Thanks Mike. Always brilliant! My car is now with the SL Shop and the list of faults is terrifying. I’ve sent you an email with a quick recap of shipping costs.
Thanks for the update. Good news that the car made it safely...not such good news that there is a long list of faults. Usually the expensive thing is rust. Can you send me the list of faults to have a look at? I would be really interested. Mike
great videos, Mike. Thank you for all these videos, helps a lot and great to see the money saving tips by making tings yourself. My r107 is leaking in the boot on the right side and I can see the top seal on the tailight has quite a gap, are taillights adjustable when mounted? I will take the right one off and see if the seal has been put on properly.
Thanks for your comment. There is some adjustment on the tail lights. Often people don’t use the correct oblong washers which means the light isn’t sealing against the boot properly. Mike
Excellent! I will face this repair in my 1st classic.. very helpfull demo.
Thanks for your comment and good luck with the repair. Mike
Great video - what bolts do I need to replace the missing studs ? The ones where you ground off the heads.
Thanks Mike. Always brilliant!

Fantastic
When you visit Santa Monica again, please let me know so I can show you my 1979 450sl. 😁
That sounds great...lets hope that travel gets back to normal in my lifetime! Mike
So much rust, try to find one in better shape. Cost a fortune to get this car back to original.
Yep - that gold 450SL is probably the rustiest SL I have encountered ands too rusty to restore. It is just a parts car for the red car. Mike
