Thanks Russ for the great video... We toured Port Townsend and rode the ferry.. back in 2004 ... Nice to refresh our Vacation with you sharing your video... Travel Safe and a big howdy to Scoobs !!!
I would LOVE to take a ride on a Ferry boat. Some day.....some day. Looks like you and Scoobers had fun. Thank you for the great video. Give Scoobers a big hug from me.
Nice videos. I have rode the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton across the Puget sound quite a few times. I have been to Fort Casey State park too. Nice memories. You and Scoobs enjoy and take care.
Gulp! That Ferry Boat Ride was pricey! Wow. Really interesting to see your tour - all those decks, vehicles of all sizes, and even a restaurant. Cool. I haven't been on a ferry in years. Ellis Island? Port Aransas? Can't remember. Nothing like that ferry, that's for sure! Beautiful views, another great video. Thanks Russ for all you do ... including paying pricey ferry fares LOL !!! Hi to the Scoobs!
That discharge ceremony at Fort Casey was cool even though we saw little of it. My discharge ceremony was opening an envelopeII got in the mail---inside was my dischage certificate (DD Form 250 ?). You were fortunate to have great weather while in Washington.
Lots of students in the area go on class field trips to Camp Casey in the 5th grade. They are usually there for a few days. I didn't go but my husband did and he still talks about it.
That brought back memories. I used to live in a small town named Poulsbo out on the Puget Sound. Would take the ferry to Seattle. There's several small ferries that crosses the bays to connect the roads. Are you heading towards the ship yard in Bremerton?
I stood on the barrels of those guns in 1967 when they were located in a small fort on Grande Island at the entrance to Subic Bay in the Philippines. I only found out in recent years that they had been removed the next year and brought to the States for Fort Casey. It's hard for me to believe that was over a half century ago, already.
Russ, it is like you read my mind! :) I was hoping that you would have a chance to visit Fort Casey. I have spent many hours exploring the concrete bunkers and gun emplacements. Many of the areas have been closed off over the years because of liability. Still a great place to visit. The ferry that you rode is one of the new medium sized boats. The ferry landing on the Whidbey Island side of the run is so shallow, the larger boats can't enter the jetty area at low tide. Safe travels to you and Scoobie....
ya, those planes bothered me too, but more during the daytime. did get to see an eagle catch his sushi out in Skagit Bay. those pay phones are for the badddddddddddddddddd cell phone reception. was last in Port Townsend, 1975. how long was the ferry ride?
I'm interested in those small ferries (not the person-;haha), like those that cross the Willamette in Oregon. I think Canby ferry is the one...I might do a trip that involves one now since I've seen this vid.
I wondered what it cost to ride that ferry. The Galveston ferry is free. I heard someone say the ferry into Victoria, BC was expensive. Now I have some type of comparison.
I've been on a small ferry ride but that ferry was cool! I like how Scoobs was enjoying the ride, she is so calm and ready for any adventure!
Another great day on the road and sea, thanks Russ for the beautiful video.
