  • Trains filmed on Friday 10th and Tues 14th May 2024 at the Tarmac Terminal, Hull Dairycoates, with class 60 Haulage. Class 60s re-appeared on the traffic from Wed 8th May 2024 for what I believe to be the first occasion since December 2010!
    Note how the crew are required to unclamp and re-secure the points in order for the locomotive to perform its run round move before departure.

    I caught 60.026 at Eastrington last week. I was surprised to see it, but was a welcome sight 😊

    Glad these are back in our area. I live opposite the aire valley line and have had many years of Tilcon double 25s then double 31s 47s etc. Im bored with 66s.

    This is fabulous, not seen a detailed video around the site before even though I only live in Driffield.
    Do have a soft spot for 60’s. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼

      Thanks Julian. Here is a link to the last time I photographed a 60 on the workings. I'm doing a railway pics night in Driffield for the RCTS on June 11th if you're interested. It's in the hall opposite the Wetherspoons from 19:00.

      @@julianlane8313 Hi Julian - really sorry, but I'd got the date wrong for the show in Driffield - it was actually last night (10th) - apologies if you were planning on attending, and I hope this message finds you in time.

    Plenty more Tug action to come Tony. The 60s are allocated to Rylstone work now 😁

    Yee gods the state of those tracks , it's like India .

      Indeed - hence the clamping of the points and very gingerly crossing.

    If 60s are so bad and unwanted by their past owner, why do other companies happily find work for them?

      not many around now . 100 built. I worked on them from new. They have not the reliability of the 66's . niggley faults let them down. They worked fine in BR / EWS days but got worse over the years.

    • @brianwillson9567
      @brianwillson9567 Місяць тому +1

      @DOCTORDROTT yes, I saw most of them from new as they stood outside the brush works awaiting delivery to BR.

      They had a few early faults, which let them down as with all brand new stock, but they eventually settled down to be good workhorses. The fact that they sacrificed speed for pulling power caused a small pathing issue , but lack of maintenance and being stood for long periods after the 66 deluge has done for them. DB doesn't see refurbishments as financially viable given all their spare 66s. Other companies see refurb vs a new loco as cost effective.
