I've been waiting for someone to cover this hello neighbor topic for a long time. I thought I was the only one who actually took notice of the weird furniture stuff that was going on in the house. One of the main reasons why I love the Pre-Alpha version so much is because of how mysterious it is. Theres so much weird stuff that goes on in the house, from the bear traps spawning on the wall, the red light bedroom, the upside down room and the special light bulbs you find in the room next to the garage.
Yeah, that's exactly my thought process when I made this video, and my last one. Honestly, if when I played nothing mysterious or weird happened, I wouldn't have made it into a video, or even a multi-part series at all. And also, messing with the light bulbs may or may not be in another part to the series ;)
i honestly think that the pre alpha is the most underrated version the layout change being the bigest exampleas its the only version that changes the house as you progress more and more
Pre alpha has to be the most mysterious and interesting peice of media related to hello neighbor. The potential for the house and artstyle aswell as the storyline is huge. I would love to see an alternative universe where Tinybuild stuck with pre alpha artsyle and mechanics!
Could you imagine the full (act 3/betas/alpha 4 and 3 or whatever) house changing between nights and if the puzzles were built off of those mechanics that never left the pre-alpha? It would've been much more of an interesting game
The best version of the game when it comes to Graphics or AI or the unsettling feeling when playing, they really nailed the first few alphas. And good video btw.
the giant neighbor nightmare sequence has it's own version where it's a mix of regular and defense, you have to climb out the roof of your house to see it
This is some cool and creepy stuff at the same time. It gives me this vibe that the neighbor is not the only person or thing inside his home. Could've made for an interesting game.
Bro I never knew those things were in the Pre Alpha, I always wondered how I was supposed to find the UV Light. Thanks for the diagrams too, it's really helpful!
9:36 Yes, you did hear a window break. See that wooden board the camera is placed on? That is actually the bottom frame of a window, just chilling above the ceiling slightly clipping through.
@@shaqnyiro5406 Yeah, I actually found that out while recording the next pre-alpha video. Funny enough, it seems to be that whenever the upside down room's window is boarded up, the ceiling window isn't, and vice versa. Anyway, thanks for sharing but I did already know 😅
@@shaqnyiro5406 Well, by the next one I mean one that isn't released yet (I am in fact still on holiday) but you should totally watch the newest one too
This is honestly pretty impressive! I don't think anyone has gone into detail on this game's inner workings! ...heck, come to think of it, we don't even have maps or floor plans of the houses for most if not all versions, which is really odd to me.
Protip, in the tutorial phase, you can "activate" the neighbor by using the bear trap (from the storage room behind the garage) on him in the kitchen, before he teleports he's in the Demo phase where he just waits until the game tells him to do something (same thing as in the huge neighbor nightmare sequence), ignoring the player and unless you get too close to him You can also place the bear trap in the middle of the living room rug to prevent him from catching you after going to the basement, though I don't remember whether it ends the tutorial or not (you might be able to outrun him without the trap tho) And you can lean to prevent the game from teleporting you to your house when the neighbor catches you Also, if you are stuck while leaning through a wall, try to move a little, jump before leaning or jump during leaning, it might move the camera inside the room to better see stuff And you can open the garage door to enter it in the tutorial And you can go behind the barriers by flying with the trashcan (just in case, though nothing changes outside the neighbor's house) Also, at 9:36 it is a window (you can see it by going into the second floor with bugs, leaning into the wall on the wardrobe behind the house or crouching on the boiler), no idea if it's a bug or if they did it on purpose, maybe even a remnant of the older house layout (as it's kinda weird how large the bathroom is) 14:52 this door is unlocked during the nightmare sequence (you can get out with boxes or trash cans as the ceiling and roof have no collision) Though these "modes" are sometimes random, no idea why
@@jaceu1586 Okay, that's a LOT of information. 1. The stuff about the tutorial is quite interesting, I'll try it as soon as I'm back from holiday, making videos. 2. This is great, for some reason the pre alpha had all of these unique mechanics that were never seen again in later version and werent brought back into the final game Also after years I have just now noticed that the side and back walls of the bathroom have a different texture thats more darker and reddish, I though they all were the same blue and yellow tile one like in alpha 1. Also those diagrams are great but I have to point out that you have all of them called the tutorial state😂.
@@pajis_xd I didn't know that about the bathroom, interesting. Also yes I noticed I named all the diagrams as the tutorial 😅 I made a comment fixing it, you should be able to find it.
I'm not sure wxactly how to do it. But I once got it to where, by going into the back of the house on tutorial night and moving stuff and taking stuff.. I somehow managed to glitch the house. So both defense and regualr modes activated at the same time.
3:50 Fun fact: ( I tested by myself ) If you manage to brake into neighbor's house and get in the room which is the nearest to the basement, and enter the wardrobe, you can touch the trigger which activates Neighbor's AI So you can quickly break the window in the same room and escape, not getting caught. Quick explain tho, there is a boarded up window, so before you hit the trigger, its better to break the window and find hammer to unboard the it too. ( Also its crouch to get through window ) Thats the easiest way how to avoid neighbor in tutorial night ( He wont chase you to your house tho, yet, he will always be in hunt mode after this, so be careful and dont look through windows of your house too much, he can notice you.
Here's a couple of things you've missed. 1. The fourth variation. Grab a trash can, put it on your bed, sleep until the nightmare sequence to jump out of the house and you'll see more differences. 2. In the nightmare sequence, since you can roam around, you can actually open that little door that's in the upside-down room. 3. in the back of the house, jump on the table, then the closet, walk close to the wall, and boom, you find out there's a barrier, and you can easily run from the neighbor and jump over him so he can't catch you. 4. Don't crouch on the trash can.
Wow, I never thought about checking the house in the giant neighbour nightmare. I have a modded version of the game, so I should be able to just debug camera around the house. I'll make sure to add that in a later part, or a short video, and I'll make sure to give you credits. Thank you for telling me this!
Okay, I tried getting out of the nightmare sequence, but the only problem is that even if I'm not in my house, when the neighbour grabs into my house, it ends the nightmare sequence. Is there any way to stop this from happening or do I just need to be quick with getting to the upside-down room?
