Production at amazing?? Nah that's ridiculous. Easily perfect. Nothing sounds like this album. Even Peggy's other projects sound nothing like this. Every single song was ear grabbing from beginning to end and the samples used are mind-blowing. Peggy is the best in the game right now.
lyrical miracles feeling spiritual are about to raid this comment with “but.. but the mixing🤓🤓”
@@fednanders4572 ya the go to tactic for these weirdos online when they want to complain about an album that is critically acclaimed is to complain about mixing. People try to do the same with MBDTF of all things.
The only song I feel this doesn’t apply to is OJJ
I still gave this shit a 10/10 though - most fun I’ve ever had listening to an album.
If you’re a fan of Charles Hamilton, you know Peggy was heavily influenced by him on the production.
If I violently shit into a microphone nothing will sound like that, doesnt mean its good. amazing is a fair rating
I cant get enough of this album. its intoxicating, baffling, bizarre and raw at the same time. This album is pure rap and somehow transcends rap at the same time. Peggy truly did something completely game changing with the production. And both of them are spitting on an elite level. Kinda already feels like a genre defining moment already
I’m trying to get into it but idk if I like it am I missing something
Wow I agree 100% with everything you said about this album this may end up as my 1 hip hop AOTY!!!
Burfict changed my life
THE HORNS!!!!
Sounds like they’re trying to make a sunday night football theme song
okay okay i see whatchu doin
Antonio Brown in 2016:
Same
we do have to acknowledge the sample flip peggy did for kingdom hearts key. it was insane.
shii was blissful
Bro this album feels like he went back in time to pull this out the vault. 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾🤣
that was so fucking beautiful.
Instant classic. we have been blessed 🙏
JPEG is a Kanye/Kendrick level talent, GOAT status
yes
Peggy fans can get away with so much like what is this ☠️
fantano was right
Idk abt Kanye and Kendrick talent but he is fs a very talented artist
people forgettin about all of kanye's mid songs
10/10 album for me, will definitely be an AOTY contender. It was perfect.
i feel like 10/10 is a bit generous but aoty contender fs
9/10 for me
Mixing was too terrible to be even an 8/10
@@RB-.- 🤓Ohh... the mixing 🤓🤓
@@Dr.Krabs1 So you just accept lesser quality production? lol. it’s not a nit pick, if it sounds shitty. people are gonna point it out.
I know a lot of people will complain about mixing, but I see their vocals as something lost in the chaos. I like them being apart of the noise rather than the main focus of the album
A part*
Aint trying to be grammar nazi but that's the correct way, apart is different meaning
@@masdalon I promise you nobody cares
If any other artist dropped an album with this mixing people would be shitting on it like crazy, people are only giving it a pass because it’s JPEGMAFIA. I’m not a dickrider so if a mix is shit I’m gonna say a mix is shit
@@masdalon “I’m not trying to do this, but I’m going to do this”
@@masdalon no its cool i wasnt sure which one thanks
God Loves You's beat is legendary already
So glad y’all understood the mixing choices, excellent take
I’m so happy jpeg and Danny lived up to the hype
yuppppppp! its really good.
It more than lived up, shit was perfection.
Bro this album feels like he went back in time to pull this out the vault. 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾🤣
muddy waters so underrated, that beat switch goes so hard
Great review guys. Garbage Pale Kids is my favorite track as well, that sample simply fucked up my mind, I can't stop listening to it.
A great album jpegmafifa always knows how to spice it up
Don’t forget about Danny Brown!
The album cover is like a 70s blaxploitation flick poster! some great creative choice there!
I've never heard of any JPEGMAFIA songs before but I knew his name as a producer. Spotify randomly recommended me this album today and since I've been seeing posts about its release on Twitter I attempted to give it a listen...Holy fuck, this sounds so fresh! It's so refreshing and exciting and addicting and fun to listen to and badass and all around great. Big variety of sounds, crazy samples everything is here! I can easily see myself listening to this for many months without ever getting bored!
do a deep dive of the discog dude, best in the game rn
@@mr.brando7221 I didn't do a deep dive on Peggy yet but I started digging Danny's stuff. I've listened to Atrocity Exhibition and goddamn is it a crazy album! I'll definitely check some Peggy stuff when I feel like it later on!
@junba1810 how's that been going?
@@stwish3910 If you are talking about exploring more Peggy stuff then I have little to tell. I've heard some other songs he has and I liked them a lot. But I haven't really heard an entire album yet. Not specifically from Peggy but in general I've been in the mood of just listening to my liked songs for the past few months so even if I discover some new music I'm not listening to a whole album. What about you? Have you heard more from JPEGMAFIA apart from Scaring the Hoes?
