For some reason in my head, it seems almost disrespectful in a way. I know it’s there job and he is doing his job etc. that is why I don’t know if I could sit there and listen to day after day of this type of questioning.
When the defence team did their opening statements what made me laugh was when he accidentally said you are to put a guilty verdict then corrects himself not guilty lol even the defence is not convinced his innocent 😉
So open-and-shut that the State was too scared to try it for over a decade? So open-and-shut that the first trial resulted in a mistrial? Let’s hope you never get picked for jury duty…
When I heard he wore a police costume at Halloween I thought he was in trouble. But then I saw the costume. Nobody could be fooled into believing this was a real uniform.
Judge Sabella is so nice. He reminds me of Winnie the Pooh but with an excellent legal brain. Even in the Steven Lorenzo sentencing, he was calm and polite, and treated Mr Lorenzo with dignity, whether he deserved it or not.
It appears that the prosecutor jumped the gun when she depicted the defendant twice in a row... of being upset when the police lacked leads on the investigation of his attackers. She followed up by saying that he independently investigated online and by talking to the locals, but that doesn't necessarily conclude being upset in any direct fashion. "Concerned" would've been a properly assumed description or if the prosecutor said "like practically anyone, Michael would've been upset" or "it's easy to conclude the chance of Michael becoming upset." Granted, I know attorneys aren't obligated to separate facts from speculations on every last occasion, but I would have in her position on this one.

You think _this guy_ should've been found guilty? Even though, in a test that does not rely on his self-report or his own effort, it was shown that he didn't have the dexterity to fire the weapon? (And by his treating physician, not someone it could be argued was hired for trial to say that.) The way this case was tainted by that text message _alone,_ let alone the improper second line-up, goes along way to reasonable doubt for me. The victims saw Michael all the time, yet _no one_ identified him on the night of the shooting. And it's not as though it's impossible -- or even unlikely -- that someone else did it. These guys were heavily involved in criminal activity in a rough part of town, just sitting outside their houses. People are gunned down like that _every day._

You think this will horrify them for years, when they most likely can't recall the days discussions by that night. Not everyone has suitable childcare or the means to afford this, much less for a six week period. And maybe she wasn't comfortable being away from her children for that lengthy period of time. I'm sure the mother knows more about her children than you do Miss Priss...
@@ellybean5868 agree! I can’t believe how many people are commenting on that
why are their children in the court room behind the defendant, ?
Wondering the same thing?!
I wonder as well
Maybe they are his children, or relatives of his. Maybe they are his grandchildren and his daughter wants to be there for her Dad, but doesn't have or can't afford childcare. Don't be so judgemental. Not everyone comes from the same means. If this was his daughter I'm sure she wanted to be there for her Dad.
This happened in 2010 and he’s just now getting his day in court? Why was the first trial in 2020? That’s insane! They just need to give him time served and call it a day bc if he’s innocent that’s going to be a massive lawsuit
defense lawyer is so annoying it's going to hurt the defendant.
Why are there children in the courtroom?
💯
Have the Police found the 3 persons who robbed and shot the defendant? 🤔
I'm sure that is irrelevant. In the U.S. our system favors the criminals
That first witness needs an antidepressant! Every blink of his eye is long enough for a short nap. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He didn’t kill the guy he wanted to kill. So there’s that…And, He’s definitely a vigilante. Who walks up and shoots 6 people who hadn’t done a thing to him?
He was angry then, and I imagine he is even angrier now. He would definitely be a danger to someone if he were out…
He shot six people who had not done anything to him? That is not a vigilante, that is a spree shooter. A vigilante targets bad people, not innocents.
@@demosmash yeahhh sure let’s trust the stalkers to know who in society is a “good” or “bad” person… I’m sure nobody will take advantage of that and jump to murder before other solutions (as opposed to now when that kind of thing is rightfully illegal)

I gotta say the defence lawyer doing the opening statement is very good, and he looks alot like the actor John LITHGOW -- anyone agree?
She does a lot of cases!
I have seen this judge before and love the way he conducts court and I believe I’ve seen this prosecuting attorney before as well and if it is the same person I’ve seen in the past she is also very professional.
Kids in there m who brings kids into something like this ?
Don’t know if he did it or care, but it seems like he’s winning in his defense so far. Good lawyers here

