Can you please help me!
@@lorenarodriguez4277 Hi Lorena, how can I help you?
The hardest part for me is transferring the drinks from the tray on to the table, I always feel like when I take a drink off, the shift of weight will cause it to topple over
It takes time to get the confidence, Oran! You can watch the video about carrying a tray with drinks and I explain there how to arrange the drinks so you have better balance! But give yourself time and you will master that! Best of luck!
I've spilled red wine by that same fear, it all starts with being confident. Its okay to make a mistake

Lol one of my friend actually practices at home with water bottles!
This one video has trained me more than my workplace has ever done.
:) Ryan, unfortunately in our business there is no time and money to train new employees and that makes the job much harder! I hope i help a bit!
Same as me 😍😍😍
Same here
Been in hospitality for 16 years well before UA-cam! I had to learn the hard way and make mistakes and practice. This is a fantastic instructional video wish this was around when I started!
The Kush Puppie, thank you very much for that! This is exactly why I started this channel!
I love this guy, your personality is very friendly, very good waiter tips, dont ever let people say u advicing is wrong.
Wow I have missed such a nice comment somehow :) Thanks Juan, I am really grateful!
I just wanted you to know that I have watched all your videos and today I got the job I wanted. Thank you 😊
I am happy for you Maria! Best of luck and stay in touch more videos are coming!
I'm not even a waiter...im a writer whos gone down a massive rabbit hole and need this video to get the details right about how a fake waiter should try and fail carry a tray of drinks. thanks for making this my dude
Interesting :)
That's awesome honestly!
Love this haha
Can you let us know the name of your book once it’s done!😄
Thank you for showing a server picking up stemware the correct way and that it's ok to use your otjer hand to help balance a heavy drink tray.
You are welcome Stacy Thomas! In our stressful job it is very important for all to understand that mistakes happen and they will continue to happen, we should put health and safety first!
yes it is ok to help yourself with the right hand while you are carrying a heavy load of drinks or plates! Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to make this videos. I appreciate it.
Great video. Many places don't train their staff properly. Basics must be secured first. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Saccharomyces!
Good video, I like your confidence…I have a heavy accent too, and sometimes I feel intimidated to talk in public because that, we need be proud we speak more than one language...
Thanks GM! No intimidation because of the accent or because we don't speak perfect! You said it right: be proud that you have put the effort and learned the language and just do a great job! The guests know how to appreciate that!
This teacher is great teacher
I just wanna say thankyou !!! This made me feel so much better about upcoming job 🙌🏼💪🏼
Thanks for existing!!!!
You’re awesome!! Thanks for sharing your great advice 😄👍🏼
Thanks Yung, I really appreciate your kind words!
Nice video man,I'm starting in 2 days and i will learn everything from your videos
Thanks The Star, good luck with the new job. If you have question dont hesitate to ask.
Hello, I just want to thank you for making videos like this. It really helps and makes me a little less worried about the job I'm about to start in January as I feel more prepared thanks to you ☺
But I'm 16 and I'm still a little bit concerned about how will people act to such a young waitress and if they'll be rude or not :(
Don't worry! People in general are nice but off course you will encounter some rude people as well! Just brush it off your shoulders and move on! I hope you do some practice as well and the best thing is to join the free online class at the www.thewaitersacademy.com and learn as much as you can about the job! Then everyone will love you, because no one will expect a 16 years old girl to know and do all those things :)
Best of luck!
Thank you so much! I love and agree with your method of handling a tray.
Sir I am from Nepal , a south asian country between India and China. I am working as a waiter in a hotel ( lodge). Your videos are really helping in my job.

Hi friend! Love this video. I'm still in the middle of my server training for my restaurant and the tray has been haunting me since my first day. Dropped a drink on my first night (on me though, not the guest) and have been nervous ever since. I will definitely try this out on my next day and hopefully things go much better!
Practice at home, Issac! It gets better with time and practice!
Thank you! I learn a lot from you.
Thanks a lot, Marie! All the best!

Thank you so much sir
You are very welcome Mamamia :)
Thank you so much for your lesson
You are very welcome!
Agree with other comments that say unloading is trickier. I tend to unload so that the weight remains evenly distributed and adjust slightly as I unload. But it always feels little bit of a gamble
Unloading is much trickier than loading! True! With time and practice everything gets much easier! I hope you are feeling way better now serving drinks!
Very helpful for f&b service guys
Thanks Ankush!
This is so helpful 😢im starting my first job at 5 star restuarant and im terrified especially of using a tray my first attempt of using it a my former job i dropped everything that was on the tray after that i never attempted to so im so grateful for this video

Gonna be a server at Olive Garden where our plates are hella heavy! And loading and unloading drinks scare me the most because of how easy it is to lose balance!
Congratulations, Amy! The Gardens are not a easy job but you will learn a lot and get better faster because you won't have a choice :) :) :)

