I understand that pulling the engine makes it a better visual but replacing the gaskets while the engine is in the car is probably what most viewers are interested in. If I had the means to pull the engine I wouldn't probably wouldn't need the video. How about doing one with the engine in the car. But a still a very good video. Thanks, still a like just not what I hoped for.

Thank you for leaving us a comment. We will take note of this as it is a great idea to show it without removing the engine. Visually for the videos it would be hard to film. +Craig S

I had to see the one where engine is out of the car because the bolts to the valve covers were too corroded to remove and had to be drilled

Very informative and impressive. I wonder how difficult it is to remove the valve cover and gasket with the engine in the vehicle?

Thanks for the great video. It is inspiring to the younger generation to see women working on stuff too. It really inspired my daughter to be more involved with changing the oil pan on her aging Subaru Outback. Thanks for the information with great production quality.

Curious, why add several hours worth of work removing the engine, I was dreading doing my 2004 EJ259 because of your video, but realized that all that extra work was not necessary! I simply cleared the air box on the passenger side and the washer fluid reservoir on the driver side to access the bolts...5 lbs of torque doesn't require a lot of room!
Not counting prep time degreasing, this was nothing more than a 1.5/2 hr job beginning to end.

They took the engine out for the video. So, it would be easier to film and easier for the viewer to see.

They pulled the engine because they did a how to on the head gaskets.

We’ll see, she did the heads also. It was a lot of work, but a lot was accomplished.

How much is the digital torque wrench she used is the video? That looked like a 3/8 torque wrench.

Wow. Great video. I'm looking forward to buying the same Subaru and that video helped me understand better the location of various parts, what the different parts look like and if you have the right tools (duuh) it looks a piece of cake. Thanks for putting the time to record that. Got yourself a new subscriber.

book time on this job is 1.5 hours. i dont see why you had to remove the entire engine to replace valve covers. yes i know the rear bottom bolt is hard to reach but i was able to unbolt the motor mounts from the bottom and jack the motor up from the pan a couple inches to gain access. do you guys pull motors out to change the oil too.

+Bradd Pitt We appreciate the feedback. Sometimes there are multiple ways to accomplish the same repair and this can be done without lifting the engine, this just makes it easier if you have the equipment and time.

Misleading video title! There is no need to remove the engine in order to change valve cover gaskets. No one is going to do it.