Why do I know this judge, what other televised case did he handle?
The husband who kidnapped his wife and tried to murder her and then represented himself!! 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you Jenn!
@@margaretschlagel7952 you’re welcome. Sorry I don’t remember his name, but it was an interesting one to watch, that’s for sure! I think this judge is great!
He did Trevor Summers/Matthew Terry/Steven Lorenzo
So many others
I Really like this judge. I have watched quite a few of his courts and he is always on top of things, yet is very nice to everyone.
Geezzz. Why is it that Every defense atty talks to the jury like they are uneducatated children. 😖🙄
Is the Defense lawyer’s strategy trying to muddy the water and confused the Jury or make them fall in love with his voice. If I was a juror, that would make me so mad.
wish the witnesses would talk INTO the microphone so frustrating when you cant hear them!!!
Thanks!
The Defense lawyer was arguing during opening statement and is testifying during cross-examination of second deputy.
This judge knows how to run a proper court room. He and everyone else stands to honor the Jury. (Not like that ol' school brother and most women from the SC Murdaugh case.)
That trial was so fubar. That judge over ruled or sustained. Which ever favored pros
But he worse bad deed, stopping at 1 hour for a break. Griffin came back, lost his place or MOJO. Day before had to listen he to Prosec. For 3h straight.
@Lynn Hauenstein that judge would be the judge you would want if you were "wrongfully accused".
@Roxy Moser yep, but I'm watching a case out of Kenosha. Judge Schrader. The Rittenhouse judge. But I've watched many cases out of FL. Always seem fair to me plus the lawyers comments. But then SC happened may be guilty but state never proved it. But obviously judge in the tank for prosecution.
Exactly! I have studied criminal trials for many years. The first case I watched where the judge didn't stand for the jury kind of shocked me. It seems like for some reason, there has been a shift in judges not standing. I am seeing it more and more, but I don't understand it. It makes it seem like they don't have respect for the jury.
How are these witness testimonies accurate after 12 years I am sure stories changed
They refresh their memories before trial by having them read the statements they gave police around the time of the crime.
Yeah stories change when people lie
Oh my gosh I just noticed it’s Judge Sabella!! ❤
Where was the defendant between 2010 and the first trial? Was he being held or was he out?
He’s been in jail all that time
I don’t think I could ever be a juror at this point. It just rubs me the wrong way when any attorney talks this way or questions this way. I would just hate to sit through it. For some reason in my head, it seems almost disrespectful in a way. I know it’s there job and he is doing his job etc. that is why I don’t know if I could sit there and listen to day after day of this type of questioning.
Why on earth did it take almost 13 fricking years to send this guy to trial?
This is his second trial. First trial was declared a mistrial.
Why are there children in the court audience?
When the defence team did their opening statements what made me laugh was when he accidentally said you are to put a guilty verdict then corrects himself not guilty lol even the defence is not convinced his innocent 😉
Why are children’s in a murder trial?
The defense attorney is a very capable lawyer. I’m enjoying his opening statement.
Dude was wearing the same costume they described the shooter to be wearing XD
A real-life batman! Oh wait, let's call him: "icecreaMan"!
Were it not for his writing style, he would've been a real vigilante crime stopper.
I am sooooooo happy, I love this judge!! I was hoping it would be him!
Why are two children in the court?!!!
How many days did this open and shut case take?
How manie closed minded people can you fit in a octopus?
So open-and-shut that the State was too scared to try it for over a decade? So open-and-shut that the first trial resulted in a mistrial? Let’s hope you never get picked for jury duty…
The defense guy is just too much.
He starts out really aggro, but calms down about halfway through each round.
@@Lexifer21 his testosterone injections probably wear out.
When I heard he wore a police costume at Halloween I thought he was in trouble.
But then I saw the costume. Nobody could be fooled into believing this was a real uniform.
Who brings kids to a murder trial?
Sympathy card
10 not guilty 2 guilty and the dude still has to face a new trial....
Yeah it’s called a hung jury
What’s sad is this happened in 2010 and the first trial was in 2020 and now a retrial in 2023. How much money are we going to spend on this case?
where is day 2 part 2????
These defence attorneys in every case their crosses are always forever.
Judge Sabella is so nice. He reminds me of Winnie the Pooh but with an excellent legal brain. Even in the Steven Lorenzo sentencing, he was calm and polite, and treated Mr Lorenzo with dignity, whether he deserved it or not.
It's impossible to guess the outcome in this case
Just catching up on this re trial! Been binge watching way late in the game the obsessive bf!
It’s crazy it’s taken this long to re try this case but I don’t feel bad I the least for him especially as he should have been found guilty and this done with the first time!
Lots of catching up to do!
Please get it right Judy!
My favorite judge ever!!!❤️
That BF trial is crazy! I am so confused with all the objections, it's every 20 min.
@@Beachbucket oh my gosh it is, it’s like a 3 ring circus 🤡 😂
You think _this guy_ should've been found guilty? Even though, in a test that does not rely on his self-report or his own effort, it was shown that he didn't have the dexterity to fire the weapon? (And by his treating physician, not someone it could be argued was hired for trial to say that.)
The way this case was tainted by that text message _alone,_ let alone the improper second line-up, goes along way to reasonable doubt for me.
@@Beachbucket It can't possibly be worse than Jodi Arias' trial, which was so bad that the hero of the court-watching internet a decade ago was a guy who reuploaded the footage with the sidebars cut out!

