    Man, Abelisaurids were really strange creatures. I notice that in evolution, as predatory dinosaurs get larger, their arms get smaller, and their heads get more massive. I guess it’s to help with balance. But the weird thing is that the skulls of abelisaurids weren’t very big compared to other great predatory dinosaurs, like Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and T. rex. Which leads me to think that they were probably primarily scavengers. I could be wrong, but I personally think their skulls were not strong enough to help take down prey like sauropods, so they probably just payed more attention to baby dinosaurs.

    • @mistypikku
      @mistypikku 2 роки тому +4

      They have short strong skulls, also pretty much no theropod could take down a fully grown sauropod

    • @AgroAcro
      @AgroAcro Рік тому

      They couldn't be just scavengers, there eis bi way they could find enough food. They definitely sometimes scavenged but they hunted too. Also I doubt they went for full grown Sauropods, probably just juveniles.

    • @dvrp4532
      @dvrp4532 10 місяців тому

      In the first description of Pycno, it was 7m long, but later analyzes showed that it was much larger, 9m long, which made it the largest abelisaur in at least South America, and more, the Pycno fossil was probably a subadult (analyzing the tibia size with the vertebrae, which indicates the growth phase), that is, Pycno could be even bigger☠️