I actually like how the somewhat muddy mixes add cohesion throughout the album, and they aren’t even a concern for me outside of maybe the first and last track. The sheer creativity on display is what’s gonna bring me back
super unique, and creative album i knew danny and jpeg would deliver would love to see more collab with them!
Lu saying "Steppa Pig" is giving me life
The second I saw that a track was called “Jack Harlow Combo Meal” I knew it would be a classic
I was bumping this in the whip and felt ashamed and embarrassed at red lights. 10/10
9/10 - 10/10 for me, absolutely Jaw-dropping and intoxicating. Cryptic production that sounds incredible and one of the greatest collaboration albums of all time.
Someone said Burfict was family ties for people who don’t go outside 💀
Real
Absolutely love this album. Legitimately torn between this and Lets Start Here as my AOTY so far. I love both albums so much for very different reasons. Peggy never misses and neither does Danny, so I had high expectations for this album and it still blew my expectations away.
“One of the most unique sounding albums that we’ve had in a long time, very unpredictable” the crazy thing is that this quote applies to every single JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown album. The only thing predictable about Danny and Peggy is that they’re never predictable.
Lets starts here does have mid songs though, lahai was my sort,it was very brautifuk
I'm now really curious as to which direction both Peggy and Danny will be taking with their other 2 albums releasing this year
The production on Fentanyl Tester though is just perfect, love imagining how Kelis will react 😂
Ay this review was very succinct and congruent with my thoughts as well (I listened to the full album leak that dropped on UA-cam a day before it actually dropped). Y’all gotta do more album reviews bc you giving Fantano and Professor Skye a run for their money!!
They are friends with Fantano.
@@turboshazed7370 Yes, that much was already abundantly obvious. I merely stated that their review style rivals the two aforementioned channels.
This is NOT a botted message. (Realizing this is actually kinda long.) It just means a lot to me. Whoever is reading DONT give up on your dreams. Whatever they are. Think about all the hard work that you have already put in. Everyone who started at what you want to do was once in your spot they just kept going. Stay consistent and you will reach your goals. Consistency and improvement and some grit is all you need! I myself am going for 1000 subs and over 10,000 views on all my music by the end of this year. But it’s not something that can be done by laying in my bed all day watching tik tok and procrastinating. Make sure y’all get to work. 🧡
Genuinely fantastic album with some really creative and unique attributes!
Jeremy W’s ReevW
Hi Jeremy
I was blown away from this album, this is what music is all about. Thank you and carry the hell on.
Bro this album feels like they went back in time to pull this out the vault. 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾🤣
It’s an insane album and I don’t think the mixings a turn off
@@crunchysoupp yea that’s true
when the production is over the charts, the performances is amazing and this being a first collab album from peggy it doesn't get even better.
still thinking if they can work the mix again and update it to the stream platforms
Great, unique record great to see more jpeg content
HOW IS THE PRODUCTION NOT PERCECT - literally not a single flaw the entire album.
great review i honestly think id bump content to amazing too. for what they were going for - hilarious references and wordplay - it was executed amazingly if not perfectly. one of the only albums that is actually funny and purposefully so. shoutout nfr you guys broke it down so well as always. NFR4L
I love the contrast between peggy’s clear, afloat and energetic rapping performances and danny’s more laid back performances( feels like the guy is literally swimming in the production sometimes😂). Each one bringing something different to a “collaboration” as it should.
Such a good album and so addictive it’s hard to stop listening - aoty for me so far
Probably in JPEG's top 3 already for me. Amazing songwriting within all the chaos, beautiful production that's both inventive and wild yet super groovy and colorful and never stops bringing the energy and hunger from both rappers. The one drawback I found so far was there wasn't as much singing as I wished there would be and so it did get a little monotone to hear this endless flow of rants thrown at you from every direction by the last couple of tracks. Other than that it's easily the best album I've heard this year so far (including different genres). A strong 8/10 for me.
What’s the next one I should listen to this was the first one that I did
Love this project front to back! I see this already as AOTY it gets better and better each listen. Unfortunately I don't see this album getting ANY love from the grammys but we all know how the public feels about the Grammys lol
This review was really good guys, nice work! I loved the album aswell, easily best of the year so far.
ayo i wanted this!!!
