    Being a complete Novice and unfit at 72 now 76, my advice to someone new is getting a dropper post and when climbing steep tight rocky corners get prepared to get off your Saddle and towards the front of it. Plus wear Knee/Elbow Guards of some sort, it will save you a ton of grief.

    I've been developing good techniques.

    Not sure why I’m watching except it’s Easter and I’m worn out after riding and you always have great vids.
    Anyway ... you should do a how to bail vid soon. Quite honestly one of the best bits of advice I ever got and saved me serious injury countless times since. I wish I’d learned earlier instead of riding the bike into the ground.

    What do you think about the Btwin xc 50 ltd ? It has similar parts like high branded bikes at the same price range but only weights at 12,5kg and has a 100mm air fork instead of a 100mm coil fork like scott does.

      Have you tried looking on the app Trailforks? this app will give you a lot of nearby trails that you may not have known of before. If trails are still too far away I'd talk to a local bike shop or one in the area, and see if they know of some good trails. If all else fails, a lot of fun can be had riding street as well. You can almost treat your mtb like a bmx and try different tricks or getting over/down certain obstacles. It can be a lot of fun.

      One way to find out is check out KevCentral on you tube, he does reviews about big box brand bikes and upgrades. Then you can choose both and decide which you like the best and keep both or give the one you don't like to a kid and if you decide this is going to be your thing, you will know what to step up to when you decide to buy a more advanced bike. You are going to love this family, I road bike also but the mtn folks are way more friendly and sociable and will help you anyway they can, it is like a brotherhood. Good luck and may God bless.

    • @Handler4071
      @Handler4071 5 років тому

      20% without much loose gravels/sand plus the fact he used lower tire pressure and very low gear makes it pretty ridable actually. So video could look deceiving but i believe its realy steep climb.

  • @JimmyTAus1
    @JimmyTAus1 4 роки тому +1

    Terrible advice to change gears on steep climbs, puts too much stress on the chain and can lead to a snapped chain and a nose dive into the dirt. Predict what gear you will need before the climb and stick with it
