I owned that car and unfortunately had nothing but problems. Wouldn’t start when hot, constant leaks, horrible faulty electrical and ended up blowing up after I spent thousands fixing faulty injectors... apart from that it was a really comfy and refined car for the money lol

I did 215k kms and haven't had a single problem with it.

@@travisfs7526 engine nota start because u have problem whith alternator or electromotor. First verify the alternator and after that electromotor. I belive u have a vw forum in your country, search over there and ask, they know that problem.
U dont tell us what tipe of leakes have. Maibe it is only an orings....
If u dont have a vw forum, search vwforum.ro at english section and ask over there. It is a topic special for that problem in romanian leanguage, but i dont know If in english section it is topic. Anyway, u ask and someone answer your question 100%.

Im proud to say,1.9 tdi is a very reliable engine,my dad owned a golf mk4 1.9tdi for 12 years and the only expensive thing he changed was a turbo(beacuse he was using it a lot in urban traffic) and a cluch kit.
Official 105 HP but in real sometimes even 118!!! Thats power gift which give u only Volkswagen...

I have one Golf v 1.9 TDI stage 1 💯
Best diesel engine ever made.
I have it in a Golf V that already has already 312.000 km and works perfectly, averaging 5,3 l/100km (measuring it when I refuel) and same oil consumption as new.
I remember when I bought it testing it against some of my friends cars and it was as fast doing the 0-100 km/h as a Saab 9.3 1.9Tid with 150hp.
Also, the gear ratios were perfect (but I wish it had 6 gears to make a bit less noise in highway driving). Nowadays all cars have long gears to save fuel and emissions and you loose a lot of punch.
I drive a 2005 Golf V 1.9 TDI, 450.000 KM, average of 4.0 Lt/100 km and the car still reaches 200 km/h... The engine is perfect, I keep it clean and I change oil regularly. I just love that car

Most of the autobahn nowadays is limited because of construction noise prevention and such
You're only allowed to drink beer and wine stuff without much alkohol in them, stronger stuff is 18+.

xXSCARFACE1983Xx der 1.9TDI ist ja auch ein Rennwagen weißt du. Der hier ist net ganz so gut. Normalerweise laufen die Motoren schon so 250-260. Junge, das ist ein Motor zum Sprit sparen, und zum angenehmen, voralm ruhigen Fahrcomfort.

2010 Jetta 5 cylinder taught me about autobahn breeding. Truly better at speed.
I had my max 211 km/h tacho with same engine but in Octavia 2 Combi. I like him so much. On long journeys i have ~4,3 L/100km and its more powerful in real life than it seems to be.

I have a Golf 5 same engine and it's normal first 3 gears are explosive I found 4th and 5th very long gears it's good for fuel economy in highways. Here in Portugal max speed is 120kmh in high ways. At 120kmh I the engine is at like 20k rotations per minute

Horsepower = speed, torque = acceleration. HP: 90. Torque: 200 lb/ft
It's the speedo. Everyone gets fooled and no one notices it. 0 to 100 is half the dial, while the other half is 100 to 260. The needle goes "quicker" because the numbers are more spread apart 😉

Back then on vwvortex, they spun up the block at over 8000rpm. Actually they ended up using an it with big port heads from the 1.8t, to make more powerful 1.8, because it was much stronger.

The TDI engine was revved externally, with an electric motor. After that, only the bottom was used, for a gasoline 1.8t Audi build.
And my diesel engine revs up to 5700 rpm...

what did you like more? Jetta or Audi A4 1.9? on audi, it seems like the gear ratios are longer, so it accelerated to 220 km / h. but Jetta at low speed seems to be more fun? and the motor works more elastic as it seemed to me from the video.

My 2000 seat cordoba vario 1.9 tdi with the famous vp90 engine, with 5 speed gearbox also does 190km/h(Techometer) completly stock, it shouldnt do that speed with its age but shes healthy at almost 300k´s, not even a bit of smokes, for my first car im pretty happy with it

We had a 2005 sadly it crashed and we took the engine out, used it as a generator for years,
Covid came and I couldn't. Afford a car soo bought a 500 dollar chassis and dropped that old diesel on it. It still runs after 400k miles

How do you Europeans know if a 2 lane road is opposing or same direction traffic? In the US, we have a double yellow line , meaning opposing traffic and no passing, and a dotted yellow line, meaning opposing traffic, but okay to pass when clear. And the white dotted line means same way traffic, lane swapping okay, while solid white line, means same direction, but no merging. I feel like I’d be confused as to which way the traffic in the left lane is supposed to go
I have the same car with a tune it puts out around 140hp 300ft/lbs of torque. Wish I could test on the autobaun I've only had it up to 110mph but it was still pulling pretty hard with a full car.
Why does it top out at 200kph? It seems to have revs to spare. Is it because the power/torque drops off a cliff after 4k rpm and it literally can't pull any more speed, or is there a speed limiter?
Probably too late but this car produces too torque at 1800 rpm and top hp at 4000

I love this car, have it for about 3 years, it's so funny, it's like 105hp , but it goes so well, it's perfect for a daily, looks cool too with tinted windows and GT alloys! Love it!

I have golf mk5 Tdi same engine , code could be different I hit 238 km/h max , more should do with chip tune and some upgrades on stage one or two , yeah and 6 gear is missing too , but is good for 77kw engine

no power for 6th gear, stronger versions tdi 115and 131hp had 6 gears.

I own this car since 2008 but with the automatic transmission. I got the sport mode but never tried it because max speed in my country is 120 😃
