Get well soon!! I'm recovering from bilateral mastectomy, and each day a little better. Last May I had a BAD cold, and it seemed to be a harder recovery than this major surgery. Warm wishes and hugs your way. 🎉❤
Feel better real soon lovely. Get yourself focusing on increasing your immune system and building your strength. You do not have to justify or explain yourself to anyone. If anyone is upsetting you or contrary, delete remove block! Big hugs xx
Sending gentle hugs and healing vibes, dear Vivi. I also am thankful for the NHS and support it wholeheartedly (my daughter is also a nurse) but understand the frustration of trying to speak to a GP, let alone see one. I think it is this that causes some people to go to A & E when they have spent several days trying to get through to their GP and are feeling desperate. The other side of this is that twice in the last 8 months I have spoken to my GP on the phone and been advised to go straight to A & E (once with very high BP for a few days), only to be "told off" by the triage nurse each time that this was a GP matter. They did also apologise and say they weren't cross with me but with more and more GPs apparently referring patients to go there. It made me feel even more anxious and upset than I had been with the initial problem, then getting through to the GP surgery, then having to take a taxi to the hospital (no-one available for a lift) and then being told off. Each time I was sent to their "urgent care" doctor with a wait of over 4 hours each time, and then got excellent treatment for which I was very grateful - so much so on one occasion that I burst into tears as he was so kind. I hope the treatment starts to kick in very soon and you are back on your feet but as tempting as it might be (I know finances and moving house will be on your mind) please don't rush things. Best wishes x
Vivi I'm happy you got into the doctor quickly. Hopefully you are on the road to recovery. My dad swore by a hot toddy a bit of whiskey, lemon and honey might give that a try.
Oh Vivi, sorry to see you under the weather and I hope you are feeling much better soon. Sorry, but I had to laugh at your indignance about the spacer. I work in respiratory and renal and have done for 15 years. We use spacers for EVERYONE regardless of age. They are so much more efficient at delivering the correct and full dose, and in a lot of cases are as effective as a nebuliser. I use one myself and it's much gentler when I'm having trouble drawing a decent breath.
Oh dear, you sound so ill but you've got everything in hand to get better soon so I hope that each day there is an improvement. Try not to do too much too soon. Just a thought about your frozen soup and limited freezer space. When you make your homemade soup, would it be a good idea to make it with a lot less water so that it's really gloopy and thick so therefore taking up less freezer space. You'd add the water when you reheat it.
Oh Viv , I hope you are feeling better soon. With you going to your local grocery more often, be awear of germs on everthing you touch ! 😮 Thank goodness you have preparded meals in the freezer.
Will pray for you, Vivi, I've found since having Covid, even though it was a mild case, colds last much longer, and drag one down more. It seems so much easier to catch what's going around. Another friend, younger than I, is on her third week. I hope you're on the mend soon. And, yes, the exhaustion. Although I'm older than you, I've noticed a significant difference in my "normal" state over the past year.
Oh Vivi, you need someone to take care of you at the moment, observation by a friend, hot soup, got water bottles. You poor darling, wish I could help in some way.🥰 Please don't push yourself at present. Your cough is a real bark sweetie - sounds like a bad chest infection. You shouldn't have to diagnose yourself (even though you can☺️). Wish I could assist... Australia is a long way away to pop over, but I would if I could...I am sure many of us would. Love and better wishes Mari-Anne xx
Wishing you well Vivi..... keep warm, hydrated and keep taking the pills ..... I know what you mean about know your normal... I too have always had low BP and low pulse rate.... familial trait , but has often alarmed practitioners.... try not to push yourself .... we are all guilty of that when we are unwell especially living on our own when things need to be done . 3GPs left my surgery this month.... it is IMPOSSIBLE to get an appointment even for my diabetes checks..... and trying to get through to 111.. it's a joke ...I recently waited over 8 hours for an ambulance for my 88yr old neighbour who had a fall . I'm not online either so that's no use to me. Frustrating enough but when you are really poorly.... glad you held your ground. ❤
This is why hospitals get overwhelmed. Our surgery is just the same, any excuse to send you elsewhere. Then when you do end up in hospital due to lack of prompt primary care..... Well you know don't you😅 Anyway, get well soon Vivi🤗💜
I hope you feel better soon Vivi. One good thing about recently turning 60 in England is that I now get free prescriptions and a free eye test. There are some benefits to getting older. 😁
Me toooo. It doesn’t have the mask at the end. Just open at end and wrap your mouth around it. It does help especially when you cough when taking deep breaths and forces you to slow down the inhalation process.
Sending you Get Well Wishes. I’m currently considering getting the flu jab but now need to pay for it. Used to get free of charge because I was my father’s carer but since he’s passed away it seems I am now surplus to requirements. So it’s now whether I fork out whatever the cost or take the chance and fingers crossed I stay upright. Maybe my morning vitamins will help? Who knows 🤷♀️…Anyway, keep cosy and look after yourself 😊
Lots of takeaways from this vid (Not literally...too much salt! 😉), but I got distracted at the end...."I'm H.A.P.P.Y, I'm H.A.P.P.Y, I know I am, I'm sure I am, I'm H.A.P.P.Y'....blimey that takes me back! My parents loved Only When I Laugh! Hope you feel better soon! 😊
I'm the same age as you Vivi & I've noticed it takes much longer to get over things so I will try & cut my sugar consumption, I don't have it in drinks but I like a biscuit so I will cut it down as I need to lose some weight now Thanks for spurring me on xx
So sad to hear your trials and tribulations. I used to be receptionist for a surgery, first in London, then in Wales, and it was so hard to take these calls every day and not have enough appointments. It got worse after the pandemic as so many doctors and nurses, worn out by working so hard for so long, decided to either leave of work part-time. Many admin staff and receptionists too. I don’t know what the answer is…good that you know how to fight your corner and to care for yourself, but please don’t be too proud to call on friends to shop/cook for you etc. Ps we have free prescriptions in Wales - so lucky
Aw Vivi am with you on that one, viruses are a menace, just slowly coming out of my CFS relapse after Covid 4 months later. pacing is difficult, i find I tend to overdo it too soon and collapse back in a heap! Your cough sounds loose and you talked a lot so it’s onwards and upwards! Just bought a copy of the Edward Thomas book, you made it sound wonderful so looking forward to a good read. If you are in your menapause that will make you feel tired, it is me! Hope our 60s are better! xxx Hope you are on the mend now 😊
I’m the same way on the body temp. My average is about 97F instead of the normal 98.7. If I’m at “normal”, I’ve got a fever. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Get well soon Vivi. Our surgery in Kent also has an online triage form but they also have the option to phone at 8am. It’s good that there is still the phone in option for those who might struggle with the online form. The phone is also no longer quite so busy. The form is super simple with 3 text boxes where you can answer their 3 straightforward questions which help you explain what you’re needing from the GP. You usually get some sort of response within a couple of hours. It’s a super system.
I'm so sorry Vivi, I remember last time. I know you're an adult but I'm going to say it anyway... take care of yourself =). Prayers going your way. -Sharron from Tennessee.

