Thank you for this! I'm replacing the rear brakes on my '72 and neither of my manuals were of any help at all as far as how the springs are installed on the shoes. It also didn't help that the previous mechanic installed them incorrectly.
@danosburn80 you're very welcome, and thank you for your kind comment. One of the reasons I'm doing things by myself is that I don't trust anyone else to do it. Keep up the good work, my friend!
Another job done good. Do they make a disk replacement kit. I got a 66 mustang and anytime I did the rear brakes I would say next time I’m putting in disk brakes even though I kept it mostly original
Thanks so much, Marc! They do have kits to convert it to disc brakes, and it'll be much better with that, giving zero issues. But like you said, the reason I keep it that way is to keep it original

Great job. Very good description of each part of the job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad to be of help :)
Just about to do this on my 68 Midget. Thanks for all the useful tips and info.
You're very welcome
6:42 how did you apply that retention ring? It feels like we have to stretch it.
I have to admit that I found it very difficult!! It took me ages to put it in place. I used a small hammer in the end to force it into its groove!
@@ChrisSofos that’s what we did too. We figured there might be another way.
