    Sometimes I think I could be a good high school wrestling coach because I know every mistake a wrestler can make, especially in their food intake. My high school sophmore year I was getting roughly 100 grams of protein a day on a thousand calorie a day diet. I was eating a lot of soy protein powder. It was cheap. I was also doing a lot of working out on my own, outside of practice. My body adjusted to this meager diet, and it became very hard to lose any more weight through calorie deficit. So I had to dehydrate. If I had to lose more than 7 - 8 pounds through dehydration something just left me, and I couldn't perform on the mat. When I went up a weight I gained twelve pounds over night. I increased my body weight by ten percent over night.

      @GarageStrength  3 роки тому +7

      Yeah we do not recommend hydration cuts of that level, that can definitely affect your performance

    13:42 this part right here.. its so sad. I'm working toward a degree in healthcare and I'll be done in December. What breaks my heart is seeing 14-16 year olds with EDs (not eating). Watching how their families suffer as their childs body slows down. To any coaches, be careful with what you say and what you teach, peoples lives are on your hands.
    edit: this goes out to parents and family members as well.

      @SvpremeKi 3 роки тому +3

      Basically anything fried

    • @jinruizhang
      @jinruizhang 2 роки тому

      nothing tbh. Just know what are the components of those foods and how many calories they have. Just adjust the amount of the food to your caloric and nutrient goals. On a general health level though, anything processed, deep fried, high in unhealthy fats should ba avoided. these are things such as fast food, snacks, cookies and such.

    when I'm training I have to be in a good mindset to train, for me I think diet has allot to do with it, like what chemicals are in my brain and what parts of my brain and body are activated at which times and foods have allot to do with it

    It's odd seeing stock footage of models eating or preparing food, like the black fella and the two ethnic ladies dining over wine, or the skinny model woman in yellow preparing a stew in her luxury kitchen, with those stupid ornate citrus fruits on the counter. I know this is a cheeky comment 🤭 but footage of your stable of wrestlers (or even you) doing any of these things would have been much more appropriate. Great information otherwise! 😅🤫
