When Winter Feels Too Long We Decide To...

- Ever since we built our office shipping container, we've been debating how and where we could install a tiny wood stove in that space to make it more comfortable for long days in the edit, and we've finally made that dream a reality. Thank you so much to everyone at www.tinywoodstove.com for helping get us sorted with this magical little stove. (We got the Dwarf 3kw Small Wood Stove, which has more than enough power to heat our space to a toasty temperature in a matter of minutes)
I can happily report that since installation, this stove has been used every single day so far, but we still haven't made a dent in our firewood supply because the logs it takes are so tiny ; ) Overall, the installation of our new wood burning stove was a breeze, minus a little debacle with some spray paint--but lesson learned! If anyone finds some brush on high heat white paint, send us a link!
Another big part of this installation process was learning a little bit more about design when it comes to space layout. Removing a chunk of shelves really opened up the room and makes it feel so much more comfortable and spacious. And having to feed a fire while working at your computer is actually a really nice, calm distraction--so whenever I build my next office space, I will definitely think about doing something similar again, because its so so nice!
Big love,
Dana, Lou, Max & Freja

Changes the feel of the space so much! The wall of drawers was a tad bit suffocating, before. I love it.
Right! It's fascinating what a difference it makes :) Thanks for the kind words!
Okay - now I want a tiny fireplace! -- I don't think I really need one - I just want one. Thanks for the updates... -- Cheers

This is one of my very favorite of your videos ever. First of all, NICE work , both of you.

Haha Diana thank you so much!! This comment has me smiling so much :)) Hope you are having a super day, too!! ❤
@@WildWeRoamNow a days. Everyone is complaining about something. When someone puts a smile on your smile. Say something. Put a smile on there face too. I guess I got that from doing customer service for over 30 years. And all the awards I got for being nice. That brings me joy! Love ya! Have a super day and then some more!
The concrete slab is beautiful. It has inspired me to make a concrete countertop for my garage renovation. Great result, Lou.
Woo hoo! Nice work. I really enjoy watching the process, and kudos to you for ALL of this being self taught. Incredible!
Thank you, Bajaboolie!! Step by step, it is great how it all comes together :) Hope you are having a nice Sunday!
Great work! I love the difference from what you’ve learned over the years of building! Love how proud you are of yourself when you do something well, too. Thanks for sharing your adventure, as always. Very best to your sweet family.
Thank you so much, Bekah, that is so kind of you to say ❤
I love your content so much! It’s so calming and relaxing to see you go about your day making your space work for you.
Thank you for spending time with us, Rachel!! So happy is it relaxing :)
Love the white heat shield. I did my hearth and wall with large format white tiles and love it!
Yes... Good job Lou. Good job Dana, Max and Freya too. ❤ the little fire stove looks lovely. X
In Norway, where i come from we make what we call nail “tents” it’s kind of wooden small ish areas outside caravan so you have more space than you can comfortably sit in wintertime, due winter camping.( lots of people do this due to ski resort) personally I would consider this in between your living area and kitchen space. So when the cold winter storm hits you don’t need to get dressed to go to your kitchen.❤ kind of like how you build your out house but since you have done a lot of a lot already it will be easier ❤ love you videos and all your efforts, since I have a off grid cabin with a lot simpler ways of living I get inspiration to get it into a better shape ❤
Hi Lou! I just wanted to give you a tip, if you'd make a cross member to the outdoor wood storages they'll stiffen up by a lot! Just a small plank from top back corner to the bottom back corner :)
Love your guys' videos, they're so calming and beautiful. You should make a sauna! haha
Yes! Good job Lou!!
Thank you so much, Robin!! ❤

Good job Lou!
Great music choices on this one. I usually put your videos on in the background and treat more like a podcast but I watched the whole thing today.
Great tiny stove and the wood rack to store precut pieces is a brilliant idea!! Congrats 🎉🎉🎉
Nice to have a partner willing to pitch in and help👍 I found this channel because of Elsa Rae and Barron👍
How do you portray construction so artistically. Beautiful ❤

Anyone know that song at 8 minutes. Great video guys.👍
Hope you find out 👍
Shazam is what you need! The song is Man on Fire by Justin LaPoint.
@@Mikalatraveller thank you👍
@@dpp898Oh how wonderful, thanks so much for helping each other out :) Glad you liked the song! hope you all have a really nice Sunday ❤
What county are you in??
I've seen people spray the spray paint into a container and then paint it on with a brush. Anyway, maybe next time.
🔥🧡🥰
Hey ❤ can you let me know which songs you used in this video? ☺️
Weird to put stove so close in wood cupboard? Isn't it bound to get very hot and crack? ;-)
Happy you re warm ! You'll get warmest cutting all those very tiny logs...:-)))
Haha oh gosh, I guess we will see! Thank you :) Wishing you a wonderful Sunday! ❤
Just wondering, as someone who has watched quite a few of your videos, why is Freya not including in "Family Time"?? Like when you are all Hanging out in the fire or eating as a "Family" i don't see her around- I notice she's outside there for walks or outside in the cold with Lou on builds, but not much inside when you are all together? Is she not allowed close to your Lil man? Does she stay outside alone?? Just curious....
Winter feels too long we decide to ….. leave? Put in a stove? Paired with the sad look in the thumbnail that’s too much click-bait for me
This channel for me peaked at owning a sailboat
I used to love the videos because they were calming and had great soundtracks now I just hear chopping, sawing and power tools sorry guys not my thing
I think it’s good you share this incase views go down and they don’t see why, but if you guys do sending love! I certainly watch the old videos as much as the new. Perhaps a separate building channel would eventually help make both channels gain subscribers dedicated to each thing! But definitely lots of changes on the way with the little one! Glad you guys have so many subscribers that will watch to see what you are up to!
😂😂😂😂
We are following their lives. Things change 💛🌻
Thank you all for the constructive (no pun intended haha) critcism! :) Full transparency, there will indeed be a lot of construction for the foreseeable future with all the projects we need to have planned. Eventually we hope for the focus to be more on homesteading, but for now, these projects are just the reality of what we are up to. Appreciate your feedback, though! And thank you for the kind words, Charlize and Benji❤
Have we already seen the cleaning or is it another spray paint job????🫤🫤
Good job, Lou!
