What would be awesome if you get a hold of Sega and talk them into making the Dreamcast 2
I got Amazon fire 10 11 gen telescope pad play all up to dreamcast at full no liy bro I love it I made it added games emulators films hd feals grat to have what you want with dreamcast and psx
Would love to see another video like this covering the new Raspberry Pi 5 showing it's capabilities and demonstrating the more advanced systems that it can run well.
ill tell you bossman, years ago you dropped a vid on the arcade-box and a how to vid to work it and as soon as you dropped the vid i ordered 1 and still love it heck i dont know if you know him but DJ. SLOPES yeah he's my bud i even sent him 1 and he loves it, so you can tell im going to jump on this build asap.been a big fan for years boss thank you for everything.
A return to form. You have been missed over at Arcade Punks my guy. Great work and video!
Arcade Punks is the best!
@@Soccer5se I really need to start hanging out there.
Love Arcade Punks!
Arcade Punks is a lifesaver 😊
Haha, i still use the library out of the MLP HD dump on Arcade Punks from forever ago.
Raspberry Pi 3 was my first foray into emulation. This takes me back, man.
This is it 👍👍
Glad you’re back to builds and pi stuff, it’s what got me following in the first place. 😊
I do love the variety nowadays, but I also joined back when Pi build videos were the trend for the channel
I got full infected by channels like this one and started building my own images. I learned a lot about RetroPie, Batocera and Recalbox. The Pi's prices have dropped again after the crisis and I hope and wish that the 'age of image building' for the Raspberry Pi will start into a second renaissance - even with good broadcasting on the good old channels.
These are the videos that brought me to your channel many years ago. I still have the “build an arcade” series saved to my favorites. So glad to see more of this again!
This content takes me back! Awesome, quick, and dirty cheap build, perfection!
Your videos are what helped my get my Pi all set up for emulation way back in the day, so nice to see you come back to your roots! I'd do this just for fun if these were as cheap up here in Canadaland, but looks like they go for about 40 bucks for just the board.
Nice. I still have all your old pi images saved on a hard drive. Glad to see you returned to the scene again!
Thanks for all your content! I have been watching you before COVID shutdown when I was looking to get into emulation. Thanks for all your content!
It's nice to see these coming back in stock. Thanks for the link to the kit. I've been looking for this to become reasonably priced for a while now.
I'm stoked you are doing Raspberry Pi content again man. I've been out of the loop myself when it comes to retro gaming Raspberry Pi and was thinking of getting back into it myself. Do me a solid and keep this content going! I'm keen to see your Raapberry Pi 5 build.
So glad to see you getting back to this type of content brother!!
The return of the Mack!
Really cool! Accessing the ROM and BIOS directories with a RetroPi installation is super easy if you just input the IP address of the Pi in the Windows file explorer address bar (after connecting WiFi on the Pi of course).
I avoided setting up my own Pi3B for years, only using pre-built images from Arcade Punks. My options were limited and the few new-ish builds I tried came out non functional for most emulators or else weren't as customizable as I needed. I finally got motivated and it turned out to be tons of fun with some simple guides on UA-cam. I even managed to transfer games, videos, and scrapes from another image.
Great to see content like this. Keep it coming!
Love the old style content with the Pi. Need to post a few of these videos here and there going forward.
This looks like a fun little project. Bought the kit and hub, I have the rest. Will probably put together this weekend, with more of a focus on home computers of the 80s and 90s.
I remember you doing a ton of content on builds, front ends, and CHD's ... Yea, we gotta go back to the hood sometimes @MadLittlePixel
Awesome, thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Good to see you back, Ron. I got into emulation with the Pi 3B.
Informative and entertaining, thanks!
As someone who is on your facebook page and watch everything you do here, I would welcome more content on making pi stuff, thank you as you've inspired me to do this myself.
I'd love to see a full tutorial for this! :O like, a whole case for it, 2 controller compatibility etc. You got me hella inspired to make one of these for my mom and for myself lol but I dunno where to start.
I did get a Raspberry Pi Zero that I never did anything with, but knowing this new one makes me want to do something with it. I’ve never used RetroPie before, but I really want to work on this project!
What originally bought me to your channel many years ago, & stayed for the good times 🙌
The price of the kit suggested is great since it includes the board with everything you need to build it right from the box. It saves you the time and effort of having to look for each item. Amazing stuff man. Thanks!!! 🤗
This is what works. Grateful for your insights Ron. You are doing great things, Learnin us about pi.
This is so dope! make a little 3d printed case to par this with an M.2. Cant wait to see what happens with this
Really enjoyed this, would love to see more
Ron’s back in his element! Time for a new 8TB build!
You doing this as a video is retro in its self. 👾
Fun to see this type of video. I discovered you years ago for a MiSTer tutorial.
The retro gods have summoned me here. Just now discovered your channel. Instant sub!
I've always wanted to get into pis, originally to make a dedicated amiga system, but this looks like a fun project, gonna bookmark this!
