I have a serious question for the shiekh. A brother at work told me whilst he was in Pakistan, the local imam showed him sahih bukhari in urdu and another in arabic. He pointed out that the arabic one did not include certain chapters in the urdu one and vice versa. Have you come across any off this? Barakallahu feek
Assalamu alaikum Brother, Imam Bukhari Rahimahullah wrote his Sahih in Arabic not Urdu is First point, Second point there are some people whom I know say that Imam Bukhari Rahimahullah wrote more than 6 lac Ahadeeth from which only 2.5k+ are Sahih but the Real Print has more than 7k which is Sahih and Authentic and Recommended by Many of the 'Ulama Rahimahumullah..... Seek the Truth yourself by getting the book yourself Brother... A Kind advice from a Kind Brother... May Allah Grant all of us True Knowledge and Guidance and Protect us from Falsified Knowledge. Aameen And is the Imam from Pakistan criticizing Sahih al Bukhari ? Or what was he trying to Say?
@@Abdullah-or2iz Wa 'alaikum assalam Akhi, maybe you wanted to say the correct thing but you did not word it correctly, but just to make clear, here some clarifications: 1. It is not correct to say that Imām Bukhārī thought that only 2,5k+ Ahadīth of the 600.000 that Imām Bukhārī knew were Sahīh. Imām Bukhārī has many other books, like al-Adab al-Mufrad of Tarīkh al-Kabīr, where he explicitly said regarding some narrations that they are Sahīh, but he did not include them in his Sahīh Bukhārī. This is because the aim and goal of Sahīh Bukhārī was never to included EVERY Sahīh Hadīth, but Imām Bukhārī had chapter headings in which he wanted to proofs points regarding Aqīdah or Fiqh or Mu'āmalāt etc. and he brought Hadīth in accordance to that. Nowehere did he say that this is a collection of ALL the Sahīh Ahadīth. 2. If you had look at an actual print of Sahīh Bukhārī you will realize that Imām Bukhārī brings one narration in many different chapters - again - according to the thing he wanted to proof there. For example: The first Hadith in Sahih Bukhari is about the intention, i.e. that every deed depends on the intention. Imām Bukhārī brought this Hadīth in multiple chapters, like in the Chapter of Oaths and Vows, Hadith 6689, and also in the Chapter of Tricks, Hadith 6958, to proof certain points. So if the complete Sahīh Bukhārī has around 7k Ahadīth, this is when you count without repetition. If you do not count the places where Imām Bukhārī repeated a Hadīth, you have way less narrations. 3. With regards to possible differences in the translated editions, this could be for the following reasons: - It was a summarized Sahīh Bukhārī. In the summarized editions of Sahīh Bukhārī the scholars removed the places where Imām Bukhārī repeated narrations (as I gave an example from before), to make the book more condences and more accessable. Because most regular Muslim will not want to read a 6 Volume Book. But if they have a summarized edition to start with studying Sahīh Bukhārī, this is beneficial. This is also beneficial for a beginner student of knowledge if he wants to get to know Bukhārī. - The publisher might have made a mistake- - Some minor changes in chapter could be because of the differences in manuscripts, but usually a good publisher puts that information in the footnotes, i.e. if there is a place where there are minor differences in the manuscripts. But this is normalyl not done in translations. And Allāh knows best 🌹
