Regarding the song, ' New York', I thought it might interest you to know that South Africans were up in arms when it dropped because it sounds eerily similar to one of our artists' biggest hits; 'Nkalakatha.' It dropped soon after Ja Rule visited the country. He was clowned by local media for that. Hasn't come back, since.
39:10 Correction, Go to Sleep was a Benzino diss track. The only line Eminem had toward Ja Rule was “Ja, you’ll get it too,” which means he wasn’t the primary target. That was just a warning shot. 23:09 50 was calling Jada local, not Ja. The only “diss” to Ja in that song was in the music video, where his face is on an arcade game called “Murder Inc.” that’s out of order.
It’s crazy that Eminem,50, and Dre are still relevant to the point that they performed at the SuperBowl and Ja Rule is literally no where to be seen on the face of the earth 🤦🏾♂️😂
Let’s not forget Mary But I don’t think he would be allowed even if he was still relevant He has too much beef with them to just perform with them Same reason why the game couldn’t be there even if he was relevant
This is amazing, and the main reason I say that is because you accurately mention almost every mixtape in correct order and explained the back story behind them. Thank you for staying true to the hip hop facts and lore.
When I was pretty little my dad told me there were two things that I could fight for and he would always have my back. First was if I thought someone was going to hit me and the second was if someone dissed my mama.

If you from the hood you know that 48 laws of power ish is so annoying Because anyone that went to jail comes out thinking they the master Manipulator & use those laws on they friends smh lol
Hahaha that part around 18:00 made me laugh. Dr Dre and especially Eminem are such bros. Eminem legit went extra mile by putting his songs in 8 mile. That was such a "ba dum tsss" thing, love it.
Ja Rule's biggest mistake was going after Eminem, Dr Dre and Busta Rhymes as well in addition to 50. Smh. *Edit:* Obie Trice - Sh!t Hits The Fan. Is the most underrated diss track towards Ja.
The title of this video is a misnomer, it should say “how the industry ended Ja Rules career”. Curtis definitely didn’t do it by himself, Ja became the industry punchin’ bag everyone ganged up on him. He should not have said what he said about Hailey (Ems daughter) that was his careers death warrant.
Man, I forgot about that early 50 track where dude disses the entire rap game, before anyone even knew who he was. Dude was a troll from the very beginning, and I fucking love it
Yeah but that didn't feel like a diss song, he structured it and made it something you could hear on the radio while Ja was putting out full albums all agressive about 50 and not making the pop sounding hits that could've kept him alive.

Absolutely awesome and through video, covering every aspect of this exciting beef I grew up with. Only place I would correct, is even though Ja gets a mention on 'Go to Sleep', it was mostly aimed at Benzino (where Em angrily references 'speak on my seed' as he had recently done).
Having been too young to experience the mixtape era, I now realize how much music from these dudes I’ve never heard before, only studio albums and singles.
I'm so grateful for my buddy getting me hooked on 50 Cent just when all this shit was going down...all we had was "Guess Who's Back" and a bootleg of "Power of the Dollar". And then those mixtapes started dropping and about a year later it's like Fifty got signed by Shady. And the rest is, indeed, history! God we hated Ja. ^^

Your humor is legit funny, I be at work loling hard. I’ve never been a person to watch a lot of UA-cam much less go on patreon but I’m definitely considering it. Thank you from HTX 👋
Real reason 50 beefed with Ja: When Supreme Mcgriff came out of jail, he chose to work with Ja and Irv Gotti instead of 50. 50 felt betrayed, he looked up to Preme who was a legend in the neighbourhood and couldn't understand why Preme chose to work with Ja and Irv, who 50 thought was soft. 50 came to the 'it's murda' music video shoot to kill Ja rule and Preme told 50 to go home. 50 thinks he and Preme are cut from the same cloth and that Irv and Ja are not. That's probably the real reason the beef happened. If you look at the FBI tapes, immediately after 50 got shot, Irv Gotti called Preme up and said "did we do it? was it successful" or words to that affect. I think 50 cent blames Ja rule and Irv Gotti for having him shot 9 times which is probably why the beef will go on until one of them dies.
You’re absolutely right. 50 kinda confirmed this in a XXL interview in the 00s. And Murder Inc did play a part in him getting shot. This is real street shit. People need to let go of the hope of them ending this beef.
“Where is Jaaa ?!” And “Monicaaaa !” Are the highlights of this dude’s career. He sold a bunch of records but it wasn’t because if how talented he was, he always had crazy features. When he wanted a radio hit he’d get Ashanti, J Lo or whatever hot R&B chick was popular ar the moment. When he wanted a street record he’d get Jadakiss, Far Joe, Dmx or Jay Z. I kinda felt bad for Ja, he got gangbanged by all the biggest names at one poin, Em, DMX, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, X Zibit, D12, G Unit etc. it was a massacre, no pun intended.
Your vids are Dope bruh! TLR is a force to be reckoned with in the UA-cam world .. some one needs to give this man his crown hes surpassed ackdemics in my mind much respect dawg! Bblrrrrr 💥