You know whats perfect for a dedicated Amiga setup? The Pi400! Kind of looks the part, but if you are not aware a Pi400 is a Raspberry Pi4 built into a keyboard. I think they are kind of cool.
@@Madlittlepixel Yes!!!! I totally agree! I love the look of it too, it would totally make a great amiga system.
Nicely done!
I would absolutely be interested in Pi Zero W content and Pi 5 content.
I started watching your channel because of your tutorials on the Raspberry Pie 3. It's the only one I bought.
I've since move on to Batocera simple because my pc has way Loren power and I have fixed my drives to dual boot.
But I miss your pie days. I have several of your pie builds too.
Love it bro !!
Nice. I've been messing with Pi 5 for the last month, its sooo good.
2:31 Probably the most nostalgic littkle noise I've heard- Reminds me of our first computer- Acorn Electron!
i had to save this vid. with this build you just saved dads across the world lol its small enough to have on a key chain and with the lil 8bit do's perfect to shut my kids up on a trip to familys that still rock vhs/ old as heck lol
Great, now I want to jump back into Zero's, lol. Still have like 5 Zero/W's sitting around. Need to look into Zero 2 W specs. Might snag one to do a nostalgia build. Good to see this again!
THIS IS FANTASTIC.....LOVE IT
Nice made and an collection, Ron! I wanna do myself for games rom i had, but i wanna try from you too, man. 😁👍
Lunar SSS was the reason I bought a Playstation. I loved the original on Sega CD.
The Zero2 is basically a RPi3 in a Zero form factor. For a handheld emulation device it definitely seems to be in the sweet spot between size, performance, and price.
That’s epic! Just sparked a few idea off in my head for uses for it.
First of I’d like to see if I can shoehorn a pi into a portable DVD player to use as a portable console 👍👍👍👍
I love the Zero for its low power consumption and form factor.
Also still have another GPi case and a Zero 2.
That PC tool is new to me and exists for Linux too, so I'll definitely look into it.
Thanks for the inspiration, man.
Does this mean we might see a Swineapple comeback? 😂 I still have my Swineapple t-shirt from when I started whatching your channel. And of course the Phils Doodles comic themes. Awesome!
I was very tempted to film this with the Swineapple theme... I installed it but thought it may be a little obscure lol, a themed made for me with a Pig in a Pineapple? lol.
Sweet build
You know I bet if you made your own builds available to your Patrons it might drive a lot more subs for you. I know a lot of folks share your tastes, and sometimes these builds with entire libraries of games make the builds a little busy at best, unwieldy at worst. Not to mention the larger storage required. Most folks don't really need all that, but they do it anyway, because they just don't want to mess with it.
Oh.. I used to make builds and put them on patreon for first access type of thing... But it caused a bit of drama.. not with the patreons or viewers of my channel.. but it was drama nonetheless and it was annoying lol.
@@Madlittlepixel Ah must have been before I found you. Fair enough.
I've been wanting to make my RP3 a portable beast, but that zero 2 is nice. I could probably run that in an SP shell to be minimal.
Nice to see the roll your own building again. Never understood the 10k game builds. ROM dumps of games most have never played and will never play. Curated setup is the way to go. So many ways for us to play retro games. Bless emulation!
Yeah I found you when I needed to mod the minis. For me, I just use the Deck as it's got enough for what I need. Emudeck made it quick
I forgot about that. I got my Retro Pie and set it up because of you. It’s in a pile of stuff somewhere.
Really great vid! Im having issues trying to get that PI model…
I picked up 2 at Micro Center this last weekend for $15 each. Online Pishop.us and canakit has the boards by themselves for $15 in stock at this moment. Check the official raspberry pi foundation website for other authorized shop links, the authorized shops sell them for retail price.
This was a cool video. I'd like to see more
Good stuff, thanks.
I found your stuff years ago because of your raseberry pi content 😆
This board turned my Freeplay zero into a little beast! I love it!
cool. welcome back. I bought the PI zero 2 w then the cough, cough hit. The PI company dropped its core base. very little was out there for this board.
These menus are amazing
This is sick! Great video dude! 😊
Hey brother Ive been following you since the pi 3. I love the way you explain things. Can you do a video explaining how to set up Neogeo cd on ps classic? using autobleem? I just cant seem to get it past the neogeo cd menu screen.
I got one too.
Raspberry pi's are amazing SBC's !
I seriously need to see about the Pi and see about what all they can do. make me a tiny build small enough to just velcro to the back of a TV or a small tablet with hdmi-in and call it happy!
As long as a remote controller can turn on the console from sleep would be an awesome feature so you never have to turn it off and on manually.. and it can sense when the console is switched off that it can put it into standby mode and the power button from the controller triggers a menu similar to Xbox/PlayStation that puts it into a rest mode/ power off and still wake up via remote.
