For HTV, Siser EasyWeed is the best. I also feel like for applying purposes it’s a hell of a lot easier and forgiving when trying to adjust for any wrinkles. Also works great and adjust easy with heat safe tape.
I am so glad Tanner, that you mentioned the weed issue with CSV. I found it to be garbage. The HTV in it, I find unless it is almost cold, the vinyl will lift off instead of sticking to the garment. The CSV in permanent I find doesn't stick as well. I tried strong grip, light grip and it didn't stay stuck to my item, kept coming off with the transfer tape. I love oracle vinyl and Siser.
Yes I have fallen in love with using Siser Easyweed HTV for fabric, stuffed animals, and wood, and I’ve only had my Cricut Explore Air 2 since Christmas (first cutting machine I have owned)! I just ran into my first issue with using Siser Easyweed Ecostretch HTV for the groom and groomsman wedding party dress socks. They were a 4 pack of black dress socks that I was adding a split tuxedo svg with the words “GROOM,” “BEST MAN,” and GROOMSMAN in the split area, and I used a Dafont all-caps font (forget the name). But when I cut the vinyl I used HTV+ (since the regular vinyl settings just pulled up the little capital letters, and used my Cricut EasyPress Mini, it seemed to make shiny marks on the cuff around the vinyl. I only did 10 seconds on low setting, and they look messy near the Siser Ecostretch in White (used Stretch since they are socks and will be above ankles around calf). Any help on types of socks fabric and/or vinyl that will work, I would greatly appreciate it (my Dad’s wedding is 08/27/23). Thanks!!!
I had to seal wood fo vinyl to stick....got that advice from another crafter..i am very new to cricut, just got a new laptop ..my android tablet wasn't giving many DS options...glad for your videos that explain why something is not working & how to get it to work..
I cant believe the price difference of smart vinyl and siser! Never thought about weeding small delicate letters on htv and how versatile htv is. I definitely have to give this a try! Thanks for these vinyl tips. 🥰
This video is what I was looking for. I couldn't find the colors I wanted in regular vinyl but it was available in HTV but I was hesitant to purchase it. I want to use these as window decals though so not sure how well this would work. Maybe with a hair dryer or heat gun? Thank you so much for the Smart Vinyl info, that will save me some headaches. Your tips and tricks and hacks are THE BEST! Thank you!
I have made 5 purchases on Temu since April 2023, and everything has been great! I bought a fedora for $3.57, and it is surprisingly very nice quality given the price. Three friends have since asked me to order them the same hat and they all love them!
My Maker is the original, so I can't use smart material with it. I do have a Joy, though and agree it's tough to weed. It's also hard to use the scraps on a mat. I need to remember to use HTV for small letters. I always have trouble with that. Thank you!
I'm needing small letters on ABS Board. The ABS Board accepts the htv but warps with heat. Can I use htv on permanent vinyl and if so at what temperature and time?
Wish I could afford it!! I've had my cricut for years and I still have never done a multiple color htv image pr layer vinyl. I've made and sold enough stuff that machine has paid for its self. I don't have the confidence to do anything more than 1 color. This is why I want a sublimation printer!!
Great review Tanner!!! I’m not a cricut owner yet but I joined this group few months ago and I’m getting so so so many ideas and information. At the moment when I got started I COULD NOT DECIDE ON CRICUT OR SILHOUETTE,,, ENDED UP GOING WITH SUBLIMATION!! I haven’t had the money to purchase a machine yet I’m still catching up on paying for my sublimation. Soooooo anyone reading this can you give your personal opinions on cricut, silhouette and now Ive also been given the option of a brothers scan and cut!!! Help I’M GOING CRAZY
Something I had to consider when I was doing my research was which was gonna work better for the computer that I use. Silhouette’s program runs better on a pc. Cricut’s program runs better on a Mac. They both work on either, though. So don’t let that make the decision for you. Just thought I’d give you something to add to the pro/con list
@@rhondarhodes1586 Hello Rhonda! I have the Cricut Explore Air 2 and I love it! I use it with my HP laptop. FYI, Cricut Design Space DOES NOT work with Chromebooks 😒😒
I have the Cricut Maker. I use it to design my projects but I use the snipping tool to save it to my computer for sublimation. As for sublimation, I bought an inexpensive Epson Echo Printer and converted it with sublimation ink.
There isn’t a Cricut product (other than the machine itself), that I like. They have priced their self out to the point that everyone who has been looking for cheaper way to craft with their Cricut.
that was great, thanks. But now I have already a lot of great holographic and other colors of adhesive vinyl. I am a subscriber of makers gonna learn but I do need some guidance on how to use adhesive vinyl. Can I use it on shirts or garments or in mugs that are dishwasher-safe? I really would love some advice to how to take most of my membership because I almost never use it
If you use the HTV for small letters. Do you need to heat activate it on the object (e.g bauble) that you put it on? Thanks in advance

I asked recently in my group, if I could HTV on acrylic, I thought it would melt the acrylic? how would I use it on something like this please

You're welcome!
I found that I have trouble with smart vinyl not sticking to any transfer tape. Grrrrrrr

Thank you so much and I very much enjoy this delivery of information like it was a few years ago, where everything is not a question. ❤❤❤
So glad you enjoyed it!
Helpful tutorial. What do you recommend for labelling smooth plastic containers? Thanks!

HIGHLY recommend taking the program. I have done more with my cricut in the last 4 weeks than the entire 1 1/2 years I have had it!
Yay!!!

@@amyeethomas2495 I hope you can afford it soon. I understand! They have monthly memberships (I think...). It is worth every penny!
Huge game changer on the HTV. I'm going to try that. I have several rolls, but they had been grabbed by accident!!
I much prefer cricut htv over siser.
The quality once applied to fabric is excellent, siser htv is very stiff and thicker.

What's the best brand for vinyl( not heat transfer)?
Oracal, craftables, FDC.
However, I saw a video were the Cricut brand totally beat Oracal in the dishwasher test.

Glad you think so!

I never use a dishwasher for anything hand made.
The point here is not the dishwasher safe, it’s just one of the questions
Finally!! Some one speaks the truth! That smart vinyl is the worst!!!!
Thanks MGL for another great video😊
Of course!
Have the new maker 3 any tips
Smart vinyl is usually on sale somewhere, $17.99 to $26.99 right now. However that is still a ridiculous price
Can you do a.m. untold truth between cricut, silhouette and the scan and cut machines!!! I REALLY NEED HELP
$43 😮for 9 feet that’s ridiculous
I have used HTV for card making and wood. It is definitely easier to weed!
Yes. I used Iron htv.
I also use Cricut heat press.
My Maker 3 will not recognize the 12 x 24 mat. This is very frustrating and would not recommend it.
❤ Thank you for sharing
Of course!
And the price is very expensive.
😊good morning
Hello friend!
