  • "Basketball has given me everything I love.” Those were Lamar’s words as he talked about receiving the Sixth Man of the Year award. From 2008 to 2010, the Lakers made 3 straight Finals appearances. They lost to the Celtics in their first go around, but sacrifice was needed to claim the game’s greatest prize. Enter Lamar Odom. In 2009, even though he was an impending free agent, he accepted the role of coming off the bench. That selflessness shined through and allowed that Lakers team to win back-to-back championships.
    The perennial playmaker was at his prime during this 3 year span: 2009 NBA championship. 2010 NBA championship. 2010 FIBA World Championship. 2011 Sixth Man of the Year. He became the first player in history to win NBA and FIBA gold in the same year. What’s more impressive is that he was arguably the most important player on that 2010 team riddled with past and future MVPs (Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry), Finals MVPs (Chauncey Billups, Andre Iguodala), and DPOYs (Tyson Chandler). His versatility allowed that team to flourish, starting as the center for every game of the tournament, and leading the team in rebounds.
    No matter what happens, those who love the game should love how much Lamar has given back. He’s shown us what’s important in basketball: unselfishness. Sacrifice. Heart.

    I decided to publish this for two reasons: the obvious one being that finally some good news is coming out about Lamar. The other being that my latest video (the Bulls Frontcourt Passing) was taken down recently, and it felt strange having my latest video be 2 weeks old. So this is my video for this week, a day early. Enjoy!

      +Bryson Townsend I genuinely don't know. I make all my videos the same way and acknowledge that everything belongs to the NBA, but sometimes they can just choose to block content and that's what happened here.

      +PurePozi I actually upload some videos that are finished early and set them to private until the time I normally publish and I was informed of some copyright issues, so I'm working on figuring out what the problem is, then repost. So yeah, hopefully next week!

      @RondoStyle9 9 років тому +1

      +PurePozi Draymond was underrated for so long that now he's horribly overrated and the worst part is, the way he's talking it looks like he thinks hes a top 20 player or something

    • @RondoStyle9
      @RondoStyle9 9 років тому +1

      Okay you can take +/-, but PER, which is a much more reliable advanced stat, gives him a 16.43 which is barely above 15, the league average. What I'm saying is you can't take a single stat and immediately determine someone is a top 10 player that's not how it works. In addition, Draymond is the 4th option at best for GSW, and never ever gets any real defensive attention. To be a top 10 player in the league, you must be able to carry the team, unless you want to argue Tony Allen is also a top 10 player. Draymond doesn't have any elite offensive skills, and he can't create offense by himself. You can't compare him to any real stars because they get the entire opposing team defense and double/triple teams geared up to stop them. Draymond gets wide open threes and dump off passes from Steph for majority of his points every game, which isn't very high anyways. Also he can't defend any quick guards/forwards, he only can trap pick/roll and guard some softer big men inside. Ex: LeBron/Mozgov were bullying him entire finals. He's very overrated

      Randle will never be at Lamar's level. Lamar had one of the best coach during his LA career, also practicing and training day and night for years with the Laker team back then would teach you so much more. Just imagine playing/practicing with big shot Rob, Rick fox, Shaq, kobe, Gasol, fisher and couple more.

      Julius Randle, very strong in the paint, but low basketball IQ... Lamar Odom very high IQ, best passer in the position, coast to coast, finisher, sometimes shooter... the perfect teammate for all star player...
