  • Video showing the time difference between Srt and Drt on a tree course. If you haven't seen my single rope vs two rope video I would advice watching that first. Hope you enjoy!

Great vids. Straight to the point. I like using an srt line for access then use drt in the crown with the srt as a follower (seeing as we need the extra line anyway now). Best of both worlds. Easy access with easy movement in the crown.

Great video and content. Thanks for putting this together. I'm a new subscriber from Vermont, USA. Cheers!

Thank you so much judson, I would love to work in the US at some point in my career. I'm not a massive fan of the heat so I wouldn't want to go somewhere too hot. I love rock climbing and hiking and climbing giant trees, so somewhere like that.

@@TPOTTS_TREES Sounds great! Nothing that giant here on the East coast, but I hope to get out West to do some big tree climbing one day too! Keep up your great videos! #subscriberforlife

No problem, it is an interesting conversation. I'll try and think of more interesting concepts to make videos on in the future.
      Thanks for watching

I think the confusion comes from the terminology you are using. I had a conversation with someone about this. We came to the consensus that we should use the terms MRS, moving rope system, for a "Double rope system" and SRS for, a single rope system. So, the biggest confusion might be that we say double rope system when we are only using a single rope. It is essentially a single rope system except it is moving around an anchor point in the canopy, hence moving rope system. We can say that it is a single rope doubled over that anchor point, but it is moving. Anyway, that's my bit. Thanks for your videos.

      Love the videos CaptainHook!
Yeh, the terminology can be confusing especially when every calls it different things at this point.

Really interesting set of videos, thank you.
You can still put a knee ascender on when going up like that DRT, I have a Haas for that. You don't get such big steps but sharing the work between both legs is a lot better.

That would be interesting to try, as you could see the times were close it was just how tired I was from the drt accent so that could help with that, thanks for watching ✌️

If you’re gonna spend the time to use ascenders you may as well get the efficiency of SRS… don’t see the point of using MRS other than the fact that it’s quick

    • @TPOTTS_TREES
      @TPOTTS_TREES  2 роки тому +1

@@jackberdine In my opinion, SRS is superior due to it being better on your body and it's quicker in most cases. It can be a scary transition though if you've climbed MRS your whole career however so it really comes down to what ever works for the individual ✌️

@@TPOTTS_TREES yea i never use MRS

It's hard to watch people who don't use a knee and foot ascender together. It makes life so simple.

My primary way of climbing is foot ascender and knee ascender srt. From observing other climbers and how they climb I wanted to use this platform as a way to showcase faster and economical ways of climbing so I do agree with that statement

    VERB
emulated (past tense) · emulated (past participle)
match or surpass (a person or achievement), typically by imitation:
"most rulers wished to emulate Alexander the Great"
    :)
For ascending the double ropes a french prussic is best, adjust the amount of wraps for desired bite, as you say it should be longer to allow you to push further up the rope. you can of course use another prussic for your feet instead of foot locking :) Rock climbing technique.
