us. I hope you and Chad have a similar feeling. Once you get settled, I know for your safety you can’t share exactly where you’ll be but from how close you’ll be to Alyssa sounds like we may be in a similar area. We moved so many times with the military, and then after we retired with my husband's current job. Our last move was 5 years ago. We finally put our boots to the ground and said no more moving. Bought a farm, and 20 acres. While we unpacked, and moved into the farm we went through every box, and down sized. Our donation pile was massive.
Great video! I couldn't help but laugh when Chad said, we have gotten rid of so much and there is so much left. We closed on our home October 22nd. (just the 2 of us) While we have purged, there is still so much "stuff"! We are moving from Jacksonville FL. to Deland FL, It is about a 2 hour drive. We are near being 100% done. The Lord has been with us every step of the way, if it hadn't been for him I am not sure it would have went so well. Prayers as you begin your journey.

We have moved around with my husbands job. One time we moved from Florida to Cincinnati to South Carolina all within 9 months. That was 3 houses & one apartment. I also know how hard it is to move right around Christmas. That happened to us 3 times as well. It's a lot but one day you will look back and think how in the world did I do that? :-) Good luck with the move & welcome to Florida.
That’s really great you have help to pack. I moved as well but barely did anything because I had back problems so my nearly 70 yr old mom had to do most of everything. It was hard to see her do everything. I was told strictly no lifting by my chiropractor. I ended up giving away most of my furniture and sold all my appliances so my parents wouldn’t lift them. Luckily I moved to a place where every appliance is provided.

I lived in Upper Michigan for 48 years before moving to NW Pennsylvania. It’s been 15 years now since we moved. Moving was so much work. We have 9 kids so we had so much to move. I would never want to do it again. We moved the day after thanksgiving.
Six years ago, we moved to a new church ministry in Florida on Christmas week. It was exhausting yet God has provided in abundant fashion. Take care and enjoy the adventure.

As a military BRAT, I think moving at such young ages, it is fun and exciting! Mom, on the other hand, probably struggled more leaving friends, packing, etc. (just my opinion, not speaking for Erin and her kids)

I lived in Upper Michigan for 48 years before moving to NW Pennsylvania. It’s been 15 years now since we moved. Moving was so much work. We have 9 kids so we had so much to move. I would never want to do it again. We moved the day after thanksgiving.
Six years ago, we moved to a new church ministry in Florida on Christmas week. It was exhausting yet God has provided in abundant fashion. Take care and enjoy the adventure.

The kids are such good helpers. I know that moving is a lot but things will go well. And at least you’ll be in the same state with one of your sisters. 50 minutes is not terrible. So yay! As a military BRAT, I think moving at such young ages, it is fun and exciting! Mom, on the other hand, probably struggled more leaving friends, packing, etc. (just my opinion, not speaking for Erin and her kids)
