Cool idea putting the petzl open-ring on the zigzag, I gotta try that

A notch quickie has a similar benefit and its easier to install. The ring open is very hard to get in there. I prefer the ring open because the quickie is steel

I am a beginner and literally learning from the ground up (so to speak) and this was VERY helpful. I got interested in this because I have several tools that I made myself for trimming my trees and then I heard about a chain saw rope and have been using it, but THIS is what I am going to do next for sure, so I have to learn all about it first.

Wow. Genius with the biner. Mine has the 2 closed rings so I’ll throw a biner on the large ring and see how that goes. Not as nice as your set up I but I think it will work.

Another great instructional video! I was wondering about your choice to use a figure 8 descender as a ring on your harness rope bridge... I've actually set up mine in the same way as it serves the dual purpose of bridge ring and emergency belay device, reducing clutter by combining most used with least used (hopefully) piece of metal slung on my harness. Was that your intention or you do it for something else?

Thanks for commenting. I tried it out to have an extra attachment point to use. For example, there is a technique that requires an extra clip in point when coming back in from a big limb walk. But your thoughts are great also.

Do you have a video on making your saddles bridge adjustable?

All you need is a CT rollnlock or a wildcountry ropeman or some equivalent. Very easy to do. Check out my video on SRT technique for another view of how I use the wild country ropeman

Hello, what type of rope do you use, rather semi static or dynamic?

When not using the anchor is the tree abrasive to the rope?

Nice video, thanks for making it. I see a lot of videos on climbing. Everyone has their own technique that fits them best, which is understandable. What I don’t see a lot on is how to properly wear a climbing belt and adjust it and items that would be best to have with you. You touched upon it a little when you readjusted your bridge, good tip there.

Pro tip: Its actually easier to walk up the tree with a lanyard aka buck strap around tree.
