If you think about it, since Asgore trained Undyne.. Then in his serious fight, he'd be using Fire AND the mechanics we saw in Undyne's battles.
Also he is said to be good at dodging so you could have a rng bs. Where he just evades attacks randomly. Without mentioning that having that much power changes physically the monster possessing it. Ex. Undone and flowey

Yeah, this is also done in other sections of Genocide to indicate that Chara is gaining conscience again. Not entirely sure what the Undertale lore is supposed to be but it's not necessarily a new thing!

@@PhysicsChan destroying the buttons is basically removing the abilities to spare, fight or consume items. So basically what he says is Asgore is removing those abilities from the human brain to keep the human from not being able to do it.

Actually, there are a lot of monsters, who have survived in genocide. Though, after "Erase", it doesn't matter. For an idea, Alphys evacuated a lot of monsters (the amount is unknown), in our fight against mettaton Ex, we can see ratings of more than 10000. Even though, we have killed only around a hundred. Don't forget, that in ruins, we have seen something akin to a city or castle, in Snowdin - a house that is too far away for us to reach, in hotland (and by monster kid), it was mentioned that there are schools (or, at least one school), though, we have never seen it. Same with the new home

@@Caughtintheinterweb Napstablook couldn't die since he was a ghost, and unlike Mad dummy and Mettaton who are also ghosts, they were able to be killed since they were fully possessing their respective bodies (Mad Dummy only does in the genocide route), and despite the world presumably being destroyed after Asgore gets killed like in normal genocide route, Napstablook has shown to be able to survive world changing events like this (Since at the end of true pacifist and talk to him, he says how he looked outside and everything was white from Asriel absorbing everyone's souls, and he just closes his blinds and ignoring it, and we know this isn't just because he was indoors when it happened since checking Asriel specifically states that he is a "Legendary being made of every SOUL in the underground" so maybe non-corporeal ghosts are an exception to stuff like this)

@@aguyontheinternet8436 from what I remember, it's because Asgore is essentially depressed. He had given up. When we get to him, he doesn't necessarily want to fight us. He just kinda wanted to die. Read into it.
That could be a concept for hard mode. Asgore is less depressed so he's both fighting harder in pacifist/neutral and is ready to absorb the souls in genocide.

Honestly the risk/reward idea of using LOVE to fully heal, but drop your max HP is pretty great, especially for a final boss setting

Well, the SOUL's gave him a power boost. While we don't know what would really happen if ASGORE took them, we could assume, emphasis on assume, that the power boost increased his ability to destroy menu options. Hence, he can destroy the FIGHT and ITEM options.
I'm pretty sure all the "buttons" and stuff do literally exist in Undertale. Fights in that game's universe are contests of will and magic, not just physical brawls.

@@TheDragonFoxYT Sans wasn't easy by any means, but you knew what to expect most of the time. The kind of spam that I dislike would be stuff like the first two attacks of this fight where there's a TON of projectiles and the pattern is hard to see.
3:40 would be another example as well. Looks almost impossible to dodge fully.

This probably wouldn't even be the power asgore would be at if he had all the souls. I think toby fox has said that asgore would be harder than sans if he was ACTUALLY trying in his fight. Undyne also said that he would doge her attacks. He was letting you hit him because he really didn't want to kill you.

I actually really enjoy it. Out of a lot of other fangames ive seen and played, normally there is no replayablity or if there is its maybe 1 or twice. but theres so much content in this game, and I just found out about classic mode (Which If we get to 4k subs, Ill probably pair it with impossible mode and try beating that since i like the challenge) But in all honesty, i dont think asgore gets a lot of love these days, and i think this fan game is in my top 5.

The lunatic face of Asgore in the thumbnail is actually an unused sprite Toby Fox mentioned. It is originally for a final attack but Toby scrapped it because it will be too difficult. I would like to see the attack being recreated in mods but sadly in this video we do not see it.
