Thank you for this, the instruction manual is terrible at explaining the assembly 😱

What model number is the saw in this video? I purchased model number P549 which does not have a chain break. This video clearly shows this chainsaw having a chain break. Is there a specific reason the Chain Break was removed? If it happens to be a different model I would prefer to purchase the model with the Chain break

Well that video was handy thanks - particularly being locked down at home during the pandemic. At least I can do some well overdue tree trimming!

My chainsaw was delivered without a small container of oil - I've been hard done by!

In Indiana they did not stock the 12in saw in the Home Depot store (only the 10 inch in 18v). So I ordered it online and got it a couple days later. There is no chain break on the one I got, making me think that USA models do not come with this feature. I was pleased to learn that when I hang it by the key hole (in the handle) it does not leak bar oil.

I just got the non-brushless 10” chainsaw. Do you have a video on it?

well I got my chainsaw after the second order and the first finally got cancelled. I believe ryobi, after all my great experiences with the p108 battery for my home use, needs an improved more powerful battery or updated circuitry or cooling for the battery. They work great with the high draw chainsaw when brand new. BUT my one and two year old p108 batteries fail to power the chainsaw properly. You will run the tool a little bit and with a 3 bar charge still the battery will start stalling and not allowing you to cut but a little bit at a time. I know it's the battery because when it quits I can try to check the battery gauge and it won't even light up. After about 30 seconds or so it'll let me check the gauge again and the saw will power up every time soon as the battery gauge starts working again.. I hope you guys make an updated improved battery soon for these high draw tools because they're great when they work. I returned my brushless string trimmer because I thought this no start problem was the trimmer. But now I got the chainsaw and see this problem is the batteries. I have a ton of ryobi tools the batteries still work great with but apparently these more powerful brushless tools for some reason are causing it. Please make some better upgraded 18v batteries for these tools that will last throughout the life of the battery and not only run the tool when the battery is brand new.

I can't see what happens from 0.30 to 0.40 the bit where it goes over the rear sprocket, which is where i'm stuck assembling my current chainsaw.

Precisely the trouble I have - the picture makes it look like the chain has LOADS of spare space, whereas it is f*@£ing impossible to click on....

Well here I was excited to order the new brushless 18v ryobi chainsaw the first chance I could online at home depot. Now it's been over a week and they apparently never got it shipped to give me a tracking number. I contacted them to resolve whatever problem they had to get it shipped and they advised me that all I can do is purchase another one and they'll send it since they forgot to ship it apparently as they still don't have the tracking number. They can't cancel the order and resend it. Or cancel it and let me purchase another one. No they can only let me purchase another then if the order ever finishes processing somehow like if maybe the guy in the warehouse dropped my paper then picks it up later and ships it they'll charge my account for both. It was scheduled to be delivered by the middle of last week and this was the advice they gave me after it was suppose to be delivered already and still hasn't been processed and shipped. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up on how home depot resolves problems. I'll never order from them again. What they should be doing is sending me the chainsaw I purchased. But what they're doing is nothing it seems. They said as soon as it ships I'll get an email with the tracking. So if you only have $300 in your bank account don't expect to be able to order a $200 chainsaw for sure. You may need $450 or $680 or so knows how many orders you may end up with before they process them and ship it. And you'll be stuck with a ghost order wandering will they ship this and charge my account and overdraw it? It's a shame all my 15 or so tools are ryobi and only home pathetically slow or possibly do nothing depot sells them. I really thought I was going to be using this over this weekend to feed our bbq fire pit but guess not.

Have you received the chainsaw now? 😂😂😂.
In all frankness, this isn’t an issue for ryobi. This is more a complaint issue for the big box store you bought it from. Unless of course ryobi sold it to you directly.
