The good thing about purchasing the tool is having it there at your convenience, you can do the jobs when it suits you rather than having to do a job when your not in the mood for it just because it’s on hire and needs to go back. Then if it is a larger purchase in cost then once your sure you are definitely finished with the tool you can easily sell it on and recoup some money. I purchased a wacker plate as I have a few jobs in the garden regarding paving, garage base and driveway that I have planned over the next 2 years, just having it there let’s me do it in my spare time and at my leisure rather than having to go pick it up and drop it off each time I need it.
I bought the £99 one from screw fix to remove a load of concrete before laying a patio, used it for two days then sold it for £65. Cheaper than renting, no worries about completing it quickly to save on rental fees or the weather turning and delaying things and it does a decent job, much quicker than going at it with the sds!
I used the titan one this week to break up some driveway and old concrete fence posts. I got about 90% of the job done then realised that the wide chisel made it twice as easy!
I bought a Workzone breaker from Aldi a couple of months ago when it was on sale for £99! Amazing bit of kit and couldn't believe how good it was for the price, should last forever and no hassle having to ring around to hire one.
bought one few months ago and its my best purchase in years. its so calming for my soul to just go out cracking some rocks anytime i want. and get a hella workout lol
I remember working on the Council (roads) early 70's and we used to use those old Giant Compressor 'Bone-shakers' that didn't even have the 'jackets' to soften the noise and vibrations .... Those were the days ;-)
I've had 3 of the titan ones for about 8 years now and never missed a beat and they've broke up some heavy gear just keep them serviced and they earn you a fortune👏👏👏👏👏👍
Just bought it from tool station I have a lot of concrete posts to dig up got one up with chisel and hammer very hard work, and I am 70, cant wait for it to come so I can get rest of them up.

I only put it up just over a year ago and behind it was all old posts I have dug up, all up now just have to get new conrete posts and dig the new holes, was hard work, but made it easier with it, when i dug the old posts up there were loads of concrete every were, and the groaud was getting pools of water it seems to have drained away, must have been all the concrete in the ground,hard work and I am70 years old :)

