Hey, Paul!! I’m a Gen-Xer just like you, and I’ve been watching your Saturday Morning Podcast now for the last year or so. LOVE WHAT YOU’RE DOING!! SO many memories!! Love Web Woman!! A year or two ago, my wife found a OOP copy of Super Seven someone had ripped and bought it for me for Christmas. I really wish there was enough fandom for it that it could get a restoration. Even at the BEST quality, it’s severely ravaged by time and the Super Seven is a delightful memory from the late 70’s. I remember watching it along with Jason Of Star Command, The Space Sentinels and The Freedom Force. These shows give us old farts a few minutes of being little again. Thank you so much and don’t ever stop!! Much Love, Brother! Namaste!!
She is the reason Spider-Woman exists. Stan Lee learned that this cartoon was getting made, so he quickly created a character to allow Marvel to own the trademark to a female superhero with spider powers. He had previously ran into legal trouble with DC over the Wonder Man character (which they felt was a rip off of Wonder Woman), so he didn't want the same thing to happen with a female Spider-Man.
They were a source of escapeism for me as a child The" real - world" for me was always filled with strife and bullying throughout my childhood ." Chin up ,it will make you a man or what my " mother " used to say "you probably did something to provoke it " she added a few explicit s that i won't repeat !( She despised me !) And I was her first born I surviv😢ed the the experience . ) I later found out that they conceived another child. ,but it was stillborn . She was always bitter and resentful towards me , no matter what I did.needless to say some of these cartoons actually gave me hope for a better future, nuff said!
Morning Cap'n so to recap, Nick Fury knew about the Pym Particle prior to Henry and She Hulk is not so much Moonlighting as Greenlighting? good to be back Dx
Amazing Friends was my fav. The Amazing Spider-Man that came out the same year wasn’t available in our market. Hell, I didn’t even know it existed until a couple years ago. SM&HAF was my introduction to The X-Men and ESPECIALLY Wolverine…but I’ll never know why they made him Australian 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Word is that Filmation dropped Web Woman due to Spider-Woman's animated series being in the works. I think that they could've coexisted. It would've been cool if WW could've continued and experimented with multi-part episodes. The same can be said for the other Super Seven shows. Jack Frankenstein resembles actor Terry Kiser with red hair and paler skin (specifically, in his Three's Company appearances). Also, I wasn't too crazy about those Toy Biz DC Superheroes ir the Batman movie toyline that they released. It would be cool if the Super Powers line could return with the action features intact (with non-lever activation) and more articulation.
I forgot to answer the favorite Spider-Man animated show question. Spectacular Spider-Man followed closely by Spider-Man/Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
