This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.
Mine came in a black plastic case with two little wheels, 4 bits, and enough oil for 20-30 hours of operation. Highly recommend hearing protection along with the googles.
I was just given a Chicago Electric 62811, free, 'cause it didn't work. I mounted a hardware store pushbutton switch and will be trying it out soon, with my Champion 3600 w generator, with RV outlet. I will be digging a roadside ditch thru shale, which seems to break up fairly easily. Will also be using a Harbor Freight SDS hammer drill to drill holes for water to freeze and maybe use some of that "expanding grout", such as Geo-Break or whatever I can find at Lowes.
Interesting, though I can't treat this a serious review because all jackhammer usage requires, at a minimum, 1 person leaning against a shovel doing nothing. Now, to be fair, with the tight camera framing, there might have been 1 (or more!) persons leaning against shovels doing nothing, in which case, I apologize! Seriously, I thought the harbor freight demo hammer was inexpensive (cheap?), but this wins. Nice concise review and demonstration. Guess the only remaining question is durability.
Hahaha love this. Yes true durability test would have to come from more breaking than what I have available on all of my property. I have thought about renting this out locally and seeing how long it can survive that abuse.
Video idea. I'm wondering if you might be interested in doing a video using a demo hammer to drive T posts for fencing? I need to install about 150 of them and doing it manually would do me in. Wondering if a modification could be made todo the job and how easy it would be. How heavy is the one you bought?
I didn't have the goggles and mask and my instruction booklet was completely generic. I'm a noob so I didn't have a clue on what the springs were for and how to put oil.
How about doing a test with one of the add-on compaction plates you can buy for these jackhammers? I'm looking for a cheap compactor small Paver and patioblock jobs
I have this hammer and it's very good for the price. Not going to bust thru 6" quality cement with ease. Knowing the right tool and how to chip, you can get small jobs done. Not going to replace my 50 - 90 lb. Air Breaks. For the DIY guys, buy it. ❤
Just like you I have a rotary hammer drill that I use to break up basalt rocks (hard). Whenever I drive and see a large rock I just want to get out of the car and demolish it.
EDIT: On the posting, it only says 2200 watts. I was thinking the same thing. I would need to use this with a generator that only has 15 amp plugs. 3500 watts at 15 amps would mean 440v
I bought this a few months back. It's likely fine for concrete, but it's absolutely horrendous for limestone. Like just effective enough to not be worthless, but takes forever to chip pieces off.
@@ChadsCustomCreations I ran mine directly connected to a generator since most of my rocks are far from the house. I've since got a tractor and I'm using a combination of a subsoiler to pop rocks out and a rock trencher to grind them down. I'm hoping to have a rock free property in the next 2-3 years.
You’re right this is not for a professional crew, but mine is still holding up. I made an attachment for mine to drive metal lifetime fence post into the ground I think I did about 48 of them still going strong.
the instructions talk about grease and also oil. is that interchangable? i noticed that there's grease where you insert the bits so I'm wondering if you're supposed to add grease there also??
The instructions are pretty awful, as far as I know oil goes in that chamber with the glass window. The metal parts are most likely covered in grease when delivered this keeps them from rusting in the factory and warehouse. I don’t think the grease is necessary on the ends of the bits but it wouldn’t hurt and might even prolong the life of them.
That thing is JUNK! So is the Harbor Freight one too. They both failed on me and they vibrate the living snot out of you, which caused my neck to hurt... went and bought the Makita AVP.
I love my Makita tools too, I am seeing the Makita AVT jackhammer is $2,000 so for a business owner who can write it off as a tax write off that might be the better choice, but for the average joe at 13x the cost of the vevor, the Makita might be over kill depending on the work needing to be done.

Yes I totally agree not for the professional but definitely good for the occasional job.
Same bad link as in the other videos.
Thank you for the heads up, can you tell me what the link is doing? I tried it from my phone in the US and it seems to be working for me.
@@ChadsCustomCreations It's going to a picture (not even a video) of person using a jig saw.
Had no idea this thing even existed. Definitely need one for my remodeling projects.
Same here, I figured these things must cost $1000 or more but you can literally get this one for the price of a rental.

That's a great idea! Can't remember the weight off the top of my head but I though I showed that in the video somewhere.
You can get a ground rod attachments to drive steel pins in ground to hold formwork
Great idea

That’s a shame
@@ChadsCustomCreations thanks to your video I managed to do the job I had to. The equipment works very well for the price aside that.
@@gglobensky awesome glad to hear it thanks for the update!
wow 6 inches thick, I just ordered one, I need to remove 4 inch concrete garage floor that is cracked and heaved.
My new concrete floor has been poured.
I removed 12x12 feet. 4 inch thick.
It worked very well, I'll probably sell it now.
Wow that was a big job for it glad to hear it worked so well. If you can’t sell it maybe you can rent it out locally.
Ordered one of these. I wonder how it will perform on a driveway concrete full of mesh.
Mesh will definitely be tough. Might be worth looking at the concrete saw harbor freight has also.

It’s pretty fun getting to hold that much power!
I feel the same way!
But I don't yet have a jack hammer nor a rotary hammer drill, so it's been quite harsh on my knuckles.
@@godfreypoon5148 😮
How deep of a hole can you make for fencing purposes?
I guess as deep as you are willing to go. I made an attachment and used it to drive big metal fencing post into the ground 24” deep into GA clay.
The end… “you’re a UA-camr?” 😂😂
It’s pretty cute my kids seem to think I am famous 🤣
3500w is 30A. How does that not blow your circuit breaker?
Yeah I am not really sure but on the listing it says current is 13amps so it never tripped my breakers

I oh interesting. Sounds like fun work I recently got a small tractor and love any excuse to get out there and ride it.
My guess would be home owners grade. Id like to see it put to use for 3-4 hours straight and see if it holds up.

That I wanna see!
My small bosch cost me 3 times that much...except it is a demo/hammer drill combo.
Bosch will outlast this by a factor of 10.
@Scott Slotterbeck I have 3 bosch drills that have lasted me well over 10 years...

is it normal that the air outlet (that round black vent) gets pretty hot?
You know I’ve never noticed that, I think as long as you have the oil inside the chamber everything should be running the way it should.
How many watts?
I think this is the 3,000w or something close to that.
