I don't have any experience with diesel car engines, but the W124 is one of my all-time favorite car designs. Congratulations.
They are truly beautiful cars. You can learn with me as I go through the car
I bought a 90 300d 2.5 turbo a year ago for a low price and have been fixing it up. I like the car a lot, it is so solid. The Diesel engine is great. There are a lot of little issues that I have been solving, electrical and brake stuff mostly. Also had a big leak on the front of the engine, that turned out to be the bolt on the tensioner. I had abs issues, actually mine had a pump that was blocking fluid from getting to 3 of the wheels. I figured this out while bleeding brakes. a used pump from eBay solved the problem. Recently I have been fixing the power windows. Good luck on your w124!
the cosmetic issues are not a big deal, it is a great car.
Awesome project, can’t wait for its progress.
190K is low miles for this model/year.
Amazing car
At the time, it was by far the fastest diesel ever made. If I recall correctly, it would do 0-60 under 10 seconds.
You have a new sub bro , the w124 is the love of my life , I own a 1994 e250 turbodiesel, a beautiful car
I wish I had a electric seats like yours , amazing content 👍🏼💯
You have a new suscriber!! Great to see a w124 restore proyect 😎🤝
Heck yeah, thank you!
Much to learn with this car! Just spent 14 hours detailing it.
There are washer on fuel pump
Recommended to change those ,that why engine shake up
Do you mean fuel injectors? I did change those
Congrats on the new camper build 😉
Thanks man! I was thinking of having a full high quality build fitting two people in the trunk. It’s a tight fit, but it will be locked so they can’t get out.
El mejor MB del planeta.
Es el coche perfecto.
Enhorabuena por tenerlo.
love it love it obsess
Awesome, i have MB 230 1992, continue record your mercedes, I subscribe
TD: Transporter Diesel (station wagon), this is a turbo-diesel yes, but not a "TD"
Thank you for the clarification
Beautiful car. My friend's 87 has 287k miles on original engine/transmission, rides better and feels like it will outlast my new Ford fusion.
As a person from the UK diesel engines have been my choice for almost all my cars. Mercedes engines (new and old) are bullet-proof but the high tech and plastic in the new cars makes them money pits. An old diesel engine is a very good choice without all those modules and plastic. Will it be hard to fill up in the USA?
That’s what I was thinking. This diesel Mercedes’ should be able to last a few more generations, hopefully.
We have diesel at just about every gas station. Most of the work trucks here run off diesel, so it’s not that bad. It is $1.60 more expensive but the MPG the 300DT can get, I am not too worried
I'm telling you, if you have the ability to fix it up and maintain it...do it, you are a young guy and you could potentially drive that to your retirement party. BTW, check the OVP relay behind the battery, there is a plastic cover there. If the relay has failed or the fuse is blown the ABS light will come on.
Do you think that relay going bad would cause the pedal to malfunction at the same time? The ABS light appears after the pedal does a bit of stuttering.
I went to start my car this morning and both the SRS light was on as well as the ABS light. It was also trying to die on me, which are tell -tell signs of the OVP needing to be serviced or replaced.
As for my ABS issue, I think it is related to the wheel speed sensors in the front wheel bearings.
Both of which im planning on fixing here pretty soon.
I find it funny that I just developed the OVP issue this morning.
@@ImChrisDeDecker They are one and the same. The light is telling you there is a malfunction. The pedal shudder is because of that malfunction. The ABS thinks the wheels are spinning at different speeds and is trying to compensate.
I just bought one same year for $500?
Are you selling
Mercedes is Mercedes 😂
lol. I also recently bought a german piece of shit that needs to pull the engine and redo everything. Congrats on a money pit. :)
We are smart lmao
You didn't buy one of those. Guaranteed
@@cph3459 I bought a BMW Bavaria
not 300td just 300d
I don't need to watch the video to know you are a lucky bugger. It's practically new. The diesel will easily do 500k miles. I'm even tempted to hit dislike out of jealousy 😂
Ahhh noooo 😂 it’s got a bit of issues, but so far it’s running and driving just fine.
Моя мошина
195k? Wtf high miles?
Ask the normal person what is high miles. Over 150k is high to the majority of people. Chill
That millage is verry verry low
Agreed. Just gotta fix the slight overheating issue then the oil leak and it will be a daily driver
ALL YOUR VIDEO's And not once do you show it running we wanna hear it!
