I own both, and I have to say I actually prefer Celestial. While the original Ganymede’s top notes are truly
Euphoric and totally unique (straight up art, actually), the base notes (which rarely ever gets spoken about) has what some compare to a “body odor” or Cumin spice scent. Someone on Fragrantica even compared it to “a spice market smell”. Celestial on the other hand manages to capture all the good qualities of Ganymede, but somehow stays completely fresh, green and floral and never “spice market”. That to me makes it more wearable and enjoyable. To use our imaginations here - Ganymede smells like a luxury space ship interior, with metal parts and wires and electronics -with a table full of spices, whereas Celestial smells like the same space ship but full of flowers, oranges and tangerines.
Being Indian, i will then avoid Ganymede and stay with celestial😅
You’re the only person I’ve heard say there’s cumin note and I swear I had the same feeling but only in warmer weather. I was upset bc I love Ganymede so much but hadn’t had a chance to wear it in the heat yet and it gets very, VERY hot where I live in the summer. I thought I was the only one who smelled the cumin note.
@@jennrossotti8920 I was even more surprised that in the German community, they say Ganymede smells like "Currywurst". The extrait one smells like Maggi spices to many of them.
I have Celestial and have never smelled Ganymede. However, I suspect that the difference between them (apart from the quality of the ingredients) is due to the fact that Immortelle leaves were used to compose Ganymede, and flowers for Celestial. Helichrysum (Immortelle) leaves have a very characteristic curry scent, while the scent of its flowers is slightly sweet, herbal and honey. For my nose, the most prominent note is saffron, for the first time the way I would like to smell it, and not in the bandage-hospital version of BR540 and its clones. I like it very much.
Mickey, love your honest reviews. I laugh when I see these reviews. I am the same, loving and buying the clones. . Assuming we use 1-1.5ml per wearing, we should just use the originals. However, we try to ‘save’ the originals. We should just wear the shit out of the OGs.

Great comparison video Mikey, and one which I have revisited again with Celestial Emir. I'm personally NOT a fan of Ganymede- I find the immortelle note nauseous. It comes across as a sickening curry smells and once combined with the metallic nuances, it turns my stomach.
So my question is, does the clone eliminate the curry note? I've watched a few other reviewers and they indicate that it replaces the immortelle with citrus (which would be music to my ears). Btw, I do have Bois Imperial, and although similar to Ganymede, I find it much more wearable.
Hello sandy I do pick up abit off that curry vibe very subdued tho. Yeah it’s a little citrusy as well. Bois imperial is a fantastic fragrance 👍🏻 for a fresher scent it has great longevity
@mikeycologne Thanks Mikey. As I already own Bois Imperial, I'm not sure if it's worth picking up. I'm trying to invest in several, higher end fragrances over the next few months, which means discarding a number of clones and new designer releases.

If I'm on a $50 budget for a Ganymede, is this my best clone to get? I am in the camp of VERY UNIQUE/DIFFERENT scents like I've read about the metallic note in Ganymede. Will Celestial have this polarizing metallic uniqueness that Ganymede has??
And for $50 in general, is this one of the most unique frags available? I am a frag collector (120+ bottles) so I like everything under the sun except OVERLY ROSE frags so I have an open mind.
This is definitely super close to ganymede and it’s 💯 worth a pick up and the presentation is nice 👌🏻

Hello :) great video. I was curious if you smell Lattafa Masa, it suposed to be another clone of Ganymede. I am considering of buying a clone of Ganymede, still unsure which one to pick.
I own a 10ml of ganymede, a bottle of celestial and have tried masa. Bolth are close to the og. I mean close. The laid back orange in celestial isn't missing just toned down a touch. Masa to me has a patchouli note that sticks out that I don't get in the og, it's nice I just think it's more of a twist on the og then a carbon copy. Bolth are near the same price, I think celestial is 45 and masa was 49 last time I checked. I ultimately went with celestial because its an extrait de parfum concentration, masa is an edp.Celestial is bolth subtle and strong at the same time. I go nose blind to it ( same with ganymede) but other people can still detect it on me. If possible test bolth first but if that's not possible, celestial is more 1 to 1 and good quality. Masa is smoother, slightly better quality but on my skin more of a twist then a clone

They're not redundant. I own both and prefer Masa. But celestial smells amazing. Masa wins in performance by far. Celestial is a direct clone, but Masa is a better DNA, in my opinion.
I own bois impérial essential parfums would buying this be redundant

Here’s my opinion for I had both. Emir Celestial smells very close but it’s lacking of the “metallic” note. Ganymede still more prominent and bolder not to mention it projects better than Emir Celestial.