He was totally capable of shooting those guns and did so
It is a disgrace it has taken so long to cone to trial
Defense holds everyone so annoying even the very short straight forward witness
detective shows up to investigate the robbery.... but what about the attempted murder?
Those children do not need to be there hearing all this!! Probably his family but still…that’s playing the sympathy card and that’s just wrong…those poor kids don’t need to hear deatails about the murders
If the people he killed were robbing him then why is he on trial for murder? Is that not self-defense?
Because he didn’t shoot them at the time of the robbery.
Apart from the fact he actually went searching for the robbers after the event, he killed the wrong people.
Did you not hear the trial?
Did you listen to anything at all? He went and executed random people who did not even match the description of the people he said robbed him.
Those he shooted were not who robbed him
This trial going so much smoother than the murder of rosalio trial
Seems like the public defender is even better than his last lawyer
The animosity between the ex-girlfriend and the Defendant can be cut with a knife.
Anyone else hear Joe Pesci "ok ok ok ok" in the voice of this defense attorney? Lol. Drove me crazy trying to place that similarity.
I can’t stand the defense. If I was on the jury, I would have tuned him out because of all of his theatrics.
Too many objections over minor errors. Save the objections for real consequential statements.
this defense attorney is annoying. has a compelling argument so far but i already do not like him. he's too angry. just state your case for god's sake! don't make the jury hate you. i will hear him yelling in my sleep tonite!!!!
Who's in charge of the sound. Get someone else. Continuly changing. To loud to low, static. Come on.
he's a murderer, premeditated it and killed those 2 guys for revenge
This defense team is highly unlikable. Also, the detective cannot ask the doctor anything about the guys medications or injuries due to HIPAA, the prosecution needs to bring that up. Other than that, I have no excuses for the lazy detective.
He can get a court order and ask, and I believe when a victim is in the hospital after a crime he can definitely ask since it's a crime.
Going to have a hard time convicting I believe not a slam dunk defense team is great didn't like the opening statement from the state
He was nearly acquitted last time. 10-2 to acquit.
The bald defence attorney defended and got off Curtis Reeves and will use same argument ,too dark to identify
I’ve followed this case extensively in the trial. I believe he wasn’t the shooter. I do believe he hired someone else to hunt down and shoot “creeper”!! He was physically unable to do the murder.
The female defence lawyer is exhausting. She talks so fast and that “CORRECT” at the end of most questions is so annoying!
A judge concentrated on the task.
I’m confused… did the robbers get charged? I mean don’t rob people…
Interesting that people in the comments are so definite that these people were robbers with no evidence but they scream about how this guy is innocent until proven guilty.
Prosecutors brought False Charges
46:10 - Remarkable that the police was NOT able to find the people behind a robbery, but the icecream man himself was.
