Fitting the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX 2020 2021 with Bar risers to help with back discomfort. Yes old age comes to us all eventually but ad to this an old back injury and finding a comfortable riding possition becomes more difficult. Lets se if the bar risers help.
Just to say, got some of these Moto-CNC risers and used this video to see how to fit them. 30 minutes and all done. Did 185 miles around East and North Yorkshire and made a really big difference. Much more upright riding position, weight off the right wrist, so a much more comfortable ride. Not adventure bike comfortable - obviously - but very impressed with the difference they made. Would highly recommend and thanks for the fitment video. Was very easy for a mechanical numpty like me.
Thanks for the feedback. Make sure you check the torque of the bolts now you have used the bike for a while.
I just installed these on my 2023 1000sx. Really easy install and I'm super happy with the riding position now.
Thanks for the comment. Was thinking of putting them on my 2024 and was wondering how the fitting was. The 2023 is exactly the same.. so if they work on yours.. lol I’m probably going to get them.
Excellent recommendation. Just installed mine on a 2023 model and had a test ride-definitely could feel the difference! Looks a bit odd at first but then you get used to it. Love it!
Very interesting feature. I look forward to installing those bar risers. Thanks for the video.
Torque settings;
2 x M8 Caphead Bolts should be torqued up to 28nm ( 2 each side)
IMPORTANt tighten both sets of 2 multiple times until all are at the specified torque setting!
1 x M12 Caphead Bolts should be torqued up to 40nm
Thanks for the vid. Taken the plunge and ordered a set as well.
I have a 2023 and have had 2 spine surgeries in the last year. I find it comfortable as is. My legs actually cramp up from the angle not my back. I guess it couldn't hurt thats why we bought these bikes more upright position than normal Ninja
I know I am late to party but just bought a new 23 edition even I managed to fit them but video very helpful. thanks
Well done ! Very useful. Many thanks!
Looking forward to seeing your next ride out. I too have slight issues with my back to the extent I'm working in the gym to strengthen it. I'm very keen to hear the results 👍
Thanks. Love the name. :)
Nice job on your bar risers! I still believe you were going in the right direction when you first fitted them to the top of the forks. I'm thinking about getting the 1000 sx myself. Bar risers will be one of the first mods. Also a taller and little wider wind screen, sargent seat and a different end can. I asked the dealer if there was a longer or extended shift lever, but he said he wasn't sure. I wear a size 13 shoe and found it a little awkward to quickly get my foot under the shifter for upshifting.
looks AMAZING IM GOING TO ORDER A PAIR
After riding in different situations.....is everything doing well, any binding or issues ?? Thanks for any insight. I have 2023 SX. Appreciated the video.
Waiting for my new Ninja to be delivered and appreciate the advice as I suffer from lower back problems also 👍
Can I ask where you got the hand guards?
Nice video, please share your experience after using, if it really helps?
Yes, definitely and if I remember to take the camera lens cover off again I will give updates on a few other things also. LOL 2 hours of black screen haha
Loved your intro logo..damn sexy
Thanks for the video. What brand are your bar wind deflector? I really like the slim look
It looks like you loose rebound adjustability with these. Is that correct? Also, where did you get the handguards?
Was looking to buy these for my sx but having watched a few videos of these they seem to have received mixed reviews. Ok I’m a straight line but the handling around bends is said to feel strange. What’s your view on this?
I am not a fast rider as you see in the video but neither am I a slow one. It handles around the bends very well with very little difference I could feel. It may be that I do not know what to look for or it could be other people assuming it would be different and then thinking it is when they try them. The mind does do odd things sometimes. Whichever a slight more pressure when counter steering is far outweighed by the added comfort and lack of distracting pain they bring. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question.
Thanks for the reply👍
Hi. What handguars do you use on your bike? I could not find any that fit the Ninja 1000 SX
Hi there is a video here of me fitting them and there is a link in the comments. Thanks. ua-cam.com/video/JRCbKm3F4GM/v-deo.html
Nice product but it is not very functional for suspension settings.
so front suspension adjustment not possible unless you remove it all
Best done before you add them.
@@RevsIT kinda sucks….big time
Se il video potessr avere la traduzione in italiano
what hand guards are those ?
Sorry for the very late replay. You can see them here ua-cam.com/video/JRCbKm3F4GM/v-deo.html
Where can I buy them?
I purchased mine from a Kawasaki main dealer. However you can here depending on your country. moto-cnc.com/kawasaki-z1000sx-bar-riser-kit

I think I must have some Italian blood in me somewhere. LOL
