Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 чер 2024
- The Caribbean’s variety of governmental structures and complex history can make it difficult to determine which islands are actual countries, and which ones are technically not. In this presentation, we will provide clarity on this subject and explain four types of government and political structure of the Caribbean, and answer the question of how many Caribbean countries there really are.

Great job and excellent explanation.
It’s a dream of mine to see every island in the Caribbean
Hi I'm from the Caribbean
There are also mainlands wich are considerd caribbean
@@deborahgeorge6806hi where you from im from suriname I don't know if you know abou Suriname
@@arfaannoermahomed3443 yes I know. French Guinea, Suriname, Guyana, Belize, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras. I consider them all Caribbean countries.
Interesting info!
Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba fought and won their independence long before any of those other Islands. We have the most brave and fearless people in the Caribbean.
You are just gonna skip over the history like that
@@clydemaccorrio3501 it’s true. What other Caribbean island has actually fought real wars of independence and not it being gifted by the queen. I’m talking about an all out war. The only ones who can truly say that are DR, Haiti and Cuba.
@@J4RMAMS you are.being dishonest ..you forget the empire.of mali exist ..
Haiti and Cuba sure. DR doesn’t count.
@@clydemaccorrio3501 Mali is not in the Caribbean.....
As a Barbadian,I'm glad we moved away from hanging on to the colonial coat tail and I pray more Caribbean territories do the same.
Yes,you've come a long way since the mid 1950s,when your unemployment rate of 25%, caused your govt. to ask the colonial mother to take some of your denizens as residents so that they could take up employment over there.....
awesome
I wish all Caribbean Countries would leave the Commonwealth.
Why? This allows free trade across all countries of caricom
@Black Sparrow there are no tariffs on goods going to other countries who are apart and of course people can acquire jobs across these countries.
The benefits may not be big between Canada and USA but the little adds up.
Trinidad make medications and alot of other products that they trade so it workout well with those other countries
U r saying that isn't true what you want the world to believe Castro isn't bad the u s a is bad luck
Nice video but i think the Dominican Republic is the bestest example of a Republic of those countries, it has the biggest economy in the caribbean and it's one of the most stable republic in all the Américas
Actually, Haiti currently is a failed state without a government and is ruled from the US embassy.
Martinique and Guadeloupe 😍
Force for Haiti ! The conséquence political that we paid to be seperated to soon.
Territories are still full blown Colonies, regardless of any excuses given by any parties.
The British Commonwealth ones are quasi colonies.
Only the ones that have gained full sovereignty, are Countries.
Great video, some Caribbean island are not independent, like Grenade for example, Grenade are not a independent island, I know someone will asked why not,
If referring to Grenada it became fully independent in February 7th ,1979
@Marlene Pollard most are only given a symbol of independence... the leaders are puppets of higher powers
Belize 🇧🇿
There's was something hidden and unfair in this report due to recent political instability some countries were overlooked
Couldn't agree with you more
Which countries are you referring to?
Most of the Caribbean islands biggest companies are controlled by European s or Chinese government.
In Jamaica alone there are three bauxite factories one Chinese, American, European. They are destroying Jamaica and the people who live near the dog sites. All for 120 million dollars a year. It’s not worth it and we’re running out of land.

No we don't... We are full of illegals
however you dont control your prostitution
Independence day February 27 1844
Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
Guyana and Surname is not in the Caribbean, but I get it, they're affiliated with all the these Islands.
I am guyanese and I clearly disagree with u because being caribbean doesn't means u have to be in the caribbean look at our culture ,food, people, music, festivals, and we're mostly people of same race or like I said before culture but no need for me to educate u look up history and learn more of the caribbean .
@@Kevin-nh5je you clearly didn't read my comment correctly, however you dice it, slice it they still not in the Caribbean, but however i went on to say they're affiliated with the Caribbean Islands which means they have the same culture.
@@glendenecarter3800 I'm so sorry glen I really should have understood before I war u down but u definitely have to visit guyana.
@@Kevin-nh5je It's ok, I don't think I can right now but it sounds good, maybe some day hopefully. I will visit little Guyana in queens to see my best friend she's Guyanese, her mom cooks some good tasty food 😋 ☺️
Why did you said that
I beg to differ on some of your comments, for example, After Haiti, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago are the two oldest Republics in the Caribbean and has been so even before some of the other islands even got independence. Therefore all the other islands have seen and known what its like to be a Caribbean Republic from these two larger more populated countries. So explain to us why use relatively new Republics such as Barbados and Dominica as examples ???????
fr???
