Cutting only snippets of the "speech" to smear someone without proper context is disingenuous and lazy reporting and should be viewed as such. The "kill the boer" speech remains hate speech as most South Africans know the context within what it is said and sung, given the brutal farm murders that are reported on nearly every week and sometimes daily.

I have more of an issue with how the media have reported on it all. In both the IOL and N24 article, nowhere do they mention that he was saying it as an example of proving his point of hypocrisy around "Kill the Boer". All they report on is his direct quote, taking away all context. If they told the full story, and still tuned him for it, and said it was still inappropriate, fair enough. But they have deliberately hidden all context behind the clip.

As a person I don't agree with Julius when he sings that song but being called (boer,white or afrikaner) last time I checked is not a racial slur (Google the definition of each). The difference between Malema and renaldo is that renaldo crossed the line when he uttered racial slurs making him a racist. He would have been on equal ground with malema's statements if he kept it at BLACK(which is not a racial slur). Going to those extremes is uncalled-for. No need for negative racial adjectives.

The DA has been put in a position to prove they are not racist, therefore this is very bad for Renaldo, especially with the second video dropping. The DA is also negotiating for different positions.
