I'm always eager to learn new or different things with all types of professionals of our field, but it's getting increasingly more difficult to find good content online. Your channel has been a good surprise. While this video in particular is something I already knew/understood, it's good to see that you keep it true, honest and are laying around lots of "foundational" videos for people that, for example, don't know how to calculate their macros, integrate cardio and weight and other stuff I've seen in here. I love the posture and the attitude, keep it simple, keep it honest, keep it clear, people will come. Thank you!

Excellent content as usual, you're a real reference in the fitness, workout and athletic performance jungle.
In my opinion the key words are: " a succesfull aerobic session should feel good, not like a punishment".
I completely agree and this is the opposite of what has been thought for several years in running, cycling and swimming context...

A jump rope is my friend when it comes to cardio. I use a 1lb weighted rope. 1,500 skips a day, 100 in each set with alternating sets of push-ups, pull-ups, core work, and or squats/lunges. I'm 41 and I've never felt better! Intermittent fasting, yoga, sauna, and cold showers help with recovery so I can be active everyday instead of fighting against doms after every workout. I lift beer for a living and wake up every day at 4am. I grow my own sprouts and eat roasted crickets with each meal.
Thanks Marcus! Your video content and calm demeanor are always a pleasure to watch after a workout. 🤟

Great advice here. I’ve stopped doing brutal anaerobic intervals on the echo bike and have started doing longer aerobic circuit sessions where my heart rate is consistent rather than jacked into oblivion. Certainly don’t miss falling off the bike gasping for air and contrary to what I thought my fitness levels are just as good from aerobic cardio as they were from those horror intervals at max intensity

I did a lot of heavy cardio but recently switch to mostly weights.
Muscle size increasing and finding it easier to stay lean.
I’ll still do cardio, but just not to the point where it wears me out.
Just my personal experience for thought 💭

I think for a lot of people (like me) the problem is not cardio being painful, but cardio being boring. That is why I tend to lean towards HIIT, although it is much harder on my recovery and probably not optimal for my goals.

one thing I noticed recently is that no (resistance) fitness guy I follow posts a Concept2 time, its an obvious one as its a standard machine. Its something Im working on trying to bring my time down, currently 5K and later in the year will add the 2k. I'd be interested in the tension it causes with doing resistance training. For me I try to do it after a full day rest, say at lunchtime and then do a lighter weight session in the evening. One thing I changed recently was dumping a 7 day schedule, I couldnt fit everything in, I just have a rolling programme now so I probably get everything repeated twice in a 9 day period.

I feel like everyone should try at least once track racing training. You learn to pace yourself, know your body and is soo helpful for actually enjoying cardio. Personally, I would only do cardio If it made me more muscular. I dont understand those that lift all the time and hate cardio !

Except for the genetically gifted.....slow burn cardio has a tendency to eat up muscle mass and lowers t levels.......stick to complexes...carries....sled drags...prowler pushes and toss in bodyweight stuff.....kettlebell. Movements etc on the " rest breaks""

Hay marcus is it a bad idea to do endurance cardio after lifting weights fasted ? I train at 5 am to 7am consisting of bodyweight and mobilty to start for 45 mins and around 1 hr 15 mins for actual hypertrophy work 6 days a week. Then 5 days a week im using a spin bike for around 1-2 hrs a day and a pace where it isnt difficult but slowly riding at a higher speed with same level of difficulty.
Im not looking to lose or gain weight but i am trying to acheive being able to ride 35 km in a hour. Currently at 25 kmph started at 21. So first meal will be at around 8 or 9 am. Long question i no and i know my username is notnatty but im actually natural. I do have around 400mg of caffine on most days.

What is a great 400- 500 Meter pace equivalent to running 400 meters under 50 seconds? I am rehabbing my legs and want to keep my endurance around 46-47.5 400 meter running pace

I lift 4 days a week (upper lower) and just walk on an incline treadmill for 50 mins before doing 10 mins of light stretching on my 3 rest days. I'd like more cardio options that won't interfere with my lifting performfance/progression.