My observation also....will not be sharing this
The video was an explanation of the different political structures, not about which ones are older. When it comes to explaining the differences between Republic and other structures. It did its job.
@@Leenite1000 ohhhh :0
How long a country been a Republic is of no significance to what this video was trying to explain. ??????????????
Hurricane!!!
God is in control of world
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹👍
I wonder which island will be a Republic NEXT.
Jamaica 🇯🇲
@@candicefarrel472 This is not a foregone conclusion.......Jamaica could have been a republic a long time ago if They had wanted to......the average Jamaican is not strident and "activist" in nature...... but They are not immune to trouble makers......and this is a different age...
Definitely Jamaica , I believe the uk said no over ten years ago when Jamaica had a female prime minister.
It’s time all these countries around the world break the hold of their former colonial masters.
@@Alkelly-hh6rv The UK cannot deny Jamaica becoming a republic.....only Jamaica can say nay...Jamaica is a sovereign nation...
As for being in the commonwealth,Jamaica can be in it without having the British Monarch as Their Head of State....however They'll probably have more to lose by not being in it,if They choose to leave altogether....
Skn🇰🇳🙂
Caribbean Overseas Territories ... you neglected to mention "French Guiana" one of the three "Guianas".
French guiana ( la Guyane) IS NOT in the caribbean
@@stevauhn ... geographically it is not - but they (the country) consider themselves part of the French Caribbean (culturally).
@@stevauhn you are ignorant. Let me educate you where the world Caribbean comes from the word Caribbean comes from the Amerindian tribe called the carrib who is located in North of South America and Colombia. The name did not come from the sea. No country is in the sea. It is spelled Guyana not Guyane.
None of the Guianas are caribbean
Then I guess all Caribbean nations must unite together into United Caribbean Union even all their sports teams work together. Even the highest possible Caribbean democratic nation must make this a great possible united democratic Caribbean Union nation.
everybody in dominica called SHILLINGFORD lol
u miss Belize
I just watched another and they didn’t mention Belize or Guyana either, even though its a battle if Guyana is even in the Caribbean
They need to drop the air fare for these Caribbean islands especially Barbados 🇧🇧
that’s the airline. it’s business. start your own airline and give cheaper prices. simples
I’m telling you, to fly to the Caribbean is very expensive
Aruba is the best caribbean island❤❤❤
Jamaica 🇯🇲 and Trinidad
The thing is I dont trust the Jamaican government to manage the country. They are greedy and corrupt. All of them. They shall surely destroy us completely for money. Money which is over rated because soon enough you will realize it doesn't worth a thing.
@@gypsyqueen19olong70 😆😄
Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago led the Independence movement in the Caribbean and Haiti, Dominican Rep and Trinidad & Tobago led the Republican movement in the Caribbean.
And Yet none of them were singled out in detail
Trinidad/Tobago,along with Jamaica and Barbados, plus several Eastern Caribbean states was part of a West Indian federation up until about 1960/1.......Trinidad and Barbados wanted to keep the federation,as did the then,pre-independence Prime minister of Jamaica,Norman Manley.......but once Jamaica had a referendum on Their future in the federation,They voted overwhelmingly, much to Manley's chagrin ,to leave it,to pursue independence.....re-inforced by Alexander Bustamante(not Manley) becoming Jamaica's first post-independence PM.....causing the federation to collapse....Trinidad/Tobago then pursued its' own independence ambitions.....
@@michaelwinter7136 1 from 10 leaves 0. the words of eric williams from trinidad.
And out of them only DR, Cuba and Haiti fought and gained independence. The rest had the queen gift it to them.
@@J4RMAMS Haiti bought Their independence. The repercussions of that is still being seen and felt today.
Bermuda isn’t in the Caribbean
From the start Anglo bias. There is a huge island just freaking west of Cuba. Man what's wrong with you.
Wrong. Cuba did not become communist in 1959. After the revolution, Castro turned to the USA and the west for support. Not only was he rebuffed but he was opposed and undermined. It was only then that Castro turned to Russia. As Russia helped, Cuba gradully became communist in the early 60s.
Western Babylon matrix 🙃
English speaking Caribbean Islands are still colonies of uk. The King is still represented by the governor general
that’s nonsense
Cuba is not a communist country is a socialist country if Cuba was a communist country why would its adopt socialist policies, and not communist policies
Propaganda station.
1. proper spelling please.
2. know your Caribbean "history".
In the Bahamas we have a Immagration problem we need to fix before we become a republican
trinidad have an immigration problem from venezuela which i dont think trinidad can fix.
