@@FIFLAN6 Please check the Royal Thai Gazette before you confirm ... I am hearing blue zone restrictions will apply for 7 days in tourist destinations and will be very restrictive ... Thai pass ( COE ) curfews, nightlife, SHA plus hotels, quarantine lengths and mandatory tracking app will all be discussed and declared in the Royal Thai Gazette soon ... Just check it's still ok for you, because I suspect there are a few twists and turns to come , if it is then enjoy .

Thanks Teya for your information and we will follow your information and contact the Thai Embassy in London to get our arrangements sorted out so that we may not need to leave our holiday location in Khao Lak and spend possibly one whole day traveling to Phuket to the department of immigration to extend our 30day visa if we can possibly arrange it here in the uk 🇬🇧 before we travel . Great news Teya, combined with the lockdown ending in Melbourne on Midnight on Thursday, I am feeling exceptionally happy. Thank you.
I’m also very happy for you and all Thai people in getting them back into to work and not suffering financially, thank goodness for vaccines that save lives and can now get the world back to some sort of normality. I lost my job in March 2020 due to the pandemic, but now that we are coming out of lockdown I have a new job I am starting in a couple of weeks. But I am lucky in Australia that at least I have been getting unemployment benefits unlike so many people like yourself around the world, but I am grateful that we have had very few deaths in Australia. I hope you get a lot of tourists quickly and that a lot of your subscribers hire you and help you get back up and running.
I can’t wait to earn some money and save up to visit Thailand again, although it will remind me of my Scottish ex girlfriend who died suddenly 3 months ago, she was the love of my life, my soul mate who was a Buddhist and who I hope to reunite with in my next life. I am still grieving heavily but she has let me know she is around me at times which has given me great comfort. Wishing you and your family all the best Teya.

@@ItsThaithings Thank you Teya, yes I know she does, she was a very smart, generous, strong, compassionate, empathetic and very funny woman, she was a Cabaret Artist, I will post a link to one of her shows, I was lucky to have her in my life, she was only a year older than me, she just turned 57. I was still friend’s with her. I think the level of grief we feel when we lose someone is a sign of the love we have for that person.

You'll need to wait for the update in the future. If you go to Phuket, you don't have to quarantine.

Quietman, please check the royal Thai gazette before you book anything ... I am hearing and it's only my thoughts that there are 7 day blue zone restrictions when you arrive in Thai and cannot go out of these blue zones for the first 7 days and these movements are very restrictive in some of the major tourist destinations like BKK & Chiang Mai etc etc ... Please don't think it's no quarantine and you can travel where you want .... Please just double check on curfew status,.tracking app, blue zones ( quarantine areas ) Thailand Pass ( COE ) and the latest news out of BKK is 26 tourists arrested in BKK for drinking a beer at 10.45pm ... If it's still for you then have a great time but I believe all is not what it was all supposed to be ????

I have a question if I'm coming for 14 days in January what insurance do I need, or can I just get the regular insurance I get when I book my flight and hotel. ??
You need to wait and follow news about traveling in 2022. We even don't know if we can open Thailand in November. Next year seems too long to tell

It's not a news. just general information which it's always be like this.
I get caught out occasionally with return tickets. I have never returned to my original country (Australia) from Thailand due to work in other countries . To get a return ticket to originating country is costly and ridiculous so now I just get a cheap exit flight to anywhere since I never know where and when I will be returning to Australia.
Great information. One matter I hope the government clarifies. Do traveler’s to Phuket have to come via Singapore alone ? Many flights from the west come via a KL layover. Clarification on this would help western visitors lock in flights earlier and book hotels providing a great deal of assurance for the PK hotel industry. Post 1st November.

Today I call in the Thai consulate in Cyprus to ask for Visa . They tell me that we have to apply for visa for 90 days and will cost about 300 euros ( 11216 THB ) + 100 euros for insurance per person . I know that before visa was about 30 euros and now is about 10 times more . Why ? Do you think will stay like that for long time ? We are couple and for visa's and insurance we have to pay about 800 euros 29911 THB wich is very expensive for us and we decided not to travel for now .
Nothing new then! By the way, those of you who are excited, remember 2 things: 1). You still have to jump through some hoops to get CoE or the new Thailand Pass (assuming that happens!) from your local embassy. 2), As yet you can not drink alcohol in restaurants/ bars (apart from restaurants in Phuket - only). The government suggest this might happen on 1st Dec - no guarantee

