Odom was so underappreciated his whole career. He had all the physical qualities but he was so well rounded as a player he could do anything offensively or defensively

Been re watching some hilights and don't get me wrong Odom is a great player. But Kobe's b ball IQ is insane. Not just in this clips but in other Odom or gasol's big games the way he created space for them and set screens or just taking multiple defenders away so they could operate was brilliant.
LeBron stans like to call Kobe's bball IQ into question because Bron has always been great at recognizing where help is coming from and finding the open man, but Kobe was able to be a dominant scorer while still playing within the context of an actual offense. He had an excellent sense of when to throw away the play call and play isoball, when to dump it in the post, how to operate off ball, where to position himself to get good looks for his teammates. Like, I don't think I've seen LeBron score without having the ball since he's been on the Heat.
True but Odom played exceptional defense. He could guard 1-5. In the 2010 Celtics series Odom carried on both ends. Had a +13 highest box score impact for the whole series
