People that don't respect the Bee Gee's need to check their pulse, they're one of the greatest vocalist and most successful bands in the history of music! The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack didn't sell over 15 million for no reason.
They wrote music for Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, wrote the song Grease for the movie, wrote Islands in the Stream that Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton sang
There is true love out there for you somewhere, don't give up on looking for it. I found mine late in life. Better late than never. (Pray daily, God will answer.)
This was one of their songs Robin was most proud of. They played it at his funeral when they carried the coffin from the horse-drawn hearse into the chapel.
I love to see your facial expressions while you take in the unmatched artistry of the BeeGees. Great music is timeless, it feels/sounds as good in 2020 as it did in 1977. I'm a lifelong(literally) BeeGees fan. It looks like you will also soon be, if you're not already💙💙💙🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚
How is it that I have not heard this in decades, but the moment it starts, i can sing along without missing a beat or skipping a lyric? Its a timeless classic.
James, what you have to realize that, back in the day all we had was music. Cable TV..not around.... Internet...something from a sci-fi magazine, portable phones....only if you were Dick Tracy or on Star Trek. We lived for the music, movies, concerts. That was life to use. Then for someone like you to come along now to appreciate the same thing, that is a great thing! Love the videos, keep up the good work. 70's forever!
In the 70s The Bee Gees were the most famous & dominated the Radio Airwaves. After their famous songs Staying Alive & More than a woman all hell broke loose and people took to the streets ( if you can believe it) burning their Vinyl records of the the Bee Gees. People just got sick of them. Its was terribly sad really. Love the bee gees.
You are really young, darlin'. Trust me, when you find the right partner, you will both love fully, deeply, the same way. Hint from an older lady here married 27 years to her best friend -- fall in love with a best friend who shares your passions. (for us, it was theater and music -- sounds like yours would be music as well.) You just have to put yourself out there where you can connect with them. It's obvious you are a special guy, and a romantic. It will happen for you. Wonderful reaction as always. LOVE the Bee Gees and wouldn't mind watching you discovering more of their music. :)
Margaret, you are absolutely right. My passion is music, so I married a guitar player. We've been together 49 years and we still are crazy about each other, and still talk about music (as well as books and politics). Find a best friend first, then fall in love with them.
They were so talented that they sounded exactly the same live. They didn't need a studio to sound like this. This was their natural talent they didn't even need background music. Their harmonies were enough.
Richard Perrett , I loved the later songs too. Alone and Wedding Day were excellent. I Started A Joke and I Can't See Nobody. The last two were Robin's and he had a magnificent voice too. They write the sweetest, truest love songs. I also love too much and get hurt more than loved. I love The BeeGees. Rest In Peace Sweet Robin and Crazy Mo! Thank you for all you gave us. ❤️🌹❤️
You are so sweet. Any woman would be crazy to walk away from you. If I were 20 years younger -- well, you still wouldn't be interested in my old bones! But seriously, you're a great catch. Very kind young man.
This is the first song me my husband danced to when we were dating 42 years ago. He bought me a picture of this song on it and still have it love it. You to will find that special someone
Isn't discovering new music the best???!!!! You never forget how it first makes you feel hearing it for the first time!!! Never change!!!! We do love you!!!!!!
yes, this song would SEND me when i was only 8 years old in small-town Oklahoma back in '77. my oldest brother had the vinyl and an 8-Track for our family road trips in the Chevrolet Station Wagon . that electric piano at the beginning is the cosmic dance. this was my favourite song on the LP
Their songwriting, harmonies and production are so unique, you can tell immediately that's a Gibb brothers tune, btw you should check out stuff from their brother Andy, "Shadow Dancing " is one of my favorite songs EVER :)
I prefer BeeGee's older stuff. Like "Lonely Days", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", "Nights On Broadway", " Jive Talkin' " Barry Gibb has said more than once how he hates being pigeon-holed as a "Disco Group". They were much more than that.
Difficult to pick some out. My favourites date back to 1967, but much has happened since then both musically and with their family lives...The Bee Gees Story...a subject in its own right!
Their later music is awesome too, after the disco period. The Bee Gees have so much great music starting from the 60s all the way to 2001. Unfortunately the music stopped when Mo passed away, Barry and Rob never could get it together after Mo died .
Oh I grew-up with this music 58 ExSgt.USAF here n how lucky was I + Zepplin!+PINKFLOYD+F-MAC+ EAGLES+RUSH+DEFLEP etc. How SMOOOVVV R The Bee-Gees ?! Fyi believe name stood-for Brothers-Grime (or whtvr their last-name) Gr8Reaction brother.
I Started A Joke, what a song.Heard all of these songs on a BeeGees greatest hits album that belonged to the old man.Preferred it to all this disco shit.
"Nights on Broadway," "Love You Inside Out," "Words," "To Love Somebody," "I Started A Joke," "Fanny," "Run To Me," "Massachusetts," "Love So Right," "Jive Talkin'," "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart,..."
This is one of favorite song out of the 70s from the Bee Gees! I still get chills hearing this song. I was 7 years old when this song came out. I remember my teenage sisters playing this song. My mother was such a fan of the Bee Gees as well. She loved Barry Gibb.
i was 7 or 8 and my oldest brother had this on vinyl and 8-Track. this was probably my favourite song. gives me chills and goose bumps. that electric piano...my eyes roll back. when my brother bought the 45 single andy gibb's "i just want to be your everything" i would sneak in his room and put the turntable on repeat.
You say that this is a song that lifts you up, well I don't believe there is a Bee Gee's song you can pick that doesn't do that. Those beautiful harmonies and perfect lyrics get you every time. That said, I believe their pre-disco era was their finest. Post-disco had some pretty good songs as well.
I was always a rock (classic rock) person and didn't much care for "disco" BUT the BeeGees had many great songs that I liked. This was one along with 'Lonely Days', 'Tragedy', "I started a Joke', ' I've Gotta Get A Message To You', and many more!
Bee Gees were So well rounded. They kept up with the music of their times. Sadly time has only left us to hear only one member, Barry Gibb. Very unique and great songs Not a big disco fan but I do like Staying Alive.
SO happy to see you finally got around to the Bee Gees! The Bee Gees have sold over 120 million albums all over the world. Their total record sales (albums + singles sales) exceed 180 million. The figures would exceed 225 million if solo works and albums written and produced for other artists were added. They wrote ALL thir music. And particularly, will love love love their lyrics!
There are too many people in this world that only show love for themselves or only pretend to show love to another person. Anyone lucky enough to find someone like you to truly give love and want to receive love in return would be one lucky girl! 🤗😍😉
I was only 13 years old when this song came out in 1977..The Bee Gees to me were the best group of the 70's with so many number 1 hits..Take me back and let me relive all the great memories, not like today..
I remember this song.I was 12 years old. This is beautiful.Always loved their music , and always Will , AS long AS i live.BeeGees the best group ever.♥️♥️
Love the Bee Gees they put out so many great songs... I get so tired of people saying shit like disco sucks.... the disco era was great with great talent...♡
This is great. Thank you! I enjoy watching your videos very much. There's a tender love song that makes me think of you and your authenticity. It's called "How Can I Tell You" by Cat Stevens. His performance is the real deal. Keep up the jammin'!
Always have loved the Brothers Gibb...a sad history is their legacy, beyond being incredibly talented and providing some outstanding, touching music, over and over and over!!! They were topping the charts during my first serious love, in high school, always very fond memories!!!
50 million not 15 Barry said it was selling a million a week for near a year
it sold 40 million copies... not 15 million.
You're right. I wore that album out!
One of? They ARE the greatest period.
There is true love out there for you somewhere, don't give up on looking for it. I found mine late in life. Better late than never. (Pray daily, God will answer.)
Thank you for beautifully expressing my thoughts 😊
It's hard to describe how huge the Bee Gees were back in their heyday. They were enormously talented, and I will always love their music.
Why would anyone, dislike the Bee Gees. Oh yes it's real music.
This was one of their songs Robin was most proud of. They played it at his funeral when they carried the coffin from the horse-drawn hearse into the chapel.
The year I was born. Brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of my family and california memories.
I'm a 73' baby and I STILL rock with The Bee Gees!!😊💗👍 STAY BLESSED BROTHA😇
JB....."It's better to be hated for what you are than loved for who you are not." Your Lady will be with you shortly... don't give up.
How is it that I have not heard this in decades, but the moment it starts, i can sing along without missing a beat or skipping a lyric? Its a timeless classic.

