    You should not only forgive her freshness in this video - but very much praise her for expressing her joy of life and happiness. And I think, you also enjoyed such a fresh horse.
    Look at the scene 5:40 to 5:45 (or even better in slow motion from 5:58 onwards, especially 6:06 -6:08): her bucks and rears are not at all aggressive, she does not want to get rid of you - but she wants to play with you and make you happy. After her arrival at Dubai, she now feels at home and loves to feel you on her back and ride her so sensitively.
    And you look great, when you help her to perform at 6:08, when you hold her standing on her hind feet and walking few steps.
    Watching you adjusting your position to the rear I realize that you would make an extraordinary successful High School Dressage rider for a circus. You easily could ride their dressage stallions (as you did with Malik before).

      SarahG1183 the neck strap in this case is mostly for the rider to hold and help with balancing when the horses are a little fresh. It’s also often used for young horses or unbalanced riders so that they can hold on to the neck strap and keep their hands still instead of accidentally pulling in the horses mouth :) hope this helps

    • @888Crystal888
      @888Crystal888 6 років тому

      Get him checked out by an equine massage therapist and/or equine chiropractor. He might be blocked and can't do what is asked of him. My own mare suddenly stopped bending towards the left. Got my massage therapist out. She had 2 vertebrae in her neck that were luxated. As soon as we put them back in place, she was fine.

    • @vantaas7932
      @vantaas7932 6 років тому

      For the contact issue - go back to dead basics. I had a gelding who would rather die than give in, he was also very rushy. Walk and give slight contact, and slowly make it stronger until you feel them seeking the bit. Hold the contact for a few strides, release & praise. It's easiest to do this trying to achieve long and low contact. Practice this and move up through the gaits. For the stiffness - If you feel its more than just laziness/resistance, I'd get a chiro out. Otherwise, work on it on the ground to strengthen. Is he OTT by any chance? My old boy who ran in NSW (clockwise) struggled to the left.

    • @vantaas7932
      @vantaas7932 6 років тому

      Jump saddles push the leg forward so you can keep in the horse's motion over jumps. It's why jump saddles are harder to flat in. That being said, Lauren still has a balanced & light seat so it doesn't have any negative impact on her or the horse. Equitation is always second to riding well

      I'm just trying to think like a horse, not like a human. You're profile picture tells a story about competition and the horse as sporting equipment. I didn't expect horsemanship from people like you. Keep thinking a horse is unpredictable. Keep thinking horses love to jump over high obstacles. Keep thinking whatever you want. Sapere aude.

    • @andyvivimo
      @andyvivimo 6 років тому

      @@XQZFirefly I really careless what you think. But you are still wrong. A horse that's not ridden for a long time doesn't necessarily react to the pressure you put on or how bad you ride,it can be because of a butterfly

    • @XQZFirefly
      @XQZFirefly 6 років тому

      For someone who doesn't care, you care pretty much. I'm sorry for insulting your goddess of riding, but I just explained the reasons why that horsey bucked. A horse have to be sensitive for pressure a lifetime, because they interact with each other in the herd that way. Pressure & release is something a horses life depends on. And if you watch closely to the video, you'll see too, that the horse reacts the way it does, because it could not find an answer to the permanent pressure. At least you would see it, if you spend an objective view on the task. But who am i talking to ~.- . Horsey people are a kind of church. If you say something against their noble idol, you're heretic. Not even a critical eye for themselfes. Well, obviously there is no sense in talking to you, since you didn't even try to understand me.

    So many armchair idiots here. Gab's mouth was open because she probably left the caveson a bit loose so Gab could play with the bit a little and salivate and have a soft mouth plus it's a bridle made specifically to take pressure off the points a traditional bridle might sit. Reins are about as loose as they could go without the horse having the utter freedom to yank her head up and hollow her back and make herself incredibly sore. Yes the leg position could use some more work but I think the saddle fitter might help with that since she said the back needs to be lifted and as someone else pointed out it's a jump saddle.

    Your horse seems to have an aversion to the bit/noseband you are using. Have you tried other bits/noseband combinations? Ones that perhaps allow her to swallow her saliva and not shake her head in discomfort. Over tightened nosebands can cause ulceration in the mouth where the pressure of the noseband will the cheek against the teeth leading to mouth ulcers

      aidanneilan oh please 🙄 really? Do you not know what a fresh horse is? Shes not in any discomfort shes just acting out. And as for the saliva its a good thing to see white foam at her mouth it means shes tasting and liking the bit.

      This is just a fresh horse who hasn't been ridden in a while. She's tracking, flexing and begining to relax. She's fine.

      This horse is in pain and fighting against that pain in her mouth. What the actual fuck do you have on this horse's face anyway? Trying to crank her mouth closed and then relying on your hands to get false collection, this video is absolute bullshit. Yeah you can stick with a horse acting up, so can a lot of us, and in this case, you are contributing to the horse's behavior by causing that pain. This mare is frequently either behind the vertical or shaking her head, she is trying to *evade* your hands, do you even watch your own videos??! You should be embarrassed to put a video up of a drooling, resistant mare that is obviously in pain.

      I can't stand drop nose bands/flashes.. they are a bandaid over a deeper problem. I have no respect for people who use them.
      The horse was getting pissed off with the lack of release of pressure... she is constantly on that horses mouth, holding herself in the saddle with the reins.
      If they were taken away she would have nothing to balance on..
      Shame that people don't do better training
