*_WEAKEST_* main character death in TV history. They could have hired a dude who LOOKS like him, filmed his ass getting out the police station from 100 feet away, and a drive-by rolls up and he gets got. It was terrible. Especially seeing as he was one of the main-ish characters up to this point.
Fr they killed of Brandon reg Ronnie the two detectives that where working together to take down douda just disappeared out of nowhere no explanation then they kill off the old man q he disappeared and then they just killed him off like wtf and they killed off trice a little too early they could have kept him on for a little bit longer and when Ronnie was about to turn his life around and do good they kill him off they killed off the characters that made this show entertaining now it’s just about relationships and other unnecessary bullshit the show just fell off bad season 1 and season two where the only entertaining seasons imo

So I heard about Jason Mitchell being fired and I was like “dang that’s crazy, he was on a roll with Straight Outta Compton!! Now he’s fired from his new show??” So I knew something would happen to his character. But dang man, I wish it was written better. His character’s life was so unfortunate. Just trying to get by and be decent and understanding. Then just die 😪
I’m watching in 2024 for the first time, too. Just started in the end of May. I knew nothing about those allegations. And when I saw first episode of season 3 I thought the funeral was going to be for Reg. I saw Brandon’s picture and my heart sunk like it was real life…lol…and then no details on how he died either. That whole episode was disappointing….
the reason i think that he might be still alive is because, for one they don’t even have a open casket like they did for coogie, and in season 2 the detective tells brandon that they will try to keep him secured and safe, so the detectives faked his death and also see how his ex girlfriend wasn’t at the funeral
They did a piss poor job at writing him off. I kept waiting for some kind of dialogue to give us an insight on what happened. Never came. They were just like "Oh btw Brandon's dead"......"...anyway..." And with Brandon went Cruz and the other detective who were working to bring down Douda. They were an integral part of the cast and storyline. And they just...vanished. No explanation. Nothing. Not even a "well Brandon's dead for xyz reason. We have no case. Let's pack it up". NOTHING.
And what's up with Ronnie part he's with his dad patching things up getting his life together season 3 he's living under a bridge makes no sense atleast show how he ended up homeless you already showed me enough other details!
He ended up homeless after his grandmother's death. He was at the bar giving a speech about his grandma when he left to go home when he got there, there was an eviction notice and a lock on the door with his belongings sitting in the yard
Ronnie's grandma didn't die. He's still visiting her in a care home while he is homeless. Poor writing to just show Ronnie pushing a shopping cart and sleeping under a bridge. There was no explanation of how he ended up sleeping under a bridge. The whole thing with Kevin attending Brandon's funeral without any explanation was a complete frustration and pissed me off. They could've done way better! I felt like I was scammed out of a few episodes!

Brandon became an informant in order to help the police get Douda. Knowing who Douda is, it's easy to deduce that Douda killed him. Why would Ronnie find out who killed Brandon? They weren't friends and they weren't cool with each other.