@@garystinten9339 that would be freaking awesome. sit down on the couch. pick up the controller and turn it on. next thing you know you're off of netflix and onto playing some SNES lol. yeah.. we both need to look into these!
Where can I get the image mad? It’s really clean I want to try it out!
You mentioned MiSTer. I'd love to see you make more MiSTer content, especially with N64 and Saturn cores coming along nicely.
Some for the MiSTer like new core were still in develop. While for myself doesn't need to get MiSTer since i'm from Indonesia shipping problem, but i do rather sticks with mini PC (Ryzen, or bit a cheaper with other AMD chip only) or the cheaper like Raspberry Pi.
I got a Pi Zero W years ago with the intention of making a Pi Cart, an NES inside an NES cartridge. Sadly the controllers I bought didn't work with it and I never got around to finishing the project.
Have you ever tried using a Pi to run PS2 games over the ethernet of a PS2 Slim? I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with a small board like that 🤔
What theme is that?
Nice video
So cool. TY MLP. I am grateful. o7
Wish it came with a micro sd card for 40 bucks its not bad
you can get 128gb ones these days from good brands for like $12
Shout out to Phil’s Doodles! Cool to see a pi video on the channel again.
This looks so cool but as a guy who has never tried this where is the board and the case that u have available? That metal keychain case looks awesome.
I think Raspberry Pi Imager also has the RetroPie installation directly from the app, no need to pre-download, at least it did a year ago when I build my tabletop
Totally forgot about that theme too, awesome!! How about batocera? 🤔🤓
This is so cool! Would be nice to put it inside some kind of portable casing to take around with you without breaking the bank. Otherwise you could just get a Data Frog SF2000 for about $17.
Great video... just like the ones that got me into your videos at the beginning! I'm looking forward to more of this stuff instead of cheap Chinese junk reviews.
I don't know what it is but in my experience I had less luck with the standard RetroPie OS. To be fair I didn't give it much of a chance either because I wasn't a fan of the layout and being dumped into a TUI with tiny unreadable text on a 65" TV. If I really wanted to I could probably get it working though.
I tried out RecalBox and Batocera on my Pi 4 and both are amazing... I honestly can't tell which one I prefer. Lakka... not so much, I wasn't a fan of that one.
Nice video, recommend this over those emulation devices.
This is amazing. Thank you now i got a project 😊. What raspberry pie board u recommend that can go up to n64. I used to have a n64 and love it. Specially the wwf and star wars games.
N64 either the Pi4 or Pi5, currently no retropie for pi5 though, so youd have to use a different front end.
What's that theme? Is that theme part of Skraper or is their a different name for it? I love it. The Neo Geo image looks rad.
I tried to build 1 myself especially for Daphne but never can get it working
Where did you get that theme set for Emulation station ?
Hey MLP! Please do a follow up! I want to learn how to do this. I'm not that smart, but have a basic tech background.
Pepsiman... a man of good... taste I see. I really want this sub 1ms processing that some of these Arduino boards are accomplishing to hit a rasp pi or retropie compatible all in one board. I absolutely love the MiSTer FPGA, but I want people to be able to experience the world of retro gaming on the cheap with low input lag. We'll eventually reach something sub $100 which is close to perfect.
Yes, please. I wat to learn how to lock the settings and give it to my nephews.
Is retropu available on pc as a frontend or is it strictly a pi image?
The bad thing about rpi is that they costs 3-4 times here (45 to 60 dollar)
I love the PI family
Can you do a build on the PI 3?
Do more raspberry pi videos
15 bucks man, that's pretty damn cheap for that setup
Shout out Phil Doodles with the best themes
Are any of the Retro Pi's out there powerful enough to emulate PS2 or GameCube? I've mainly been using Retroarch on an android tv box and thinking about switching over.
A Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 would be powerful enough to do PS2 and Gamecube.
Keep an eye on the Pi5. GCube and PS2 are not very good on the Pi4. I wouldn't recommend emulation on all older Raspberries.
I wish there was a way to play all these retro goodies on a handheld... Hang on the postman is at the door.... shiiiiiiiiiii its that 54th anbernic device that i ordered.
Roll on next week and the 55th....
Love some Raspberry Pi!
I have the biggest of problems finding USB hubs that will work with the orig. Pi Zero (you know: the one without WiFi). Some work, some don't. And the Zero has only one micro-USB port left after you connect the power USB cable. What's your experience w/ various hubs and the Zero?
I'd love to see a follow along video. I think it would be fun to build a cheap and simple emulation station for shits and giggles
I have a dumb question. Would you be able to do this with a strong tablet?
How did you add the theme?
I feel there would be value in a page where you can list the important consoles to you for emulation, and then see what options exist that run these either flawlessly or adequately, with access to deeper data should it be desired. The emulation scene is big enough that some compilation of options might make it easier for new people to jump in and not make costly mistakes before they know better. Does that exist?
Wow... I just tinkered again with my raspberries after few years and thus comes... I have all up to pi400... I must get one of these and check it out