Straight up No skips , album is incredible
Absolutely my favorite album of the whole year.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good takes fellas.
yo the Vodaphone jacket is heat
Was blown away when I heard the Escaflowne OP on “Kingdom Hearts Key”.
There should be some more perfect ratings on here
9/10 amazing
hip hop needed this album
This album is definitely top 5 of the year for me. Definitely on replay and will be in my timeless playlist collection.
i listened to god loves you and i’m a new man now
its so funny, you guys talk about music like sports journalists
This was my album of the year quarantra is fire as well
Production perfect so sorry to let you know
We need kendrick on a jpegmafia beat!!!
Could you guys do a Mac Miller discography ranking?
peggy showing off with the production work on this got damn
I’m telling y’all, u have to post clips of ur reaction on UA-cam. Those videos do well for other channels.
Fr, probably one of the only reasons I don’t watch this channel as much
This would be so so good
They really pathed the way with the eclectic sound scape revolutionizing the 2020 era.
The vocal mixing took away from what made me love Danny Brown so much in the first place.
this album is amazing, my aoty so far
3:40 yeah I'd also really love to see some more rappers on top of JPEG production (also, JPEG made some beats for the Danny album uknowwhatimsayin?)
10/10 album
Production is perfect.
Strong 9 outta 10 for me, favourite album of the year so far after This is why by Paramore
just sayin - Pusha T dropped 'IaD' last year about a week or two before this dropped this yr and it was immedietly my top AOTY pick and even back in early April (or late march in this case) it held off Black Thought, JID, Nas, and Kendrick (barely) to hold the spot - also LP! was my #3 album for 2021 with Hazard Duty Pay as my song of the year just above MAVI's 'Miracle Baby' and Earls 'Titanic') so i wont be shocked if it can old the spot another 8+ months for AOTY (also last year was the best year for high end rap albums in maybe my lifetime of bein a true fan (2000-2023)
Have you guys thought about adding some quiet music in the background of your podcasts and audio based stuff like this?
Burfict on repeat 🔥🔥🔥
THIS ALBUM WENT INSANE
personally this album was amazing. however after more and more listens i am inching to the perfect rating. this is a masterpiece
When the review of Surf Or Drown?
Wow you finally reviewing Peggy
Album of the year, production deserved a perfect rating
AOTY🎉

Orange juice jones is what heaven sounds like
this #2 album of year for me. Lets start here still #1 for me still cuz that shits modern day Pink Floyd. This album is def a close 2nd
That jacket is INSANE
Only one song was kinda iffy for me (I think it was orange juice jones but it was still decent). Burfict, Kingdom Hearts Key, Garbage Pale Kids, Fentanyl Tester, Jack Harlow Combo Meal... Holy shit. Fantastic and so fun to listen to. 9/10
I really just can't see another album being better than this all year, what a mind blowing album. Just incredible
let’s start here is slightly better imo
Wayne and Cole supposed to drop too

Jpegmafia discography ranked:
1. Veteran
2. LP/Scaring the Hoes tie
3. AMHAC/Ghost Pop Tape tie
4. Black Ben Carson
i’d argue veteran is below lp, sth, amhac, and gpt
Fair enough, everyone got their own preferences, but for me Veteran is one of three albums that I consider to be 10/10
@@dimitrimilas4170 bro we got the same number of 10/10 albums lmaooo
but yeah as you said to each their own, veteran is still a masterpiece, and jpegmafia’s discography in general is unbelievable

def album of the year so far
9/10epic
AOTY so far - it somehow exceeded expectations - no skips, and is better than any single project in either of their cataloges imo (though i gotta relisten a few more times to say its 100% better than LP! Deluxe cuz that albums was great)

Lean Beef Patty samples I Need A Girl Pt 2. It’s not a female vocal.
speaking of other rappers on Jpeg production I'm thinking Billy Woods or Armand Hammer.
Prolly never gonna happen unless the beef got squashed
@@dedrick7949 it did. After jpeg last album they squashed it
@@dedrick7949 I think it did but still not prob gonna happen anytime soon
@@erikhakansson1585 you're right, i haven't been paying super close attention to it but it seems like they squashed it
I feel like Peggy could produce a crazy ass RTJ album
People who are complaining about the vocal mixing do not understand the concept of the vocals being a supporting instrument in the mix rather than a leading one
It sounds like when you play 10 songs at once .. pure noisy garbage of a Fuckin mess
That Vodafone salesman has great views
the production is perfect what are you saying bro
AOTY
is the 2 ish percent bc of redveil?
kingdom hearts key is so good bro
