I purchased my Ninja in May and I was riding with the standard seat until the unthinkable happened and I had to lay it down gently. Luckily the only real damage was to my pride...the crash guards saved the bike. I have just fitted the low seat...and it has changed the whole bike. The handling for me feels much better as I sit slightly deeper into the bike, the comfort feels about the same and yes....I can get my feet on the ground. This video has explained everything that I have had to do and done...and it all works...👍👍
At standstill keep front wheel straight or at opposite tilt to any camber. After dropping my 845 mm seat height Versys 650 twice at standstill , I figured it out . And don’t grab the front brake when coming to a stop ….the forks dive and when they bounce back up it pushes your foot upwards off the ground .
Super great price. Was not dramatic change, but being leg to ground motorcycle challenged (I'm short!!!), this was a huge upgrade for me. For the money, it's one of the most useful purchases for my sx!
Hi, man! I have the same problem with the my feed to come on the ground. I ordered the low seat too. Fine! Well done. ❤ Greetings from Germany, Beckman
What was the big difference, I’m assuming not power, comfort, wind protection or stability at high speeds. The pros would be weight which ensures more control of the bike on and off the bike. Space in garage. What else? I’m honestly very curious as I’ve considered the concours many times.
very good informative video !!! thank you !!...I had no problems with the standard seat hight with my leathers or my 7 years old Rukka suit ...then I bought a new Rukka suit that has a strengthened crotch area ..and also hip protection pads ...which doesn't allow me to lift my leg as high, when I'm getting on ...!!! total nightmare !! nearly put my hip out !!..also it has raised me a little higher so my legs weren't quite as low as before ...!! so I had to get the lower seat , which has been perfect ...and worth every penny of the £230 I paid for it ..
I am 5ft 6 with a 29inch inside leg. I managed the bike with the standard seat ok when on my own but struggled when I was taking pillions . It is much easier with the low seat. I also find the low seat more comfortable.
Thanks for your informative video mate, I just purchased a 2023 Ninja 1000sx, I think I will get the lowered seat as I am on toes at a stop and can't flat foot the bike. All the best 🇦🇺🍺
@@LiterFreedom Yeah been going great, can't fault it 👍 Sorry I didn't mention I have not got the lowered seat yet, but looking at sourcing one very soon.
I'm finding the low seat on my 2024 Ninja to be unusable as it is really painful for me to sit on for anything more than an hour. I've switched to the standard seat and it's okay, but not great. I'm currently looking for an aftermarket seat solution that doesn't have such a firm ridge down either side of the seat.
@@LiterFreedom I sent my seat to France to Top Sellerie to be modified. It came back to Australia okay, but Australia Post have lost it, so I guess I will never know.! I'm battling to have my costs refunded from Australia Post! I have to say that the stock seat(s) on my N1K is really detracting from my enjoyment of the bike.
@@Tarsnakes oh my goodness man…That’s absolutely ridiculous. Please let me know about the seat situation when you get it, I’d love to get something even more comfortable for the bike!
It's most indepth and excellent review on low seat option for Ninja 1000. Have you used the low seat during long rides of let's say 500-700 kms, Is it comfortable?
Thanks for the encouraging comment. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions I have not but I have ridden about 50 miles with it and find it more comfortable than the standard seat. I hope this helps. Thanks again.
@mysticpond9127 it depends on your model that you have... For 2017 to 2019, the low seat is 8mm lower... For the 2020 to current, the low seat is 28mm lower... I have the 2021 model, and the low seat (28mm lower) has made a massive difference... Hope this helps...
Hi. I am still working on the best forward point as the handlebars are not very practical for this. Currently I find the helmet cam best for forward and rear from the grab bar mounts below the seat. I am hoping to review a fixed front/back FHD bike cam setup sometime over the coming months. The camera's on these are much smaller.
Hi. they are Richa Nomad and are fairly commonly available. I find them waterproof and very comfy but I do always put comfort insoles in all my shoes/boots. Thanks for the question.
@@RevsIT It does, I really like this bike, however, I am 5'5" /30" Leg and therefore, a little concerned I won't fit on even with the Low Seat option! I appreciate the reply!!
Hi, very informative video. I have a 2020 model, I'm 170 cm and have no problems with the standard seat. Mind you I come from a big adventure bike where I was always tiptoeing or moving on the seat so that, when stopping, I would sit on just one bum cheek so that I could flatfoot one foot. I found the standard seat, though, would "cut" into my inner thighs after a while due to its edgy form. I replaced it with the comfort seat and experienced a marked improvement. One question if you don't mind. Won't a lower seat not alter the ergonomics so that the knees are in an even sharper angle? Although I find the Ninja overall very comfortable and I like the ergonomics, it's the angle of the legs the first thing I start noticing when I ride for a long time. Thank you for your videos

Dont say Lay it down. Face the fact that you couldnt control your bike. FFS
Oh now I understand. You tipped over at a stop cos of shortassness, Sorry, I thought you meant it fell at speed. My bad.

Versys 650 23 model seat is very comfy …have rode twelve hour stints , with only short fuel and food stops , no sore rear end .

If you cannot sit on the bike with both feet firmly on the ground the bike is not suitable for you its common knowledge.

Hi. No I didn't feel the need to. The toes of my boots sit relaxed just below the gear shift and rear brake. Thanks.

Did you have a lowering kit added?
