The album has only been out three days and I think it might be an AOTY contender for me. I love how carefree, confident, and bizarre it sounds. Peggy & Danny are two of my favorite rappers so it's a blast to hear them collaborate like this.
3rd or 4th time I've watched this video. The 1st time I also had my friend messaging me, "have you heard scaring the hoes?" I think I'm never going to forget where I was when I first heard this album. Definitely AOTY contender, album preordered.

This is how every album reaction needs to be. Not a wasted moment, just the drops and parts everyone is excited to see, while also getting your thoughts in. This is the only channel I don’t skip around in reactions.
I was never a fan of Peggys music and only listened to it cause I love Danny and man, this completely blew me away. You saying ”oddly listenable” is best way of putting it because this should not be something you can just keep bumping all day but I just cannot stop since it dropped lol
Same I have always been a fan of Peggy but I listen to this album for Danny. When I heard the first track I was worried that he would be playing second fiddle and he was on some songs, but I was extremely happy to hear his performances being some of the best on the record probably his third best album
UGLY is one of the best albums that I've ever heard. I'm working on a track by track review for ir now, but I interrupted work on it and did a quick review for Scaring the Hoes right away, because its so dynamic as well. I give the edge to UGLY only because it has a little more gravity and meaning to it, but Scaring the Hoes is exactly what it wants to be and I anticipate that I'll be listening to both for some time to come. Also check out the new Gorillaz album, "Cracker Island" as well. It came out a week before UGLY and is a gem as well, proving your point about 2023 being a great year for music so far!
Imo this is almost just as good as Peggy and Danny’s best solo albums (LP, Atrocity Exhibition). Truly incredible. Peggy went insanely hard on the production and Danny is proving why he’s one of the GOATs. Those flows were insane.
Honest this album gave me the same feeling when I heard Madvillainy for the first time. I was confused but intrigued. The more and more you listen it just hooks you and never let’s go.
this album is already amazing and i think it’ll only age better as more music comes out like that. the mixing is a stylistic choice and i don’t think people will understand until it becomes more common.
I don't mind lo-fi mixing, but it is a detriment when you literally can't understand what an artist is saying. Some Rap Songs was lofi but I could understand everything Earl was saying.
@@shaanraval5374 the only song i think you can make this argument for on this album is danny brown on run the jewels. i can hear what they are saying perfectly fine.
Lol, I feel that "RESIDENT EVIL 4 and this album n one day" statement 💯 I'm still struggling to play RE4 because this is playing in my head over and over. 😅 what time to be alive 🎉
I know you listened to swimming but I think it’d be a cool video if you reacted to the three songs Mac Miller released before swimming “buttons” “programs” “small worlds”
Hi John! Long time watcher first time commenter. I think you should do the latest navy blue album. He’s got the kind of flow that touches your soul. I think you’ll love it. It’s called ways of knowing.
Just saying Jon more rap reaction please you’ve always done everything but as a fan when u started on mostly rap and are now putting out a lot of reactions that someone following you has to look at the witness protections list to find out who some of these artists are dosent make me really want to keep on checking in on your channel to see if you’ve even put anything up because when new rap albums drop i don’t know if your gonna react to that or a guy named 74skyVapez new austrian jazz album that’s really spoken to you like there’s no consistency 🤷🤷👍🏻👍🏻

The first track alone could single-hendedly kill a pilgrim
This comment hilarious
Best comment I’ve read in awhile
Lmao
That fist track would smother them with blankets.
Incredible comment
Some of this feels like JPEG was like "Danny I bet you can't rap on this" and Danny was like "bet"
Danny's finding those pockets like a purse snatcher
Absolutely unreal chemistry. Peggy most deranged sampling ever, and the visceral energy is so potent. PEGGY DOES IT AGAIN!!
2:12 the only appropriate way to react when hearing that beat drop, still gets me on the 40th listen
It’s just so fucking DIRTY like holy shit Peggy doesn’t fuckin miss on production, man is in his prime.

Agreed. Love the hell out of both of them and I was insanely hyped for this album. One of the rare times where it not only meets but exceeds the hype.
yeah its between this and Lets start here for me as AOTY contenders imho

This album is S Tier and AOTY so far, but underrated shoutout to God Loves You. That dance sample is STUPID GOOD
YESSSSS omg It's my favorite track. that sample and the execution just blowed my mind
I was stunned. Couldn’t move when on a walk for my first listen. When Danny does his signature “CHECK!” I literally couldn’t. Too fire.
the distortion is sex
This and UGLY are my two favorite albums in recent memory. 2023 is seemingly a great year for music already.

I had never listened to either artist before, but I was stunned by this project. Flat out sounds so good and satisfying to listen to.
niggas just smokin crack i guess
I don't care what anyone says about the mixing the albums incredible
The mixing actually lends a twisted charm to the songs imo. It reminds me of a lot of post punk and lo-fi albums I love.
@@mocapcow2933 Dat classic SP-404
This feels very similar to when Run the Jewels 1 came out. I hope they continue to make this a series

THEY SHOULD PUT ME IN THE PSYCH WARD FOR WHAT I DO WITH VOCAL CORDS! 🗣🗣
I’m here far too late but hopefully with time you’d agree it’s better. Their chemistry is crazy

This production just melts my brain 😭
The beat on Garbage Pale Kids literally FUCKS me up everytime. So nasty.
God Loves You is an absolute banger 😩
Idk how they got an MJ sample on Orange Juice Jones. Either they are some of the luckiest artists ever, or they just put that in without approval 💀
peggy did NOT get that shit cleared
@@obamanewsnetwork914 Uh Oh, he bold for that lol
Me listening to every track on the album: this one slaps as well
God Loves You made me get up and start slapping everything
you can tell that peggy was never taught how to dissapoint, and decided to become the best producer of all time, truly inspirational
😂😂😂😂😂
This album recieved the first TWO SIMULTANEOUS SUNGLASSES ON AT THE SAME TIME REVIEW from the esteemed Jon Denton! A must-buy!

AOTY BY FAR.......Danny and Peg...snapped....the beats are industrial and 🔥🔥🔥
This! and Ugly by Slowthai easily the two best albums of the year so far.
I know I've added the right songs to my playlist when you put the shades on!
Peggy and Danny is a collaboration I didn’t think we needed but I am glad that we got it.
I love that without fail, Danny starts rapping and Jon pulls out the strap
This album sounds like a f‘d up 80‘s gangster movie directed by monthy python and it’s freaking awesome
This is honestly my dream album/mixtape. I’ve been a huge Danny Brown fan forever and just recently got deep into JPEG. Perfect timing.
this might just be my favorite album ever its so fucking good all around