Hey Vivi. Sorry you are still feeling poorly. A couple of tablespoons of ground (milled) flaxseed per day has been shown to pretty significantly reduce blood pressure. Also some newer information indicates that increasing potassium is potentially more important than reducing salt for lowering blood pressure so maybe is also worth supplementing. I hope you feel better soon and fingers crossed the house sale and purchase goes smoothly.

Please don't push yourself at present. Your cough is a real bark sweetie - sounds like a bad chest infection. You shouldn't have to diagnose yourself (even though you can☺️). Wish I could assist... Australia is a long way away to pop over, but I would if I could...I am sure many of us would.
Love and better wishes
Mari-Anne xx
Aww, thank you lovely.
Oh how awful for your poor neighbour. Ach, yes, services are so stretched. 😢
This is why hospitals get overwhelmed.
Our surgery is just the same, any excuse to send you elsewhere.
Then when you do end up in hospital due to lack of prompt primary care..... Well you know don't you😅
Anyway, get well soon Vivi🤗💜
Ach, yes! Thank you lovely.
Hope you're feeling better today dear Vivi. 😘
Thank you lovely....a little improvement. 😊

Hi Vivi !
Just checking in today, Saturday, ( 11:30 AM here ) to see how you are feeling ! Had been thinking of you !
Love,
Marilyn ❤xx
Awww, thank you lovely. Still feeling pretty rough so am taking things very slowly and quietly. Thank you for asking. X
I’m sorry. 😔🤧💐💐xx
I hope you feel better soon Vivi. One good thing about recently turning 60 in England is that I now get free prescriptions and a free eye test. There are some benefits to getting older. 😁
Yay! 😊
Hope you feel better soon. Warm thoughts being sent your way. Terry Ont. Can.
Hi Vivi. I hope the chat did you good. Sending hugs!
🤗🤗🤗
It did! Thank you for hanging out with me. 😊
Feel better soon.
I use an app to log my food and it displays my salt intake too , it has really been helpful x free to use for this function
Great idea!
There not just for kids spacers, I have to use one for my night inhalor.
I hope you're on the mend soon,Sweet Vivi❤
Get well soon Vivi.. 🌻🍀🦔
Hope you’re feeling better soon Vivi 🥰 I’m looking forward to the decluttering videos you have planned… once you’re up to filming them of course 😊
Thank you lovely. 😊
Healing thoughts for you from Kentucky ❤😊
So sorry to hear you are feeling so rough! I’m glad you are better than were but you must have been awful before.
Thank you lovely.
Aww, thank you lovely. 😊
I'm the same age as you Vivi & I've noticed it takes much longer to get over things so I will try & cut my sugar consumption, I don't have it in drinks but I like a biscuit so I will cut it down as I need to lose some weight now Thanks for spurring me on xx
Yay, good on you lovely. 😊
Thank you lovely. My fab neighbour downstairs has been messaging me each day to check if I need anything. 😊
Please take care of yourself and rest up.
Get well soon so you can get back to the excitement of the move.
Hope our 60s are better! xxx Hope you are on the mend now 😊
Here's hoping! I'm so glad you got a copy of the book......have a hankie ready...some parts are so beautiful they'll move you to tears. X
@ wonderful, I read a bit of the introduction, about him following a stream or a line of a landscape, so it’s artists magic already!
I’m the same way on the body temp. My average is about 97F instead of the normal 98.7. If I’m at “normal”, I’ve got a fever. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Thank you lovely.
That sounds like a good system. 😊
Hope you get to feeling better soon
Get well soon Vivi 🤧😷🤒 bless you 🤗.
