For future reference, when dating Fender guitars, you want to verify the serial number, and take the neck off. There's a date stamped in the neck pocket of the body. You also want to date the pots and pickups. Also an original 57' should have the original case with it, so its a redflag to see it with a cheap gigbag. It's common to find a neck placed onto a more modern guitar body. I'd definitely follow these steps when vintage guitars come into the shop. Unless it's a reissue, which is common for Fender and Gibson. I think you are very very knowledgeable but vintage instruments can be tricky, and dont want you ripped off. Hope this helps!

@@shawn657 I can believe it. Vintage rare items (especially easily breakable items like this) carry a lot of nostalgia -- someone who used to own one may be seeking one out, again! There is sometimes no consistent price point for old rare collectibles, so it comes down to what someone is willing to pay. The other possibility is that fans of the channel are doing it intentionally!
@Nabooru I think it's fans of the channel. Pete was askabout $250 for the lamp but he decided to put it on auction so everyone can have a fair shot. I could be wrong but that is crazy lol
@@shawn657 250 seems pretty consistent with some other listings! This is definitely some fan love, but I'm all for it! Kind of curious if this will influence or affect future resales of this collectible!
Just so people understand, the Stratocaster being sold is from Fender's Relic collection. The Relic collections are made to look like an old vintage Fender. It's actually not a real 57 Strat. If it were it would be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Nice of you to hook the jacket guy up with an extra $10. About that Fender…seems weird that he didn’t have the nice tweed case it came with and had it paired with a bottom end practice amp. The fact that he didn’t know much about the $2000 guitar he owned (or how to play it even at a basic level, let’s be honest) seems suspect.
He was very suspicious. But in a later episode , he went way off the deep end. He snuck in the store in broad daylight and stole the guitar back. I bet it was never his to begin with.
Those packout holders all the stuff is in are worth decent money each (in Europe, less in the US as the standards aren't the same size, less people use them). If those are tools of a Germany company that got sent out to the US on project, it's likely all top notch stuff, but the question is was the stuff stolen from the company, since usually they will just put it all back on a container for the return. Also possible the company made so much money it wasn't worth dealing with bring it back and get all new stuff.

And $10 for the crate so she did over pay him $10
Only been backtracking your videos for over a week now ,, but when I saw the " fell of the back of a lorry " gear with german descriptions on the boxes , I was like whoa ,,,, but the main Unit had a " Stock Nr. "from 2015 on it , but like the way you try to pronounce german 👍
I think the guy with the jacket got a 10 dollar tip. Agreed on 460, counted 470 and summed it up as being 460. You need some rest Pete! :D
Hey good catch! I never noticed that, had to go back
I think he was testing him... He knew what he was doing, I think he wanted to see if other guy would say anything.
@@billylongmont3438 why on earth would he do that??
@@ToddyTornado lol idk, I didn't mean anything by it, it just seemed like he was kind of watching him for a reaction of some sort as he counted out the money. Like maybe hoping he would catch it and say something, idk.
@@billylongmont3438 ya he was kind of watching. Just bizarre I guess
That unicorn is bringing in bank! Knew you had something special there. It just resonates with so many people!
I think people are trolling there's no way someone's gonna pay over 2 grand lol maybe I'm wrong bur damn
@@shawn657yeah, it’s $3200 now with 1.5 days left 😂. There’s identical one unsold for $500 listed.
Just so people understand, the Stratocaster being sold is from Fender's Relic collection. The Relic collections are made to look like an old vintage Fender. It's actually not a real 57 Strat. If it were it would be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Yeah that drove me crazy. I was like they are at least $20,000 off if it were a original 57.
600 for it is also a steal, wonder where that dude got it to sell it without any research. 2K on reverb
Guitar guy talking waaay too much
Damn the lava light is at 2k great auction
always watching from tacoma washington...
and from Coyle, WA.
I think Bret’s wife is a Barbie doll
dude if I ever go to Illinois, I am going to see Pete man...he seems like the coolest freaking guy ever
Meant 50 year dead fan . Constant Jackie fan . Craigslist hunter fan for about 2months . Thanks !
That boy had his WHOLE Naruto vibe on.. lol, love it!!!
You mean the 40 yr old man?
Lmfao that balding Naruto fan boy had me in tears… then his voice. Jesus Christ
I used that tool many times , its indeed studwelding. very handy.
That tuner on the classical guitar is such an easy fix! And comes with a case too!
Your a good man Pete ❤
Yes GOD bless you ‼️dealing with what you do 🤪good luck & keep your COOL ‼️🇺🇸✝️
gorgeous colorplay on that bird.
I think pete even noticed he gave him $10 extra after counting he even did a double look at the $10 when he said $460
I loved watching this thank you, and yes it does look like a gameboy SP
A lot of people tweakin' in chicago.
PS3 guy is cool as. Love that dude and wish him well ❤️
That other dude was intrigued hehe 🙃 interesting guy
thats a re issue 1957 stratocaster still worth 1k or 2k depending if its usa or japanese if it was a real 1957 strat it would be around $45 000
We all know that, pete and dude have an ENTIRE conversation about exactly that plus pete paid 600😂😂
Love videos guys. Just wanted to give you a quick tip when it comes to Google lens you can hold your camera over different languages and it will translate as well. Keep up the good work 👍
I just love that little kid and his Dad. xoxo