I'm telling it as it is. You can NOT buy alcohol at the moment. If they don't change their mind for the umpteenth time, it may be available from 1st December. They're desperate, so it may well happen. I'm not whinging, I'm warning people about that and also that it is not straightforward as the video suggests. A 2 week holiday In Pattaya at the moment would be a bad idea, unless you are tea total and are not interested in the bar girl scene, etc. Of course, the alternative is Phuket, where you can buy alcohol. I'll be the first to say that I dislike Phuket (Patong beach). But I get he impression that Pattaya is where you want to be.
By the way, you can buy me a beer, but not in that S**T hole street, Soi Pothole (Chaiyapoon to you).

I've never been into street drinking with mates. Maybe the occasional drink in some tiny condo room on rare occasions, but only the occasional drink, not a whole evening. I prefer socialising in bars, cafes and restaurants.
GoGos and short time girls are for what expats call 2 week millionaires, that's if you bar fine them.
I'm a part time ex pat (usually 6 months a year around SE Asia), but have spent enough time in Pattaya and other places in Thailand to know the scene.
Long term girl friends? I've been there and done that.
I still meet girls in those places, but I never bar fine them and never pay a going rate. There are ways round both these. I even had a dancer as a girlfriend, once for about 18 months. Occasionally I meet girls elsewhere, like ones in the service industry.
Anyway, all of that said, nearly all the expats I know (including part timers) want to spend time in bars and occasionally GoGo's with girls - usually not to bar fine, but occasionally buy them a drink.
Back to the 2 week millionaires - they are the ones that the locals and the government want, not us lot who know the ropes.
I hope you're right about Xmas, but I doubt it will be anything like normal. I assume you've seen all videos of many closed shops, bars, café, etc - quite a lot are in a dreadful state of repair.
Incidentally, I am optimistic and expect to be going out early January - soon after you.
Like I said, I am realistic about it all.

What have your successful Thai friends been doing for investments for funding their retirement, other than their children supporting them. My old landlord who was born in Bangkok owned a lot of real estate all around Thailand. In Bangkok he owned a 30 unit apartment building and would rent out floors of it for businesses to move into and also rent out rooms by the night, like a hotel. He also owned farmland in Udon Thani and would let farmers live on the land and he would get a share of the crops.

Hello Teya, I am holding Indian passport and in November I will be flying from Singapore to Bangkok thru Thai airways and transffeing to another Indian airlines to India. Layover time is 6hrs, I may have to collect luggege and recheckin luggege again. Do I need to get transit or tourist visa to do this? Thank you in advance 🙂
One more step back to normal. I'm from Sweden and Sweden has been exempted from visa for up to 30 days at least during the last 40 years. I think they introduced the need to be abel to show you financial status 1983 or 1984, just suddenly as usual. I came from Malaysia by train and at the border station they required to see my financial status to let me in to Thailand. At least for westerners it was enaught to show a credit card like Visa/Mastercard/Amex. I could show my MasterCard but the border station was full of people making a visa run and couldn't show enaught of money to return to Thailand :)

The option to extend the 30 day visa exemption, is not that easy, given that to get in initially, you have to have a return flight out within 30 days, so it would then involve a flight change when in the country , which could be very expensive. Do you know of any way round this Teya?

Really need some advice please Teya. I arrive in Bangkok on 3rd November. Looks like Thailand Pass application will not be available until 1st November. This leaves me no time to apply for Thailand Pass. I am fully vaccinated travelling from UK. any idea what I should do? 🤞
ํYou should apply COE and do as the old entering. You need to book the hotel for a quarantine and ask the hotel if they can refund the booking when the rule change. but I don't think 1st Nov. will open. I could be wrong

So I land in Bangkok from the UK and pass another PCR test. I can't travel back to my house in Khon Kaen because its not a province open to tourists.

Hi Barrie, please check the royal Thai gazette ... Again this is my opinion only but there are strong indications that the Thai government will implement blue zone restrictions within the tourist destinations and you cannot leave these blue zones for 7 days ... Tracked via your tracking app ... Just get all the facts first before you commit please .

I understand about they won't answer the phone. But why can't you email theml? We have clients from LA who we made COE for. We could talk with them via the phone.
Neal, try to e mail them. I have had quite a few e mail conversations with the Los Angeles Thai Embassy, in the past 12 months. I always get a response within 24 hours. Take care.
