I think you got confused because of swift's crash test because it got 3 star is European but not much on global which is Indian... They can't change a entire platform on a single car because its expensive they just do other kind of cost cuts
From the base variant you will get 2 airbags, ac, all power windows, power steering, abs, 4 star safety rating etc. I think its a good choice and value for money under 6 lakh ruppes in indian car market

To answer all the skeptics - In the report it only mentioned the engine capacity in the test results (1 Lit). Why is everyone so adamant that it wasn’t the Indian spec variant of the car. There’s a mere difference of 15kg if we compare the turbo variant. Who knows how they measured the weight of the car and what were the parameters. Anyway if it is being manufactured in the same factory (read assembly line), there can’t be any difference in sheet metal and build in general. Each assembly line is build according to certain specs that are fixed. Changing the assembly specs for something like a crash test will probably cost a bomb and is a waste of time. If a company wants to create two versions of different build specifications in parallel, it would need two assembly lines. Check for any other cars too, Indian versions are mostly built in India and international versions outside India (or on a different assembly line even if in India). Nissan in it’s one manufacturing plant in India can’t afford to have multiple assembly lines (one for Indian spec, one for intl) given the that it can manufacture only about 4K cars (that too at full capacity 24/7) in a month.
Even though Nissan Magnite got 4 star safety rating by "ASEAN NCAP" People will not buy this car, saying it has no resale value and service network.. And as usual they buy Maruti Suzuki cars..

Nope. They’re tested at the MiROS PC3 lab in Malaysia. I think what you’re referring to might be the FIA General Assembly held in New Delhi in 2011 where the MoU to form ASEAN NCAP was signed between Global NCAP and MiROS.
Take a look at the block behind the offset deformable barrier at 0:28. It clearly shows the test is performed at the MiROS PC3 lab in Malaysia. Though it's made in India, but it's Indonesian spec model. Indian variant could have thinner sheet metal, etc. We may never know if it is the same quality unless it's tested. If Indian spec is same, nissan would surely send it to global ncap. If not then we know it's the cheaper quality one.
You should understand that it is not feasible for a manufacturer to make the same car with different sheet metal thickness. OEMs can change the specs like airbags,abs,ebd, etc based on different markets. And for Magnite it is exactly the same car which will be sold in Indonesia too. Which means there are no variants different for different regions. It is also mentioned in NCAP pdf report.
Check Indonesia website, Kerb weight is 1014 kg (turbo) & 1051 kg (cvt), whereas indian website, Kerb weight is 1014 kg (turbo) and 1039 kg (cvt). So can't comment on 1029 kg kerb weight as mentioned by ASEAN NCAP. But common sense tells me that both has same kerb weight for 1L turbo, whereas cvt of indonesia is only 12 kg higher. Also model tested as seen in video is 1L turbo which is claimed to have kerb weight of 1029 kg. This is also similar and only 15kg higher than that mentioned in both countries website. This is enough for me to conclude that same results hold good for Indian version

Well the power of the car doesnt depend on cc.. torque to weight ratio determines how fast a car can accelerate and how much load it can take. If you compare torque to weight ratio this car has highest pulling power as compared to all other competitors including brezza , nexon and eco sport.

Nope. They’re tested at the MiROS PC3 lab in Malaysia. I think what you’re referring to might be the FIA General Assembly held in New Delhi in 2011 where the MoU to form ASEAN NCAP was signed between Global NCAP and MiROS.

Visit g.co/kgs/f4X1WK if you want further evidence that it’s located in Malaysia. If the lab was located in India then Global NCAP (which is a member organisation and financial sponsor of ASEAN NCAP) would have no reason to perform tests on Indian cars at ADAC in Germany instead of this lab you speak of in New Delhi. Please support your statement with a valid source.

Though it's made in India, but it's Indonesian spec model. Indian variant could have thinner sheet metal, etc. We may never know if it is the same quality unless it's tested. If Indian spec is same, nissan would surely send it to global ncap. If not then we know it's the cheaper quality one.
You should understand that it is not feasible for a manufacturer to make the same car with different sheet metal thickness. OEMs can change the specs like airbags,abs,ebd, etc based on different markets. And for Magnite it is exactly the same car which will be sold in Indonesia too. Which means there are no variants different for different regions. It is also mentioned in NCAP pdf report.

Check Indonesia website, Kerb weight is 1014 kg (turbo) & 1051 kg (cvt), whereas indian website, Kerb weight is 1014 kg (turbo) and 1039 kg (cvt). So can't comment on 1029 kg kerb weight as mentioned by ASEAN NCAP.
But common sense tells me that both has same kerb weight for 1L turbo, whereas cvt of indonesia is only 12 kg higher. Also model tested as seen in video is 1L turbo which is claimed to have kerb weight of 1029 kg. This is also similar and only 15kg higher than that mentioned in both countries website. This is enough for me to conclude that same results hold good for Indian version