Ngl this whole thing made me laugh at Ja's expense right up until the end where he was using his influence to help small businesses, very dope. Ja If you're reading this keep doing that shit (and maybe not plan another festival)
Honestly I respect Ja for that Uber commercial. Shows he was willing to try to get out of the Clout game and just be a real person. Able to make fun of himself. Now if he had maintained that mindset he could have grown above the beef that defined his life. But because everyone sees that as a L he was weak and fell back into that bs life. Clout is a cloud y'all. U can't touch it.
Wow what a ride! I really liked both of them growing up (middle/high school when they started. I am astonished by how much I didn't know. Media and info have changed so much. Fluck em for hiding all the good stuff in drama, etc. FOR SHAME! Also, Gyrule sent me and I can't recover.
25:48 Damn, calling DMX a crack connoisseur is crazy work. Especially since how he got addicted to crack is actually super fucked up. He got addicted because someone that he thought he could trust laced him and got him strung out. It's not like he was just out there like, "hmm I think I should go try some crack."
Ya bro there was zero reason for this weird azz British dude to just insult him everytime he brings him up. Weird asf I literally heard him smear his name 3 times this vid wild but ok. Goofy doesn’t care he’s safe hiding out in Uk 🤣
TLR I definitely appreciate a different take on this beef. I was in HS when this started and 50 definitely stopped me from ever listening to a Ja Rule song again.
@Wild Hearts huh? Ja only did blood in my eye dissing them. The next year he dropped r.u.l.e which had decent singles, sadly it only went Gold. By contract there are far more disses at ja rule from 50, eminem, d12, 50, Dmx etc did you lose interest in them? Perhaps it was just ja's Time, most rappers have a 5 year run. 1999-2004 for ja and 2003-2008 for 50 respectively.
I feel like you should've included how historically hard 50 Cent and Gunit was going in the mixtape game leading up to him being signed by Em. No doubt your docs are always extremely detailed but you always seem to leave out at least one important detail and I'm sure there's a valid logic as to why but damn Ross that mixtape run was absolutely legendary and played right into 50's popularity at the time and also gives a better understanding as to why his first album did so well. Also during this era is when fans would noticably point out that 50 seemed to start using Ja Rules melodic harmonizing style in his music which in my opinion was very important to this story because he had already crushed Ja making fun of him singing on tracks only to turn around and do it himself in his own way. Also in much the same way Em D12 and Dre began to take aim at Ja on Fif's behalf (sorta) the lox and fat Joe retaliated the same way from the Ja side. Not a real important detail but since you included Em's numerous attacks why not also do the same for Ja's ally's? None the less, great piece of work as usual. Keep it up
@@MattWarb What a load of BS. 50 had to go out of state to work with producers because they were scared to work with him with Irv gotti down their neck.

I'm glad you mentioned the Kanye and 50 cent stuff because ultimately, 50 cent kind of had the same thing happen to him when he put out that challenge that he'd sell more records. I don't recall any true animosity between the two of them but 50 cents career also kind of plummeted after he lost the challenge. The biggest difference is 50 didn't have Kanye dropping dis track after dis track against him but 50 did have most of G-Unit fall apart around that time and a good portion of his own crew had turned on him. Not only that, but Lil Wayne had started taking over in popularity as well and most of the artists he featured with, had known problems with 50 cent so the tides really started turning on him. You could even argue that once 50 cent fell off the charts, Eminem and Dre sort of went on a decline with him. Although certainly not to the same extent. Both Ja Rule and 50 cent's music is a product of the era but i think they'd have made a better team than they would have as being enemies because honestly, their music was really not all that much different from each other, the biggest difference was the vocals, they were both dropping duets with women and pop stars. lol
I meet Ja Rule last year on a flight back home from LA to JFK a week before lockdown started, he was flying first class and nobody noticed he on it even tho it was mostly empty. Irrelevant is a understatement

I doubt he would've gone back anyways lol

39:10 Correction, Go to Sleep was a Benzino diss track. The only line Eminem had toward Ja Rule was “Ja, you’ll get it too,” which means he wasn’t the primary target. That was just a warning shot. 23:09 50 was calling Jada local, not Ja. The only “diss” to Ja in that song was in the music video, where his face is on an arcade game called “Murder Inc.” that’s out of order.

If either of them died we definitely seeing a "Smoking ____" tweet from them immediately
Yes diverse mentality exactly said this.
Who told you that?
You’re absolutely right. 50 kinda confirmed this in a XXL interview in the 00s. And Murder Inc did play a part in him getting shot. This is real street shit. People need to let go of the hope of them ending this beef.
Where’d you hear that from, that Irv called preme and asked him that I never knew that

Keep it up

Both Ja Rule and 50 cent's music is a product of the era but i think they'd have made a better team than they would have as being enemies because honestly, their music was really not all that much different from each other, the biggest difference was the vocals, they were both dropping duets with women and pop stars. lol
