She raised her daughter to be co-dependent on her, for while she was lonely. Then she met a man and now wants her daughter to be a normal adjusted adult when she never taught her how to be a normal adjusted adult. Mom encourages it, and enables it. They both need buckets of therapy.

It's not really the access to a firearm that's concerning, it's the badge and perceived authority it brings. We all know that if she becomes a cop, she will murder Frank and try to make it look like a suicide or just make him disappear. Hell, all she'd need to do is pull him over for whatever reason she can think of, shoot him, and then claim she feared for her life because she thought he had a gun.

So I see it a little easier than someone who hasn't been touched by it. There wasnt emotional incest in my home, kinda emotional instability and neglect/helicopter parenting. I can believe this woman is a cop, because it's exactly those types of people that are drawn to a profession where they get to feel powerful and in control. Not to get political. It's just true. Exactly, this entire situation falls back on the mom. She raised her daughter to be this way and be glued to her side like this, and then married the man knowing her daughter absolutely did not like him for months or years before they married. The mom is the main issue here I believe, because it all stems from her. Yes the daughter definitely needs help, but the only reason she is the way that she is, is because the mom creates her to be this way from day 1, and continues to encourage it even today.
The man hasn’t even said a word and she’s already shaking and “loosing it” if she can’t handle that type of pressure how the hell is she gonna be a cop...that job is nothing but pressure. It's crazy because the mother and daughter relationship here mirrors the relationship between my youngest sister and my mother right now. My sister is 18 and cannot do a single thing without our mother, she can't even pick out outfits without needing to consult her (she will refuse to get ready until she gets an opinion from ma). Our mother completely enables it!
My little sister also has some developmental delays, I wonder if perhaps Brittany here on this show may have some sort of disability? I have no clue ofc, I'm not there with them, but it's a possibility.

That's not what happens with trauma, that's one thing that has a small chance of happening with trauma. It's more likely she was raised to be dependent on the mom amd she played that role until the mom found a man and tossed her aside.

Very sad. The mom raised her daughter to be soley dependent on her and didn't allow her to have autonomy or independence. Now that mom has a man, she wants her daughter to develop. Unfortunately, that isn't how it works. Her brains' foundation is all built on dependence. It will take years of therapy to rewire her brain, but not a lost cause. This is all from mom's parenting (source: I'm a parent/child interaction specialist with a focus on trauma)
My mom did that too. Luckily, I realized early on that her behavior/ thinking wasnt healthy

There's clearly some issues going on here that could really benefit from a mental healthcare professional.
Because her mum groomed her and made her co-dependent. When you are raised that way from a young age, then no shit you'd turn out this way. She needs therapy and needs to be taken from the mum. The mum is the issue here. Not saying that the daughter doesn't have a mind of her own now, but she's still like 19 or something and because of how her mum basically groomed her, then she's clearly got a lot of trauma that she's dealing with and doesn't know how to be apart from her mum, so of course she sees that man as a threat. She was never taught how to BE a functioning adult. If you want to hate on someone, hate the abusive, incest-enabling creep of a mother who raised her this way. Again, I am NOT enabling the way the daughter is behaving, but it's definitely the mother who is the biggest problem in this and is responsible for it.

There is absolutely no way that girl will ever become a cop. She’d never pass the psych evaluation part. She’s obviously unstable and has serious codependency issues with her mom, and I can almost guarantee you that she’d have a slew of psychological diagnoses if properly evaluated. She’s a ticking time bomb and am wondering what will happen with her if she doesn’t receive the appropriate help she so desperately needs (as does her mom).

My aunt had one that came loose. Worse thing ever. The doctors had to open her from sternum to crotch and clean her out. She has a huge vertical scar. Looks cool but the pain she endured over the past few years before she found out what happened was a nightmare. She's doing so much better now and is in a better State of health.

Having specialized in developmental psychology I can say there is a lot going on here. Wow. It is one giant negative cycle that is going on that I assume has been in the making since she was born. The daughter has a high attachment to her mother who appears to want to be independent but also has a low tolerance for addressing conflict in her personal relationship with her daughter. Her daughter can't handle the level of social disequilibrium that results from her mother moving away and no longer providing the same level of support, which in this case would be helpful for her. She freaks out because she is now in this new position and it is uncomfortable for her. The mother has to be strong enough to let this phase pass so she can create new social connections and frameworks that allow her to live an independent life. Because she keeps reinforcing the dysfunctional behaviour it keeps occurring over and over in this cycle. I honestly feel bad for the daughter in this case simply because, in the long run, she is the one who will hurt the most and go through the most trauma in the end. I hope they get the help they need one day.
