this is so unreal how true this video is!!!!! this just happened to me two weeks ago. (and many, many times over the years) After the removal, I sent the log tally sheet to the homeowner, to show her all the logs only amounted to $62.00. This was because a friend of hers said black walnut was highly valuable. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS!
Every sales person should see this! It is a great example of how sales (people) have to deal with cuss-tomers who are seemingly brought up to be clueless. P.S. A cell phone on her ear at the same time would have been priceless!
The Juglans genus has 21 total species divided into four sections, & they are all identified with specific scientific names such as Juglans ailantifolia aka Japanese Walnut. Outside of those 21 species there's also hybrids where two species have crossed but those too have additional names associated with them such as Bastogne walnut which is a cross between English & Black. Value depends on the quality & your local market. It's worth only as much as what someone else is willing to pay.
I’m in the lumber business. You can sell black walnut 8’ x 16” diameter at $800 a pop all day long. All these tree removal guys on here turning their noses up at customers who know there’s value in that log are either dumb, or just bad businessmen.
@deernutOO If you can't appreciate a little levity sometimes life would get boring. And as for "too much animation" geez fella I don't know what to tell you - how do you take the animation out of an animated video? You're a weird dude deemut.
they will pay IF it is worth their time. one single tree in a suburban yard? no chance. might be nice lumber in it, but suburban trees have a tendency to hide metal, too, that will take out a bandmill blade in short time. some mills wont touch suburban logs.

First find your highest offer....then call ME! I will beat ANY PRICE!!! 😂
Sounds like the people after the Campfire "Everyone is stealing their trees "
Being a tree service owner, I can relate to this conversation. I liked the video.

What is it with people and walnut trees? Somebody hears somewhere about a $15K yard tree and all of a sudden walnut is a goddamn gold rush.

@@gtabanjo8476 Even yard trees?
@@gtabanjo8476 Yeah, if you transport it to the mill you might get that for a pristine log. Most yard trees aren't that though.

If I had a buck for everytime I heard this "Urban Legend" LOL
What, no mention of veneer grade?
Nobody can ever tell you exactly who got that kind of money for a tree. LOL
This is hilarious. 11 years later.....
Did I mention, taxes?

lol, thats awesome
Why don't you register at my site which is called woodbarter and we can help you much easier there.
Because this is only funny if you’re the wife of a climber, faller, and sawyer.
People will pay you for good walnut trees.. especially of you have a woodlot with 30 or more trees. We got 10k this year for 6 trees.

@@tomsteve3804 Yeah, they will pay as little as possible. "But you know what? I will give you some firewood for that nasty old tree."
hahahahaha "highley valuable"