Great video

Thank you very much
You are welcome, Zainabu!
I am a trainee as hotel specialist and currently in restaurant department, there is basically no training, you just watch and they say can you please bring 10 wines to that one table? And I am like how? I have never done it in my life, deep inside I know I can't do it. Being confident doesn't work when you "DON'T KNOW HOW" to do it. Like in this video it has to he explained and then carry 3 to 4 glasses at the beginning then add more and more as you find the balance and get confident. I have bought a tray and 10 wine glasses and couple of big beer glasses and I am practicing by myself at home watching such videos. Thanks for the video 👍
Confidence comes from knowledge and experience! You are doing the right thing! Best of luck!
Perfect well done ✔️
Thanks ✌️
Thank you so much lol! The last thing I want to do is accidentally have everything tip over and make a scene in the FOH.
Well it might still happen but it happens to all of us at some point. Just appologize and move on
🔥 🔥 wow wonderful
Thank you, Eric!
First day when i started in restaurant i carry the tray in a funny way . I want to say thank u .
Welcome
It’s a very easy for me to carry a tray with drinking bottle, empty glasses & also full of drink glasses.
I love your videos😂
Thanks a lot
Thanks..
Cool one again 😊🤩
👌
Thanks
Welcome
I always have struggle carrying the tray with fingers because i always feel paranoid the drinks will spill out, thank you so much for the tips! I wish i watched this video befored i spilled 2 cups of beer and bottle of applefruit over my customer's head :(
No worries, Ryan, we all have done something similar. If you feel more comfortable carrying the tray with your palm, just keep doing it. The fingers give you more flexability but it is not mandatory!
Good luck!
thank u sir
Welcome, Rawjoo
Thank you so much for ur video. I live in London, UK should I still carry the tray in my left hand or should I carry the tray in my right hand?
You are welcome Oliver! We carry the drink tray in right hand with no exceptions! The food tray with plates you should carry with your strong hand but ultimately with the hand you feel more comfortable! I carry it with right hand! Some use left! In the books for example is written differently! In Austria they teach you left hand! In USA is with right hand!
If you carry food platter, you have to use your left hand so you can serve the items with your right hand from the left side of the guests!
I hope that was helpful! Best of luck!
Awesome Ned😂😂
Thanks Mohammed!
Thanks man! Excelent video and also funny :)
Appreciate that, Juanjo! Thanks and good luck!
Nice
Prabashu Rabha, thanks a lot!
U are a genius I like ur style wish 2 be like DAT in no time

Me started watching today 😄
Thanks Saja! I hope you are way better now than four years ago :)
Very Nice
Thank you Md.Saidur!
very nice
Thanks Sunil Chauhan!
The pub I work in has tiny trays so there's no space to hold and it's hard to balance plus they load the trays then put the tickets on so we can't load our own, now I know why it's so difficult...
3:35 tbh i do that when the tray is ultra heavy, beer glasses are a pain
true
Depends on a bar tray how you will handle.. and its quantity of the items that you will served...
Good
Jagath Bagdash, thanks a lot.
Lmao 3:33 is definitely me right now. I’m trying I’m trying. Such a shame now that I see you demonstrating this
It's all good! It is just a matter of time and practice!
wow!
:)
Do you rwcommend the strongest őr the weaker hand to put under the tray
Thank you so much sir..I am going to work in hotel... first day what will happen don't know..will I able to handle the tray and other things or not.. confused...
We have all started here Sandeep Layek, keep your head up and do your best. Don't give up and it will get better with every other day. Good luck!
Thanku so much sir I will apply job for waiter l get knowledge
I’m a new server, I’ve never carried trays before this job and a couple days ago I had to carry about 8 drinks on a tray, I knew I couldn’t do it but they kept telling me to try. When I pulled the jack out trying to put the tray down all the drinks just ripped over to one side, I was so embarrassed, traumatized now I don’t even wanna carry it at all. Plus the feta safe triple size the small ones 😪
Love from India ❤️😍😍
Love back Bareh
Sir thank you for the video but I wish to ask if it’s possible to carry few then come back to carry the rest?
It is not really possible! By the time you carry the first drinks, the other will go flat! Imagine you have six draft beers and you want to carry first three and then the other three....what will happen with the foam and all. But if you don't feel safe or the tray will be too heavy, you should do exactly that! Until you learn how to carry loaded tray! Good luck!
What size of a tray would you recommend to me to practice with at home? 😅😊
I am still to use a funny way to serve😊
cool
:)
I have been working as a waitress for about two years and I can't still get the tray that way so I have to leave it on the table and serve. I practiced and all that stuff but I still don't have the right balance I can do it just if I have a small amount of drinks in it. And yeah I want to learn but it's seems just to difficult and sometimes it's an embarrassing thing. I don't know if it's the tray or not but every time I carry it in the way that you do it seems like my drinks are slipping off.... Any tips??
nice
Tanks Nepali
I might have to carry it the funny way for my first day 😭😭
YOu are allowed....for the first three days! 😜 Then you have to be a pro! Good luck!
Can I carry exactly the way you do with your right hand in a fine dining environment? Serve the guest from the left?
The drink tray should be carried with the laft hand and the drinks should be served with the right hand from the right side of the guest! This is the protocol!
On one of my first days as a waiter when I was 15 I put the tray with the drinks on the table. 1/3 of the tray was over the edge. So I stupidly took the drinks from the inside of the tray out first and cause the drinks to spill all over a chair. Thank god it was empty but it was pretty embarassing lol
I bet you have learned from that :)
"...which is really...ridiculous!' 🤣🤣🤣
🙄
Unloading around a table is different to unloading to one spot I find. Because I might have several different drinks, and because I'm trying to keep balance on my tray, I have to make choice to either give drinks to patrons who are sitting next to each other, or go back and forth around the table.... I've had bad experience spilling ice water all over an old lady so always try to work so that I don't spill anything...
The etiquette requires to go around and serve the guests ladies first and then gentlemen but if your restaurant doesn't really requires that you follow the etiquette, you can go the shortest way of course!
@@TheWaitersAcademy yeah I try to serve ladies first. But my restaurant is not strict about thay
