- We're loafing about on a secluded beach when a beautiful woman bored with another party in a millionaire's yacht, jumps overboard to swim to shore with a bottle of champagne to get away from the same old party. After small talk with Buz, who is spear-fishing for lunch, ends up getting her foot stuck between the rocks, launching Buz into a desperate struggle to free her before the tide swamps her... while Tod is girl-watching in town.
All shot in Santa Catalina Island, CA, including the town of Avalon, off-summer. The main shots are in Little Harbor Cove, on the western side of the island. The cove is just as then (as a campground) including the rocks where Joanna Moore gets her foot stuck. As is Boy Scout Camp Cherry Valley, 7 miles to the northeast.

The Director John Newland was a driving Creative Force behind "The Outer Limits." The Writer Stirling Silliphant provided The Screenplay for a 1967 Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger Classic known as "In The Heat of The Night."🤔🎤🛸👮♂️👮♀️👨⚖📺🎥B.W.
Stirling was a great writer, all the best episodes were written by him

The woman in 1:04 is Miss Peggy (Dorothy J. Cook aka Joanna Moore) from TAGS. She sings a great version of "Down in the Valley." She shouldn't have hooked up with Ryan O'Neal. Women jump the shark once they hook up w/ O'Neal.

Joanna really did cut her leg making this scene. Too bad addictions destroyed such a beautiful woman.
And talented too. She should have been a much bigger star.

Sadly, this was George Maharis’ last episode on the series...seems the producers were making him run all over the island although he was still recovering from his bout with Hepatitis....as a result, he suffered a relapse and decided to call it quits for the sake of his health....unsurprisingly, CBS cancelled the program a year later...
according to the producers - Maharis had become troublesome - & demanding - & whining that the series was keeping him from becoming the big movie star he thought he was destined for - so he was let go - and he was given the chance to be a big movie star - but failed miserably
I believe this was the one where Maharis started having health issues since he was in a few episodes of season 3

Now I’ll never know what happened! Where’s the rest of the movie?! She was so pretty. Tatum is built like her mother and has her eyes I do believe. It just makes me so sad how things turned out for her. She was so talented she could sing too. I just loved her on the Andy Griffith show. She sang an old song so beautifully on an episode. I wish she had been Andy’s steady instead of Miss Crump. Her character had so much more pizzazz!
Someone posted this episode in its entirety on you tube. It was colorized. It made it distracting at times but it was fun to watch.

@@steveanacorteswa3979 You drive to San Pedro and drive it onto the ferry, that's how. Don"t leave it in San Pedro on the docks for a few days -- if you want to see it again. Makes perfect sense to me.
That was pretty darn silly. The two guys are camping illegally on Catalina Island, but WITH the Corvette? And sorry, but the ocean there is cold; you couldn't just jump off a boat for fun and effortlessly swim to shore and then laze around and wade in the water at your whim. George Maharis is wearing a wetsuit for a reason; it's cold!
