About Season 6 of The Chi: This season, life in THE CHI reverberates between the highest highs and lowest lows. Big dreams are finally realized but at a cost and everyone will be tested in unimaginable ways as they calculate the risks and rewards of their next big move. Emmett (Jacob Latimore) and Kiesha’s (Birgundi Baker) blissful blended union is tested by his insatiable drive to expand Smokey’s and a new perilous partnership, while Kiesha finally races toward a rewarding new career. Douda (Curtiss Cook) deals with the fallout of Q’s murder and its effect on the shifting loyalty of his inner circle. Victor’s (Luke James) bold declaration of love for both his new girlfriend and his beloved community will impact his political ambitions. Happily married Jada (Yolonda Ross) mentors Emmett and her besties as they navigate relationships. Kevin (Alex Hibbert) is becoming a brilliant master gamer but struggles with the youthful pitfalls of early independence. Jake (Michael V. Epps) launches a new business, and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) falls for an older woman while questioning his faith. What will become of their pursuits will be revealed over the course of this season’s sixteen jaw-dropping episodes.

@@youngm.a.r.s2614I wish the writers let Reggie stay, the story line would’ve been perfect. He could’ve changed the lives of BOTH of his little brothers. Instead, they wrote him out & made it seem as if he didn’t exist after a while.
@@kimberlymcneill7283 Everything you said was facts. Except Reg was only older than Jake, Trig is the oldest. But I do feel like Trig would’ve straightened Reg out and made him stop being so reckless and so much of a hothead on the streets and he could’ve used Reg as a muscle when necessary once he got into the politics. They could’ve been the dynamic duo and the perfect balance for Jake. The 3 Taylor brothers could’ve been unstoppable.

Had Trig/Victor not come into Jake’s life he would be knee deep into the streets by now. And he would’ve been terrible at it. As much as the lifestyle fascinated Jake, there’s still a little too much good inside of him for him to have been good at it. It’s basically what we’re seeing with Bakari
That's the goodness Reggie was trying to keep in him.
ngl Jake's character was way better when Reg was on the show, after they killed him off the show just went so soft & lighthearted, it didn't feel like a dark gangster show anymore.
I think that was the point. It feels more like they were trying to humanize the people of Chicago more than just gangsters and such
It’s called growth. Jake was just a little kid who was trying to play gangsta with no proper guidance. Now that he’s grown up he has the structure and guidance that he always needed from Victor and even Douda played a part in that by getting custody of him once Reg got killed and sending him to the same private school that Kevin was attending, which benefited him in the long run because now he has his own clothing business and doing real good for himself. As far as the show itself, I feel like now it’s more dark and gangsta than it’s ever been now that Douda is the main villain and is losing his mind.

Reggie was so chaotic. If he stayed Jake would have been killed eventually. Glad they changed his circumstances and showed him and other characters leveling up beyond their environment and circumstances.