I must be mad or tight with money. I'm 66 and used a good old sledge hammer to get through about 6" of concrete earlier this year. I must plan for an easier retirement.
I got mine recently from that rainforest company for about $140US. It came with PPE AND my favorite bit: a clay spade. I bought it to dig out portions of my yard, which is clay with some small rocks. It's a nightmare to dig, but this thing losens it up and makes it simple to just scoop out. And it turns out I needed it to break up some concrete too. Bonus! I agree, officially, money well-spent.
I brought one of these under the name of Sparky classed as German made about 12 years ago, i'm a pro landscaper so it's had some hammer and it's still going strong would be lost without it.
Tried a cheap Toolstation SDS but that failed so returned it. Got the SF Titan version which seems to be holding-up, but just not man enough for breaking the solid sandstone bed upon which I'm building a garden room. So I got the MacAlister version of this hammer and haven't looked back. What a time saver. Only problem is the physical effort sometimes required to extract it from the earth. Frequent rest periods are essential! But, as you say, let the tool do the work. In fact it needs the body to be unloaded in order for the tool to fully oscillate and get the most cutting power.
My builders had the task of busting out my kitchen floor. I was surprised when they broke out two titan 15kg breakers. Took them 2 days to get 20sqm down 400mm. Noise was unreal.
I can confirm that using one of these for two or more days straight is brutal! That's mostly because you have to bend over all the time, especially if you're tall though. My brother has a blue one and the first job I used it on was breaking up an 8" slab from the mid-1980s for new drains over a weekend. Thankfully we had two of them because one of the people got the chisel stuck and we had to use the other one to free it. Last time I used it was this year, breaking up a bathroom floor, also up to 8" in spots (someone had the brilliant idea to raise the bath off the floor by pouring another 4" of concrete on top of the slab). The chuck is called SDS Hex and only seems to be used by these cheap breakers but chisel bits are easily available online. DIY stores round here don't tend to have them in stock though.
As I said in an earlier post I had the draper one which apart from being blue looks almost identical. Bought from a tool fair on special offer, used on my demolition and build and sold on for almost what I paid and with 18 months of the warranty left and looking like new. I'd buy another one without any hesitation.
Depends really. If your doing a lot of this work buy a Bosch as they have power and aren’t as heavy. If it’s just a one off job then get a cheap machine but there usually very heavy and bulky. I use my BOSCH GSH 11VC every day and it takes a lot of abuse, still going strong.
Just got the last one from my local toolstation, there were 3 there this morning.......... At the same time I picked it up a guy was coming out of the screwfix next door with the titan for £179.... I just paid £119 for this one.... I have a job lined up for it as I have to put some surface water drainage in...
Use the wide chisel, its make the job much much easier, point chisel is to break large rocks or concrete to pieces when there is no space for the rock to go (tight spaces)
PS i enquired about the cost of hiring one last week,it was £37.50 for the weekend, but the chisels were a seperate hire as was the transformer and the extension lead, so i bought one instead for around the same price, il lsell it when i've finished and get some money back.
Bought one last week arrived in a couple of days. Broke up a 2m x 6mx 100mm shed foundation in about an hour. Went through easy more effort putting it down to remove the rubble. Broke up and 200mm wide x 500mm deep x 6m wall foundation took about 4 hours same day but flagging by then. Great buy thanks for the video.
Did u try to broke stone with this machine? I have really hard stone to break but I don't know it will be good choice to buy this machine, plaese help with experience.
The chisel bit works best and mine has lasted for years but you need to keep packing grease into it, not oil.from new it didnt have enough in it. also i have regularly used mine like a crowbar with no issues!
No, but it will separate bamboo root balls that have grown attached to masonry where there’s plenty of stone and to use a grinder would be financially suicidal. Be careful hiring a grinder, chances are the cutters will be blunt to begin with and you will be charged a sharpening fee when you return it. Best option is to bring a firm in and let them have the worry of maintenance. It’s not just grinding the stump but protective shields etc, stone shoot away and break all kinds of things, the contractor will have all the equipment.
I borrowed one very similar to this to break some concrete up around rotted garden fence posts. I managed to get the chisel wedged in and no amount of 'waggling' would remove it. Lucky for me, my mate has more ingenuity to me and with aid of a shortened scaffold pole and make shift fulcrum managed to shift it - a bit like removing the sword from the stone.
Hi I have used this a few times and today, the chisel is all oily, and you can not see any oil in the glass window, has the seal gone on it as its only about 10 days old
LOL - I've got the 6.5KG version, in truth I can barely lift the thing. I have amused my nephews on occasion by threatening to drill a rawlplug hole with it. One time I was drilling out some driveway concrete and I managed to wedge it, the drill was stuck solid! I had to retreat inside and frantically google while my bemused neighbours chatted and pointed out in the front. In the end I went out and told them I was forming a piece of conceptual art but I don't think they believed me. Eventually I smashed it free with a Scottish adjustment tool. A most embarassing incident!
This model is a chinese copy of a Hitachi H65. I wouldnt be surprised if you could interchange parts. I've seen some with fake Hitachi labels. The reviews say reliability is decent.
@@TheRestorationCouple i just actually bought a sds drill rotary hammer type. 800 watt. Looks exactly like bosch gbh 26mm dfr. 100 110 120 usd. Instead of 200 250 usd in israel for bosch. Just different color scheme and hunter logo. Its has the exact same performance but obviously won't last as long. For a home owner these smaller companies are just perfect👌
i've been using Einhel products for years. No problems. They get the job done. The only device i wouldn't buy from Einhel is their drills. Not so good as the rest products.
You can regrind the tips with a bench grinder or even an angle grinder as they wear, you should be able to do it several times before you need to replace the bit

I just put the wife and kids on the area to work and tell them the credit card tv and internet got to go, all the foot stamping has job jobbed in minutes, no cheap import tools just pure british innovation :-) Anyway stop using the new baby and weddings as excuse for your current go slow work ethics :-) Have a good weekend and get some bloody work done ....

I had the draper version of this which was almost identical and used it to demolish an old extension. Absolutely worth the money.

Einhell are the OEM for most the Aldi titanium and Lidl tools. I think Draper rebrand these too.

einhell are not an oem, they are a brand like draper and simply rebranding from a chinese oem same as rest are doing .

i modified one of the bits to drive wood pegs in ground it works very well

make sure you top up hydraulic oil (£4 from toolstation for 1L)

No I don’t think it would be much good for that. Unless it was very hard and dry and it split, but I imagine it would just wedge itself in there.

It does not break up 120mm deep concrete bases. Just tried it, and no joy.

Why not just use a sds/rotary hammer drill?
I have for the past 5 years but they really are not designed for 6” concrete! This is a different beast all together and has saved hours already.
