Man was I surprised to see this juxtaposition of the Dillards with Judy Garland, Jerry VanDyke, & Jack Carter. Thanks for posting.

Man was I surprised too. The Dillards with Judy Garland is amazing and warranted. I once saw Doug Dillard play banjo with Dean Martin and Gene Kelly.

Wow, back when singing gospel music was mainstream. "Somebody Touched Me, must have been the had of the Lord", "John saw",

The days when even the Hollywood crowd played tribute to our Lord. Where did those days go? Life was so much better back than.

This was in 1963. The Dillards appeared on The Andy Griffith Show as The Darlings on 3 memorable episodes that year.

Wow, I so much appreciate this! How nice it is to see our Lord being recognized by Hollywood. And what raw talent! How I wish that I could have experienced that era!

Can you imagine Lady Ga Ga or Beyoncé doing something like this on TV today? Not on your life. I really miss shows like this and what talent they gave us. Judy is great and the Dillards, Jerry, Jack Carter, George Maharis and the gang. Sadly we’ve lost something in our TV over the years.

Amazing! I love bluegrass, the Dillards, and Judy Garland! I’m saving this one. Smiled all the way through it. Judy Garland had so much talent in so many ways. No one else even comes close. I just wish that she hadn’t had such a hard life….

Yes, it was a great medley. But- at 5:50, is that Col. Flagg from MASH?
I Googled him, yes, that is Edward Winter. Broadway musical actor in his youth!!!!

Naturally everyone comes here to see the legendary Dillards. But I'd like to draw everyone's attention to something remarkable, and its significance, in case it was missed. At 4:12 perhaps the biggest female movie star of all time begins singing a CHRISTIAN Brush arbor spiritual gospel song: Somebody Touched Me. But apparently, broadcasting ONE CHRISTIAN SONG nationwide to MILLIONS of people, WAS NOT ENOUGH for the producer and director, so they had Judy launch into another one at 7:00. I, John. I cannot in my wildest dreams, imagine a Prime-time Hollywood variety show NOWADAYS, hosted by a legendary A-List actress or an international celebrity personality (Kim Kardashian?), being allowed to Sing a medley of CHRISTIAN HYMNS to close out the show!
I am not sure of the precise moment in our history, that our nation took the first wrong turn, but I do know the godless misery and suffering "Dead End" of self-destruction that wrong turn has led us to.

That was Jerry VanDyke on the tenor banjo and singing with Jack Carter. Doug Dillard playing bluegrass banjo in the Dillards group.
