I love that the devs had the foresight of occasions like these and made the walk after the twins' sacrifice a special solo instance and even had a failsafe in case there were too many people in the normal zone.
It doesnt matter how many times I've watched "The Walk", it always brings me to tears, hearing Close In The Distance, hearing the voices of those we have lost, and those we have yet saved. Instant tears no mater what.
I'm sad I couldn't make it out to this! Congrats on completing Endwalker. It's so crazy that I started watching you back in level 20 ARR and now here you are, a full Warrior of Light crying to Emet-Selch chastising you. And now I get to watch you become current with XIV!
I can't believe that the bloke that I saw ages back, doing low-level stuff is not at the end of his long, arduous walk ;_; It was quite an emotional experience being there in the crowd to applaud you :)
fun fact! the background song that starts playing after graha's sacrifice? it's titled close in the distance, and recently we got the confirmation that the lyrics you hear are ardbert speaking/singing. might never be able to listen to it without getting teary eyed
@@demeanoris its incomplete in the beginning and the story progresses more and more of the song is presented until the end when the complete song can be heard.
To be accurate, Yoshida originally told us that the pronouns in the Japanese lyrics implied it was Raha singing, and that makes a lot more sense. For whatever reason, they recently decided to change it to Ardbert but when you think about it, those lyrics don't fit him.
Well, to once again quote Jecht: "You'll cry. You're gonna cry. You always cry. See? You're crying." To be fair, so did we all. It's a beautiful journey, isn't it?
no one ever seems to realize that during the walk, the shadows are placed just far enough apart so that whatever quote is being said, you have enough time to hear it while walking to the next. thats why it takes forever for some of yall, because you stop and listen instead of walking to the next one while listening
Man I can remember watching your first uploads dude, hold your head high! Been a great time watching your journey and seeing you improve and conquer harder trials and raids! You made it :D
Re: Emet-Selch. In the span of 10 minutes he: 1: Comes back from the afterlife 2: Complains 3: Calls a little girl mid. 4: Makes her cry. 5: Compliments you. 6: Calls himself cringe 7: Says "I'm still right tho'" 8: Makes YOU cry 9: Calls you a slacker 10: Peace out to spite a dead goddess and old friend. … Inviolate principles indeed. No. 1 hater energy. I love him so much.
I always love seeing how players react to the walk cause it makes everyone ugly cry me included. and no matter how many times I see it I always tear up and cry when I see it. honestly the whole last zone just makes me cry. cause its so beautiful. Yet, sad and tragic at the same time.
There is an inherent sadness in journey's end but your reaction is one of the best I've ever seen in a streamer so far😊. It was great seeing you throughout this journey and im glad you'd enjoy it😊 Still not over though, forge ahead
Happy to have made it for this stream, Two! Twas very fun to witness your walk to the end. 🎉 My emotional vampirism found satisfaction.... 🍲😋 If you're still working on making an edited level 87 video, I am greatly looking forward to it!
Theres one thing that is constant with every viewing of The Walk for me with streamers. The story progression of it is always amazing gets me every time. But for streamers, it’s different. It’s different because while some streamers do cry from the beautiful story of Endwalker, what gets every streamer is what happens after The Walk. You are in a field of Elpis flowers, about to face the end. . . With people. Not just any people though, these people are a physical(Digital? You get the point) representation of their community. Each person a viewer, both old and new that show the growth of the streamer and that the time they spent playing this “stupid shitty weeb game” is worth it. Whether it be a financial help as playing/streaming has given them a new career path that they can love, or it be an emotional one as they are able to connect with so many other people around the world who are passionate about the same series as them. All of this comes and hits them like an emotional truck. This ultimately culminates for me in the Question that has to be brought up multiple times after the first time asked in Elpis, “Has your journey been good? Has it been worthwhile?” You know the Answer, Your Answer. Forge Ahead 2caves.
13:35 Nope, if you didn't do Omega you'd have no idea what was going on. 18:10 You, obviously, wouldn't have that option if you hadn't done at least through O11. 19:10 That's a face alright. 22:08 Yup, they're all just waiting here, not even knowing. 24:49 Yup, the same one. They're stalking us. 31:43 TOP trauma intensifies. 40:35 The omicrons are a peek at what the garleans could become in the future, methinks. 44:30 They're going to make you do it again. 51:30 Did you catch the lines talking about each part of the game? A realm reborom from the ashes, 'neath the heavens, blood red sky tranquil after the storm, blessed shadow. 58:45 Two is breaking already and we've scarcely begun. 1:14:60 Coils music. I can't find the track for the life of me and it bugs me. 1:20:00 Time for devastation. Glad you have tissues. 1:25:40 She said the thing from the trailer. The first time we ever heard her voice. 1:28:50 One of the first things the Hythlo shade said to us was that it was created to serve a small part, to bring life to the stage of the fake Amaurot. Emet's craftsmanship was on point. 1:29:40 Oh, she absolutely did. Remember on the boat she said she ferried not only Minfilia's soul back to the Source but "another who may yet have a part to play"? 1:31:40 They're a mix of all the colors we saw throughout the story. 1:33:40 Venat said the power over matter would not last indefinitely. Her last gift to us was our friends back. 1:40:24 One last bit of evil from Emet. Teasing an Azem with fantastical places he's seen that you haven't. 1:41:19 Why does Emet only smile at us when he's about to die?
Seeing this streamed live come up in my recommended and being able to watch at the best moment in the entire franchise was peak viewer boner. Sad chat replay wasn't displayed though; it was a great community.
The last voice on the walk is Elidibus, in the body of Ardbert during Shadowbringers. Even with his soul depleted and consigned to oblivion, he's still there with you. Urging you to move forward one tremulous step at a time.
This is completely wrong. It isn't Elidibus, it's just plain old Ardbert, as the OG Warrior of Darkness. The voice line comes from the cutscene before the WOD fight in 3.4 (Post HW).
It still makes a mess out of me even after seeing it a hundred time
I love that the devs had the foresight of occasions like these and made the walk after the twins' sacrifice a special solo instance and even had a failsafe in case there were too many people in the normal zone.
Now that you are at journey's end, ever stand tall, my friend!
It doesnt matter how many times I've watched "The Walk", it always brings me to tears, hearing Close In The Distance, hearing the voices of those we have lost, and those we have yet saved. Instant tears no mater what.
Props for recognizing most talkers.
This song it’s almost 3 years and I still break down every single time. Enjoy the sweetest, most enjoyable devastation ❤❤❤
TEARS FOR THE TEAR GOD
You mean Ishikawa? This is justified payback for that one time we made her cry at Fan Fest
I'm sad I couldn't make it out to this! Congrats on completing Endwalker. It's so crazy that I started watching you back in level 20 ARR and now here you are, a full Warrior of Light crying to Emet-Selch chastising you. And now I get to watch you become current with XIV!