One added request, if you like the 70's music....look up music that was the Philly Sound. You will not be dissapointed. Peace, brother.

Oh man........James you are a so empathic human ....you feel the music and sound off the Bee Gees same as I...
many thank ,and good feelings
Helmut
Been missing the old school tunes too, James. I was 18 years old when this song came out...great time, great memories...great reaction. ❤✌
I was 12 or 13. Had my first slow dance to this song. It was summer between 7th and 8th grade. Great music!!!
Your a very genuine, gorgeous guy. You wear your heart on your sleeve, don't change xxxx
Takes me back to good days
You are really young, darlin'. Trust me, when you find the right partner, you will both love fully, deeply, the same way. Never trust another 💍human👰. There's only one person you can rely on to love 💘 you completely, the imaginary guy in the sky🌟.
Beautifully said Margaret!❤ I agree with you! 🙋💯%
love for a friend, sibling... all love...
Margaret, you are absolutely right. My passion is music, so I married a guitar player. We've been together 49 years and we still are crazy about each other, and still talk about music (as well as books and politics). Find a best friend first, then fall in love with them.
In response to your talk of positivity n keepnitreal, that's called EMPATH. Me too. Just good peeps.
They were so talented that they sounded exactly the same live. They didn't need a studio to sound like this. This was their natural talent they didn't even need background music. Their harmonies were enough.
One of the best songs ever!
Can we agree we were blessed with these angelic beings?
I love how caught up in these older songs you get. If you like the Bee Gees, try a later song You Win Again.
Richard Perrett , me , too, so glad he appreciates them like so many of us do.
Richard Perrett , I loved the later songs too. Alone and Wedding Day were excellent. I Started A Joke and I Can't See Nobody. The last two were Robin's and he had a magnificent voice too. Thanks JB... words to live by
I enjoy your honesty - music should raise your spirit. KEEP WORKING AT IT - KEEP THOSE CHILLS HAPPENING!
That deep love will come to you brother. Most likely when you’re not even looking.
One of the greatest love songs. The entire Saturday Night Fever album kicks ass
You are so sweet. Any woman would be crazy to walk away from you. If I were 20 years younger -- well, you still wouldn't be interested in my old bones! But seriously, you're a great catch. Very kind young man.
Thank you Barry, Maurice and Robin for your wonderful music, over all these years... R.I.P. Maurice & Robin..
This is the first song me my husband danced to when we were dating 42 years ago. He bought me a picture of this song on it and still have it love it. You to will find that special someone
You got love back right now
This one is a classic. The Bee Gees were an amazing group. My favorite from them is “ More than a woman” also performed by Tavares.
You are a very sweet guy! I find it endearing 🥰

This song gives me chills too. I was 12 when it came out, and it instantly takes me back to Summer, where some of my best memories were made. :)
5:33: That back vocal by Barry was gold. Just a few seconds long, but extremely intense.
Great song. I also like their song "Too Much Heaven".
My favorite!!