Walk on my friend. Walk on!
fun fact! the background song that starts playing after graha's sacrifice? it's titled close in the distance, and recently we got the confirmation that the lyrics you hear are ardbert speaking/singing. might never be able to listen to it without getting teary eyed
And everyone thought it was G'raha and said so until the devs said otherwise. So basically it's kind of a voice inside ourselves.
that was confirmed?? Damn. That's news to me. Makes it hit just a tad harder.
The song plays throughout the entire run Ultima Thule it's heavily distorted at first getting clearer with each sacrifice
@@demeanoris its incomplete in the beginning and the story progresses more and more of the song is presented until the end when the complete song can be heard.

The omnicron beast tribe quests are well worth doing
The walk still makes me bawl no matter how many times I see it

Welcome to the end, you have walked so far....now keep blazing thy trail until the dawn rises anew!~ ;3
This is the point everyone broke...Also im here since you started, was waiting for this moment for ages! Can't wait for the next part!
Man I can remember watching your first uploads dude, hold your head high! Been a great time watching your journey and seeing you improve and conquer harder trials and raids! You made it :D
I did the walk 5 times. Cried everytime. The music makes the ambiance nostalgic and wow... what a journey.
Re: Emet-Selch.
In the span of 10 minutes he:
1: Comes back from the afterlife
2: Complains
3: Calls a little girl mid.
4: Makes her cry.
5: Compliments you.
6: Calls himself cringe
7: Says "I'm still right tho'"
8: Makes YOU cry
9: Calls you a slacker
10: Peace out to spite a dead goddess and old friend.
… Inviolate principles indeed.
No. 1 hater energy.
I love him so much.
WP 2caves! You have so much more to experience in this game. To the end!
I relish in the emotional trauma inflicted by FF14! Also, they confirmed the song from the zone is from Ardbert.
I always love seeing how players react to the walk cause it makes everyone ugly cry me included. and no matter how many times I see it I always tear up and cry when I see it. honestly the whole last zone just makes me cry. cause its so beautiful. Yet, sad and tragic at the same time.
THAT was the real Welcome to Endwalker!

1:33:27 --- Gotta be honest... though I still love this moment... knowing what happens later and DT... the Scions should've remained.
"I like the part at the end, where you walk"
I was there :) Kujaa Silverdragon
"She's just standing there... MENACINGLY!"
Sorry, it had to be said.
1:41:54 Missed this part because I was asleep, atleast I managed to catch the trial and got to be in the bonus run of it :)
he finally walks the walk
Rare to see a fellow Elezen

Atlast, my wait has paid off 🧛♂

Rats, and I would have gotten away with it too if it werent for these meddling kids and their talking cat.
We rise, fall and rise again :3
